My friends favorite is the per cooked bacon and onion pizza and I can't think of any other pizza joint who could any better. When in central CT, there are no shortages of red sauce Italian food joints. Rossini's represents a good family restaurant with affordable, good quality (though mostly standard fare) Italian food. A couple of highlights to mention - it's one of the few places I've eaten that doesn't overcook the calamari - it's tender and not rubbery as you usually find elsewhere. Also, they've upgraded the wine list to acceptable standards, and expanded their selection of local beers. There is nothing better than the pizza at rossinis! Always being able to watch the chefs make the pizza in front of you is also a bonus . Their food is good and there is very little I could complain about! Sometimes the waitstaff is not good but I haven't had that prob in years there . My favorite pizza anywhere! I love the thin, flavorful crust. I tend to keep it simple with a pepperoni but have had many different toppings here and never disappointed. Have also ordered chicken parm, grinders, and the sausage spinach stuffed bread.... all delicious. Wait staff is always pleasant; I have never had a bad experience dining in. I've also never had issues with the timing of my pick up when ordering out. Antipasto salad is another of my recommended must-have choices for this restaurant; their house dressing makes it! Pizza here is Excellent! The crust and dough is all made in house as well as the Delicious Breads and Rolls! Many good dishes and definitely the Largest Lunch and Dinner Menu Selections in Town. I have had everything from a Burger to Fresh Fried Whole Belly Clams to Pizza's and Calzones to Lasagna and Veal Parmigian, it's all Delicious. They also have Sciatiata's but I have not gotten that far, if you are Italian, you know what those are. Honestly, everything that I have ever had here is prepared well and very tasty. There is a Wine Selection that is higher end and you can get Beer or Craft Beers here. Service is normally great and if you are in a hurry for lunch, just say so and they do all they can to accommodate. You can call in for pickup or call ahead on your order. Definitely worth a try in Town. Staff is always friendly and easy going. Fresh Desserts are to Die For, Pies, Cakes, Puddings, Etc. Great for Singles, Couples, or Big Groups and there is a Family Gathering Room as well as Tables you can move and put together or booths. Enjoy. read more

I have been going to Rossinis for many many years. Cant think of another restaurant that leaves you with feeling so satisfied. Their sauce is authentic Italy. Fresh Salads and Soups.. Bread Unbelievable..But the Pizza flavor is as good as any in the World. Try it!!!!!! read more

Acknowledging the other reviews I'll start this by saying, "rename this to Rossini's PIZZA" ... I haven't yet tried the pizza and being new in town, I clearly made the newbie mistake of ordering off the menu. The dinner rolls were the typical frozen rolls places order in frozen. I heard they make their bread and that's what drew me in... but surely these rolls were NOT homemade. I was having Wonderbread flashbacks. Very typical, cheap fare. I'm not much of a cook, I inherited the trait from my mother, but I could put out a better dinner than Rossini's, with the rolls ! Sorry. I will absolutely update this review when I get around to trying their pizza (I just very rarely eat pizza) read more

Went to church and decided to stop here on the way home on Christmas Eve. There was two other tables occupied and ours made 3. Took 55 mins to get our food, we finally got it after asking twice. Food was terrible, egg plant part was bad, No one said a word. Will never go back. Very poor attitude read more

I love,love, love the pizza here, it is so good. They must pick the tomatoes from a garden out back and make their own sauce. Well one might I strayed from the pizza and was sorry I did. I was in the mood for pasta, so I ordered sausage with linguine. The sausage had a gross texture and was very gland. Surprisingly the sauce was not good either. Chewy thin crust, excellent sauce and good mozz. You can also request thick crust (like a Neapolitan pizza) for a small up charge. Good calzones too and ginormous. Grinders are fine but I really really wish they would use their homemade bread (like an olive oil ciabatta) to put them on. Same with the bread served with pasta dinners (which are pretty good too). I personally love their red pizza (garlic/mushroom/pepper/sausage) and husband loves white clam and bacon pizza- admittedly I don't hate it either. We often get a loaf bread to go for another meal (yum with homemade soup in the winter!) Salads are good too and often a good pairing with pizza. FYI- they don't do slices but they will make a personal/small pizza. read more

We love this local restaurant. The food is delicious and the service is always good. We have also gotten food for take out and eaten at home (because we have a young baby) and it has always been packaged well and wait time has always been very reasonable. They have yet to disappoint! read more

I've been a consistent customer of this establishment for a little over 14 years now and never got a bad pizza. Until tonight I've been very happy with the service and quality but the taste and quality of the food has gone down tremendously, I can no longer taste the love and compassion they used to put into the food. For a restaurant that has been in business for 25 years, I was not very impressed. I ordered a burger, with bacon and cheese, cooked medium rare. What I received was a burger, no bacon, cooked very well. The service was slow, while we were one of the only tables seated in the restaurant. read more

Been going to Rossini's for years. You'll see Mr. Rossini flipping dough as you come in. Nice, thin crust with a fresh sauce. I prefer just cheese as the sauce is so good. Wait staff is friendly, and it is very child friendly. Killer parking lot in icy winters, but that's the only downside. read more

We go here regularly so are familiar with many of their dishes. The bread is made on the premises and is dangerously good. We eat the whole basket. Their dinners are good and recently I had a delicious chicken marsala that was excellent. I had to request fresh vs. canned mushrooms which they had no problem with and so I loved it. I had one of the absolute best hamburger and fries ever here too. Good grinders and the pizza looks good but I never end up ordering it cause other menu items seem so interesting.
