The food at this location is definitely just 2 to 3 stars. I ordered from here on Saturday night for the first time in a long time, and probably won't order from here again anytime soon. The problem is that everything was just bland. For my entree I had the "Cashew Chicken", which should be renamed "Diced Undercooked Carrots" with a few pieces of chicken and a cashew garnish. The brown sauce it was in was flavorless, and I could only eat a small portion until I was fed up eating only carrots. I didn't even take pictures of it because it was so underwhelming. The fried rice was fine, but nothing special, ditto the egg rolls. I think I probably liked the steamed dumplings best, especially because they came with chili oil in addition to dumpling sauce. Due to the pandemic, the entire restaurant is sealed off with visqueen, and they talk to you through the plastic. Your order is placed into a double sided box, so once you've paid you lift the lid and take your food. Ordered from this place on a referral from staff at the hotel. I had the pork egg roll, shrimp fried rice, chicken & broccoli. The egg roll had enough flavor, I did not use any sauces (mustard or sweet/sour). The fried rice was loaded with shrimp. The onions were a very nice addition. I have ordered from this place for over 10 years. But, today marks the end. Listen I work in a hospital & it's less restrictive than this place. There is a plastic enclosure, all bootleg blocking all patrons out. There is a small space to pay & talk to someone through a plastic tarp. It was 95 degrees when I picked up my food that I ordered online. It wasn't ready & I waited in my car. I returned & continued to wait in the sweltering heat.They slid my receipt through a small bootleg specimen door like in a Drs office. They almost forgot my main dish & had to flag me down. When I got home all the sauce had melted through the styrofoam bowl and exploded everywhere. It was a bath of piping hot brown sauce. I received part of someone else's order. The food was extremely salty. I want to support local business but seriously after a long week working in the hospital- during these stressful times- this was just too much. I am tired of people crying about ho ho to go's service and food quality. In the interest of full disclosure, I live deep in the ghetto on the "wrong side" of I-275 in Tampa. I've passed Ho Ho To Go on the way to La Teresita and thought it a funny name...so then when they dropped a delivery menu off at my apartment building I saved it. I just ordered crag rangoons, chicken fried rice and bourbon chicken...and then tossed it in the trash. The only positive thing I can say is that the delivery was quite fast and the delivery guy was nice. The crab rangoons were ok...they tasted just like they always do and we ate them. But my boyfriend and I both took one bite of each dish and decided it wasn't worth it. No joke, within a few minutes we both had like acid reflux come up in our throats. When they moved to their new location we ordered delivery a few times. We were very disappointed every time and so we started looking for a new place. It's been years since we tried them but recently we received a flyer and decided to try again. We have ordered delivery from them 3 times in the last 4 months and every time we did the food was good. They have a lot of great veggie options that other places don't offer. Our favorites are General Tso's tofu, sesame tofu and sweet and sour tofu. My jaw hurts and i will not even attempt to eat the rest of my meal because that is just gross. I really tried to give this place several chances but after today, I could no longer do it. I really never cared for their food but because it's in walking distance of my job and needed something quick, I gave them another try. For awhile, the only thing I would get was the dumplings and egg rolls, but after today I won't be returning. The fried dumplings was so soaked in oil, I had to use several napkins to blot them dry.
