    Seafood pasta
    Lyane P.

We ordered the: Minestrone Soup Chicken Parmesan Lasagna Seafood Pasta Food-4-5 Service-5/5 Atmosphere-5/5 I enjoyed my Chicken Parmesana, which came with garlic bread. Chicken was well seasoned and the sauce was flavorful. Noodles were cooked perfectly and every bite was delicious. The minestrone was quite salty for my taste. My daughter ordered a bowl for dinner, but it was hard to finish due to the salt content. The lasagna was just ok. My other daughter enjoyed the seafood pasta, which was full of shrimp and salmon. I found the food was inconsistent although the overall dining experience was wonderful. The server was very friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We went on a day where there was a farmer's market right outside. Very high foot traffic but the wait was only about 15 minutes. I would come again of if I was in the neighborhood.

Rosine's was an awesome spot for breakfast in Monterey. Nice ambiance low light setting with the sunshine coming in, very great service. The large ham platter came with three eggs, potatoes, and toast. The food was so delicious. Our waitress was so very kind and gracious throughout ensuring that our glasses were full. Truly a great first time experience!

I went in for a late lunch today and got seated right away. I noticed a weird odor in the air and on the booth. I read someone's review earlier and they said the same thing. I ordered a Margarita which was pleasant. For food, I ordered the lasagna. It was delicious. Everything I look for in a lasagna. The music that was playing was really off putting. Loud pop rock or whatever genre it was. It didn't fit the place. Also, there were a lot of gnats flying around our table. They must have a drain problem in the kitchen or something.

We had lunch here recently during car week. It's an established family-style restaurant that doesn't need to rely on updated decor to draw business, because it's in a great location in downtown, has an excellent old-school menu, serves good food that is nicely prepared, and to top it off has a bakery case at the front checkout filled with giant cakes that you can get slices of "to go". My wife had the tortilla scramble and I had the open-faced hot turkey sandwich, complete with mashed potatoes and heaps of yummy gravy ... the kind that makes you wish more places still offered dishes like this. Delicious!! Our server was courteous and efficient and was quick to bring me even more of that gravy when I asked. We resisted the temptation to buy slices of cake to go, but only because we were on our way to a car week event. Next time...

This review is just for the cakes. Oh my! They're soo delicious! We got 4 slices and they're huge!!! Very moist and flavorful. The Black Forest cake was very good. The strawberry one was a classic. And the banana walnut was the favorite. We also got the chocolate and very decadent and every chocolate loves dream.

After trying their lunch, I can honestly say that their breakfast was more superior. I ordered the Cajun Shrimp Pasta. The cajun flavor was just too overpowering, and could probably use some pepper flakes, pepper or even garlic to balance out the flavor. There was only 4 pieces of shrimp. Nice size shrimp but very soft with no bite to it. The garlic bread was also a bit stale. A big let down especially not worth the $30. Same with the Seafood pasta. I would prefer a whole piece of salmon instead of a bunch of small cubes and not many shrimp either. The Chicken Sandwich not bad and the slaw paired well with it, but it had like a dozen pickles crammed on the small bottom bun which made it turn soggy really quick. French Dip was good but I think it would be better on a hoagie or french roll instead of the hamburger bun they had it on. The Calamari Strips and fries was probably the best thing we had there. Calamari was fried perfectly and very tender and was accompanied by ketchup, tartar, and cocktail sauce. Their cocktail sauce was amazing. This trip was just meh.

Stopped by Rosine's Restaurant while visiting Monterey. The service was great throughout the meal, and it's easy to see why this place is so popular with both locals and tourists. We started with a cup of their famous minestrone soup, which was solid. It was hearty and comforting. For the entrée, I ordered the lasagna with meatballs. Unfortunately, it was just okay. The lasagna itself wasn't bad, but it just tasted like your average lasgna. The bigger disappointment was the meatballs. They were cold, not tender, and lacked seasoning. The highlight of the meal was the Lemon Blueberry Cake. This dessert was absolutely divine. It was light, moist, and not overly sweet. The balance between the lemon and blueberry was excellent. After a fairly average entrée, the cake completely saved the meal and ended things on a high note. Overall, I enjoyed the experience thanks to the friendly service and an outstanding dessert.

We were able to get a last minute reservation at this place for our anniversary dinner, and I am so happy we did! They had plenty of patio seating so we were able to bring our dog with us to join in on the fun. I ordered the Fettuccini Alfredo, and it was delicious. I personally love when my pasta has so much cheese so this place did not disappoint. The portion itself was huge and with 4 prices of garlic bread I knew there was no way I could finish my whole plate. The food came out hot and tasted like warm, delicious comfort food. My husband ordered the burger and he said it was very good. Not pictured here (since I got too excited and started eating before taking a picture) is the chocolate wafer cake we ordered. I have to say this was the star of the show. I am not a big cake person but this cake was something else. The chocolate whipped frosting was so light and not too sweet. The cake itself was very tasty not too dry and not too dense. The Kit Kat "wafers" added the perfect texture of crunch in every bite.

Celebrated our friend's bday here today which happens to be Memorial Day. I took the initiative to reserve a table as I know it'll be super busy. And boy I was right! The place is full of patrons and tourists. We were seated 4 minutes upon arrival. We all love this place and all our foods came Out to our liking. But for the highlight of our visit today is the exemplary service that Shelly has given us. From start to finish it was amazing. She was a sport as to our jokes and conversations. And she made us laughed so hard. It was a bright addition to our celebration today. Thank you so much Shelley or Martha for making our day super fun! You're awesome!!!

This place is adorable. The food was off the chart delicious. The service was amazing and felt like the servers and manager were our friends after we left. So personable and kind. We were in town for the Indy Car race at Laguna Seca and when we come back next year & years to come, we will be coming to Rosines again and again!! Highly recommended. Delicious chicken Parmesan, light and delicious chicken picatta & huge cakes slices for dessert!!! 10 stars out of 5

Made a reservation via OpenTable for 7:15. We arrived a few minutes early and we're seated promptly. Our waitress was extremely kind and friendly. The menu options for both adults and kids were amazing. We ordered the chicken parmesan with alfredo pasta, Caesar side salad, calamari strips appetizer, and two pieces of cake for our kids which were massive sized. I also ordered a mango Italian soda with cream. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The place had a really nice vibe, wasn't too loud, loved the brick wall accents. It seemed chill yet also classy. Will 100% come here again and recommend to everyone.

Everything is very good here. The location, easy parking, the food, the service - we had a very nice time. I got the salmon Florentine eggs Benedict - wow! The salmon fillet was huge, the eggs poached perfectly and the hollandaise sauce was divine. Only compliant is I couldn't finish it as it was so much food. Good problem, really. Hubby got the calamari steak sandwich. This is a beautiful 'piece of meat' breaded and fried - absolutely delicious. Having a breaded steak between two pieces of bread was redundant - so we sliced the steak into ribbons and simply ate as an appetizer, dipping the slices in the best tartar sauce I have ever had. We cannot wait to come back - but will only order one entree because they are so big (not complaining).

7/13/25 Zach and I decided to get brunch at Rosine's before heading back home. Since we had Coco, we requested an outdoor table. There was plenty of outdoor seating, but the tables and the seats were covered with lots of bird poo. We chose the table with the least amount of bird poo, but maybe the restaurant should try to clean the outdoor tables and chairs every now and then...our host didn't seem bothered by it which we thought was weird. Here's what we got: - Crab avocado benedict (mine) - Crispy hot chicken sandwich with onion rings (his) We waited about 15 minutes for the food to come out. Of the two plates, the crab benedict was actually good. The chicken was advertised as hot and crispy, but it was neither of those two unfortunately. The chicken was pretty bland and unappetizing. The onion rings were mediocre. Overall it was an okay brunch. It was a convenient spot since our hotel was nearby.

The streets of Alvarado and surrounding were packed with cars and people. We circled the blocks surrounding a couple of times before double parking a block away from the brewery. My little person was with me on this mission. Upon entering the brewery, the hostess had a line of five groups in front of us being put on a waiting list to be seated. Inside, every seat and stool was occupied. The tables and seating were compact with enough aisle space to allow servers through to deliver orders. When it was our turn, I provided my name for pickup. We were instructed to get our order from the beer garden. Location of the beer garden, in the rear of the overpacked aisles we had to beeline through. The interior of this location spans vastly which is great for customer seating and lessening wait times, yet sucks for those needing to retrieve their pickup. When we finally made it to the rear, our order was ready to go. I signed the receipt and was off. The food itself was prepared exceptionally well, extremely flavorful with high quality ingredients and nothing but compliments from each of us - three in total. Our daughter killed every slice of her pizza minus one, husband devoured his and I had a few slices remaining that I ate for breakfast cold. The cheesy crust was a beautiful crunchy addition texturally and flavor wise; however, cold it was hard to bite through as easy. Would we return, definitely. We will do a one person hop out and grab the food while the other circles. Lucky there were no cops out towing - I was in the red for a minute waiting to pickup.

If you read my…read moreother reviews, you'll see that I reside in the Central Valley, which is pretty far from Monterey, but not too far. I came for a little vacation from the heat, which is definitely necessary because it gets pretty toasty in the Fresno area. I think it's all the roads and stuff. I wouldn't know, I'm not a scientist. To continue what I was saying, I came to Monterey for a little vacation! Usually I'd go eat at a little spot at a mall called Island Burger, but to my surprise, the place was permanently closed! Can you believe it? I couldn't. Because the Island Burger was closed, I decided to go elsewhere for a burger. I checked online to see what folks were saying about this place, and it seemed like everybody had mostly positive things to say. So I went and ate there! When I walked in I noticed it was one of those spots where you just kinda put in your order and sit down and wait. So that's what I did. I got the spicy burger, but I can't remember the name of it. I also got some onion rings and chicken wings. I'd like to mention that I was with my family so we could share those items. I could theoretically eat all of that myself, but that'd be a bit greedy. The burger was great and it had a good amount of spice. The meat was juicy and nicely seasoned, and the fries were perfectly crispy. The onion rings had a delicious batter, and were fried to perfection. The chicken wings really surprised me! I would go as far as to say that they were on par with, and maybe even better than Wingstop. Overall, the service was great and quick, the food was immaculate, and I would absolutely recommend this spot to anybody who is in the area. The bathrooms are nice too. I forgot to mention that. Good bathrooms are very important.

I wanted something to drink that wasn't sweet, so I tried their raspberry ice tea. They used a sugary syrup to flavor the tea, and that was a strike out. It was sweeter than a soda, so it went back and I swapped it out for a plain unsweetened ice tea. Then we tried the cheesy garlic bread, which we were really looking forward to. Welp, it came out with mozzarella cheese and a ton of corn. No butter. No garlic. We all looked at each other when we tried it. Ok, let's try their brussel sprouts. Those are hard to mess up - but sure enough, they managed to. They deep fried them to the point they were black and charred. There wasn't anything left of the brussel sprout itself, it was mostly crunchy charcoal. At this point, we all ordered something we assumed would be safe for our main. I got the sliders and a side salad. I had the salad but only of the sliders. The cheese on it was queso, like you use to dip chips, so it was ran all over the place and the burger was a grease ball. I won't even get into what everyone else had, but they had similar experiences. Overall, it was pretty disappointing. Maybe there are other things or other times where this place is better, but it was a swing and a miss for us.
