DO NOT GO HERE! I was a regular customer until a couple nights ago. This night, we were getting terrible service and were the only ones there. I left a 10% tip. As soon as I put the check down, the waitress came to pick it up and looked at the tip before even leaving the table. She was challenging my tip and arguing back and forth with me about how a 10% tip was meant for Mcdonalds! She even threatened, "I'll remember your name and face for the next time you are here!" I ignored it, but called back later for the manager's phone number. The lady (who was our waitress) gave me her personal phone number instead. When i called "the manager" she laughed and hung up on me. I do not like the way I was/have been treated by this restaurant. read more

Rouen Thai is my weekly" fav" restaurant. Always get Panang Curry Shrimp and eggrolls. Service is great and consistent. Food is ready in 15 minutes- can't beat that. read more

This restaurant serves up some solid Thai in South Tampa. My boyfriend and I came here on a rainy week night and the restaurant was relatively empty so we were seated promptly. We ordered the crab rangoons, pad thai, and panang curry. The crab rangoons were tasty - the cream cheese had a hint of curry which I really liked. I thought the pad thai was good, but they only offered two spice levels: medium and thai hot. I went with the medium and didn't even taste a tinge of spice, but no biggy, I was able to get the spice rack and adjust to my liking. The panang curry had fresh ingredients but the flavor was lacking. Service was fast and friendly! I'd come back to get the pad thai or other noodle dishes, but skip the curries. read more

This is BY FAR the BEST Thai place I have EVER been to, in Florida, anywhere... I live in Georgia now but I CRAVE the food at Rouen. I lived near and would go there 2 times a week. Seriously. lol Forget Thai Thani and their HORRIBLE service and overpriced bland food.. (Yuck) Forget all the other Thai places in Tampa too.... This place surpasses them all. I miss the crab rangoon and the HUGE portions that they serve (easily splittable) and especially the STELLAR service. (Re the Crab Rangoon - best crab rangoon I have ever had. It's not your average greasy Chinese-rangoon. It's different at first but it grows on you QUICK. It's unbelievably awesome.) The food, atmosphere, service (always attentive, polite, friendly, QUICK) - I have nothing bad to say about this place. You never know how good you have it til it's gone.... Very good Thai food. Can order the pad thai without egg if needed. I got the order to go and it was ready when I got there. Staff was very friendly and restaurant appeared clean and orderly. Very beautiful inside. If you park in front of the restaurant don't hit the yellow poles while backing out. You can see the light pole quite clearly in your rear view mirror but the yellow posts protecting it are too short and everyone hits them. read more

I gave it a 4 and not a 5 because they need new chairs and non sticky menus, but food is the main dish and I was very happy and looked forward to my leftovers. I really like this place. For starters, the staff are very friendly and likeable. The atmosphere is classy yet relaxed -- which is to say, you don't feel out of place if you're not dressed up. And of course, the food is delicious. The vegetables taste very "earthy," which might turn some people off. However, this is a quality I actually like. The presentation of the dishes is generally interesting and pleasing to the eye. Last but not least, the Thai tea is excellent. I have enjoyed several dinners here; I am vegan and there are several items on the menu I can enjoy. There are vegetarian items and macrobiotic dishes that are suitable for most vegans. Ask the friendly staff if you have questions. Tonight I had the macrobiotic fried tofu appetizer; my entree was the macrobiotic steamed broccoli with snow peas, carrots, and cashews, served with brown rice. Very tasty! We have patronized Rouen Thai dozens of times and always found the food to be pretty good. The Pad Thai is always a favorite and they have a salad dish with duck that is excellent. We've also tried some of their fish specials that were so huge we couldn't get close to finishing it. But the point of writing this was a take out experience where a) my wife got sick from the food and to add insult to injury b) they went ahead and added on a modest tip to the take out order. When I went back and checked the credit card receipt I clearly had lined the tip line out and just extended the food total to the bottom. Now I know some people will tip everywhere, but I tip generously when i dine in, but for take out orders I rarely do. No matter whether you agree or disagree with that, the nerve of the restaurant person to add on some de minimis amount (it was like $5) is wrong. I didn't go back to ask them about it, nor did I call the credit card company to remove the amount. It wasn't worth the effort, but I have not gone back to this restaurant and will not do so. I'm not going to say the restaurant is unethical. It could have been just one person but I felt compelled to share this now that i am a Yelp member. read more

My favorite "amazing" shrimp. It is on the menu in the curry section and is shrimp on steamed broccoli with a delicious peanut sauce. If I want a lower calorie option I go with the macrobiotic menu. The shrimp with veggies is delicious and comes with brown rice that is a flavorful alternative. The papaya salad is made with green, unripened papaya fruit and I am so grateful that a friend introduced it to me. Absolutely delicious.! We have been going here for years. It is our preferred destination for Thai food. The staff seems to change. All are helpful but some have better communications skills than others. Every single time we've ordered the portions are MUCH smaller than what you receive while dining in. I brought it to their attention before making my last order and they said they would make sure the portions were dinner size.
