Forgot to take many photos because books and friends, but their new miso garlic grilled cheese is AMAZING. Tots are still lit. Service is great. Ambiance is lovely and feels safe and fun always. Went for SBC and had a great time as always.

We finally had the occasion to visit the Rough & Tumble Pub a few days ago. This pub has been on our list for awhile now as they are dedicated to all things "women's sports". We visited on a Sunday night so there wasn't much of a crowd to speak of but I can imagine how hopping the place gets when amped up with crowds cheering on their favorite sports teams such as the WNBA Storm, the NWSL Seattle Reign, and others. I wouldn't call this pub vegan friendly by any stretch but they do have a few vegan options, which is always greatly appreciated. Their menu is a bit .. chaotic, in my opinion. What do I mean by "chaotic", good question .. I'll provide some examples: - They have a few different menus, depending on time of day (Brunch, Happy Hour, Dinner, etc). This is in no way unusual for a restaurant and it's easy enough to read when on a computer but if you're trying to scroll through those menus on your smart phone .. you might be left with vertigo (yes, I'm being dramatic for effect, but still ... ) - at least one item (the Spiced Edamame) is marked with a "v" but .. what does "v" mean? Vegan? Vegetarian? I couldn't find any type of "key" on their menu unless I overlooked something (always possible). - I'm not gluten free at all but in tiny letters at the bottom of their menu it says "items marked gf may have shared traced of gluten from a shared fryer, we are happy to sub fully gf/celiac safe tortilla chips on any item". I feel like if something is marked "gf" on the menu, a customer should feel confident that it's 100% gf and not have to guess .. especially when it comes to health concerns. If not, it should be made more clear than simply providing very tiny, hard to read text at the bottom of the menu. In all fairness, on a lot of the specific items, they do call this out but it just seems weird to label something gf that isn't 100% gf. - "Baller basket of fries or tots" - these aren't labelled as "v" at all, seems inconsistent to the labelling of the spiced edamame. - Jackie's Baked Buffalo Dip - creamy jackfruit, charred scallions, "mozzarella", Frank's r+t tortilla chips (vegan)". The "r+t" = "rough and tumble", call me dense but it took me a bit to figure that out lol. So, is this vegan? Does putting "mozzarella" in quotes automatically mean it's vegan or is the implication accidental? If it's vegan cheese, why not just say that? lol. I looked at their brunch menu and noticed some of their "scramble" options specifically list "vegan mozzarella cheese" as an option, so that told me they definitely stock vegan cheese. When I asked the server, she did confirm the "mozzarella" listed in this dish was indeed vegan. I didn't think to ask about the "creamy jackfruit" though so now I'm hoping that was vegan as well as that was an item we ordered and ... it was really good! - they have a Pork Belly or Tofu Sliders option on Hawaiian bread. We were thinking that maybe tofu sliders would be vegan. I asked about the Hawaiian bread, which they confirmed wasn't vegan. In all fairness to them, this item isn't listed as vegan but ... it's an item that would very likely draw interest to a vegan, so why not provide a vegan version of the same. They did check on availability of an alternative vegan bread, but were out of baguettes (which was vegan). So, if you go there another time and order this, if they have baguettes available at that time maybe this would be accidentally vegan. - going back to the Brunch section, when looking at the scrambles, and then say "or mixed greens (gf/vegan)". For many of the scrambles listed, practically none of the ingredients are vegan (although again, they do have vegan scramble options) but for a scramble that wouldn't remotely be vegan, why specify that the mixed greens in the scramble are vegan, like .. would that ever be a question if greens are vegan? So, I'm not trying to nitpick or be difficult but I think these are strong inconsistences that could easily be ironed out. I totally understand that given the pub being a sports bar, vegan clientele are probably but the tiniest fraction of their patrons. It felt like they definitely put thought into trying to be inclusive while at the same time, it seems scattered and confusing and could keep some vegans from coming back or visiting at all. The servers were helpful and very attentive to our needs but were also definitely not familiar with our vegan questions. That's not a problem as they took every stride to find out the needed information and ensure we had a good meal. I mention this only because I feel like if they tighten up a few loose ends, this pub could really hold great appeal for vegan clientele. The food was really enjoyable. The Baked Buffalo dip was great, we couldn't get enough :). The Banh Mi was good and I LOVE that they have vegan mayo win-win-win all the way around! I felt the sandwich was pretty basic, it lacked a certain zest or bite until the last few bites at the end where the

The very best thing is the staff. They are cool and they care. The attention to detail for their customers dietary needs, is the best Iv'e encountered I love that they support the community, I love that the food is delish. There is nothing like Rough and Tumble, but I wish there were more places like this.

Came for drag bingo, food was amazing, but Brandi is what kept us here. She hosted drag bingo and we had SO much fun. Hopefully she hosts again, we'll definitely be back :) Dre is also an amazing bartender, so friendly and drinks were delicious. The menagrita is so good

So glad I ended up here for brunch during the US Open recently. Came here to watch the finals and enjoy some good food. I was excited to finally try their brunch options after hearing how good it was! Although we had trouble getting the right spot in front of a tv showing the game, thanks to the owner and staff for getting us seating in the side room and turning on the screen for us. They were so sweet and went above and beyond to make us comfortable :) I really enjoyed my meal and cocktail. It was a hard choice since everything sounded so good! I ended up with the Shredders ranchera waffle. I loved that the waffle was made from potato. Such a cool idea. It was very filling and the meat was flavorful. Maybe adding a little lime squeeze would be nice to finish it off. Looking forward to a return visit here so I can get something else off the menu!

Good brunch! We got there around 10am on sunday and there was plenty of tables but they filled up as the morning went on. Food took some time to come out but nothing crazy long and they offered to change the TVs in front of us to whatever sports we wanted to watch Got the chicken and waffles and ranchera waffle and both were filling/tasty

Another hidden gem in the Ballard area. Parking can be an issue. This sports pub specializes is showcasing women's sports. The inside is quite accommodating for large groups and doesn't feel too crowded. The window seating roof can be opened up during the warmer season of Seattle. Venue is very family friendly and open to everyone. The food and signature cocktails are definitely worth the visit even if you are not a sports enthusiast. Enjoyed the buffalo dip that was very mild heat. Entire was the goat cheese with honey chicken and enjoyed local draft beer and signature cocktail second wind was delicious. The staff is very friendly and I would definitely recommend to family and friends. Max the bartender was very social, friendly and made our visit so much fun.

Came here tonight and did not realize it was drag bingo/Rupaul Watch Party! It was super busy and lively. The staff were swamped, so it did take a minute to receive food and drinks. Regardless, the staff were all friendly. The food was pretty good bar food. I am not celiac, but I am gluten free. Just as a warning, fryers are not gluten free dedicated. We ordered a pitcher of cider which was $34, not a bad deal for 4.5 drinks! Would come back.

Cute place to watch a game! We came here for drinks and dinner and ended up getting a pizza cookie! It was delish! I would recommend ending your night with this sweet treat!

    How we received our hamburger

Horrible service!! Waitress was rude and we waited forever just to get our drink order in, but the waitress was sure quick enough to get a card on file. My friend's hamburger was smaller than bun, the hamburger meat was so small!! and by the end of our drink we noticed there was a larger crack on the glass! It looked under staff with all the people there. And the staff looked overwhelmed!! When we asked for a receipt to make sure we weren't overcharged that waitress stated "it's all right" in a rude tone. Food was okay, drinks were not great at all!!!

Great vegan options! Love that this place is a women-owned & operated sports pub. Kids are welcome and the food is delicious. I got the vegan bahn mi and it was very tasty! We also got the baked buffalo dip with jackfruit in it. I liked it, but it was a bit too vinegar-y for me (Frank's hot sauce is one of the ingredients), but my dad loved it. Someone in my party got the small nachos for a meal, and it was sizeable. Someone else got the fish tacos with tots. Everyone had a great time!

The burger featured a nicely toasted bun with a buttery, crispy crunch, and the toppings were perfectly balanced for my taste. The real star of the meal, however, was the fries. I made a reservation ahead of time, but when we got there around 8 pm we realized we probably didn't need one because it was seat yourself and still pretty open. No complaints though, it made it easy to grab a table and settle in. The vibe was cool. Definitely a sports bar feel with TVs around, and as the night went on the DJ started getting set up which I can imagine makes it a fun spot on a Friday night for people meeting up after work or hanging out with friends. We decided to share a few things so we could try a little bit of everything. We ordered the catfish bites, lemon pepper wings, garlic parmesan wings, and macaroni and cheese. I'll start with the positives because the service was great. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful, which always makes a difference. Food-wise, it just didn't totally hit for me. The catfish bites had a really tasty batter, but the texture threw me off a little. I personally like my catfish cooked a little harder, and these were a bit soft for my liking. The lemon pepper wings were a little too salty for me, and the wings themselves weren't cooked quite the way I like them. I tend to like my wings cooked a little harder, so these felt a bit soft and bulky to me (if that makes sense). The garlic parmesan wings were okay flavor-wise, but still similar in texture. The macaroni and cheese was okay. Nothing bad, just pretty standard. The menu itself has a good mix of comfort food and bar favorites like chicken and waffles, shrimp & grits, burger & fries....so there are definitely options to try. Overall, the service were great, the vibe was cool and I can definitely see this being a fun spot once the DJ gets going and the place fills up. The food just didn't quite land for me personally this time. I gave it 3 stars, but if Yelp allowed half stars it would probably be closer to a 3.5 for me. I'd still be open to coming back and trying a few other things on the menu.

Shrimp toast 3.5/5 Thick, almost Texas style toast but just a small sliver of shrimp paste. The sauce tho, so damn good!
