I'm here right now! This place is AWESOME. They really paid attention to details. I had a parfait and a cold brew coffee since it's breakfast time and it was fantastic. Great setup for watching a game with plenty of screens and seating. The staff was really nice and easy to flag down if we needed something. I don't know how it took me so long to try Rough & Tumble. I visited for the first time on what I knew would be a busy night - it was the second round of March Madness games, as well as the Bachelor finale. (I came early for the former and am only mildly embarrassed to say I was there primarily for the latter. They throw a great watch party. I digress...) The place was absolutely packed. I say that not as a bad thing. It's a huge win to women's sports and the establishments that support them. We love to see it! Shayna was our server. If I was in her shoes, I would have been frazzled by the crowd, but she was such a champ. She was attentive, friendly, personable, funny... all the things that make you want to keep coming back to such a great neighborhood spot. All of the food in our group was delicious. I went here for a watch party with a local organization. There were definitely some things done well, but unfortunately there are some drawbacks as well. Let me start with the positives. It was well-run, the staff was courteous, large TVs are everywhere enabling one to watch a variety of games. The environment is cheerful and open, if a little small. Now the negatives. I got the GOAT sandwich which was made with ingredients that simply did not seem to go well together in taste. The flavors clashed and I would not order that item again. Other people I spoke with seemed to be satisfied with their food choices however. Most of the parking in the vicinity is quite expensive; I had to spend $20 to park for roughly 4 hours on a Saturday afternoon/evening. I came from outside of Seattle and public transit wasn't an option unless I wanted to spend an hour+ on my trip. The final drawback is that the establishment caters to an LGBTQ+ audience with gender inclusive group restrooms. This is a very personal preference that I know many people may not mind but I am not LGBTQ+ and personally prefer my group restrooms to be divided by sex. It wasn't enough to force me to leave early but I would not return. Overall, my verdict would be that this is not a terrible place, but not one I would care to eat at again. I think this could be a great gathering place for the correct niche audience. read more

This was such a lackluster experience. The food was mediocre, the service was slow and almost non-existent, and totally not worth it. We had asked for water and we're directed to a self service jug in the back. Not like this is bad but if your going to be a full service pub I'd expect it to be just that. It took awhile to get our order in, so long that I thought we had already ordered. At one point I had to get to order the drinks for the table as our server was on her phone. Towards the end of the meal the server did t come back to check if we needed anything else (like boxes for food) and we had to go to the bar to get out check as our server was preoccupied talking with a group of friends. I ordered takeout and the servers went above and beyond to make sure I had what I needed. They offered me water and a seat while I waited, then made sure I had utensils and napkins before I left. These are some of the kindest, most thoughtful servers that I've ever experienced. And the food was excellent! I will absolutely be back and will be recommending this spot to others! read more

Good vibes Ballard Sports bar pub. Much needed gathering place primarily for women but very man friendly (25% of clientele tonight). plenty of room to move around, layout, clean and fresh with nice light and windows. Just a few thoughts on how the place could be better; 1st- screen locations do not accommodate those seated facing west. Two full rows of seating with no monitors to view or mirrors to see any games. Given this is a sports bar this is an issue and really needs to be fixed. 2nd- the green salad was way over dressed and the burgers, while looking appetizing, left an unfortunate overly greasy taste in our mouths. Personnel are friendly and the owner/manager is present, on the floor and checks in with clients. This is an example of how to run a sports pub. We love the atmosphere of Rough and Tumble. We went opening week and have been back several times since. The drinks and the food are delicious and you get to watch Women's sports which is rare at any sports bar/pub. Its family friendly with food for the kiddos and coloring pages. It's a breath of fresh air and we will continue going back to watch as much soccer as we can because it's special being around a bunch of people who are there for the same thing. The owners came out and visited with us even put an OL Reign game on for my daughter to watch. Last week we celebrated with our daughter and friends as she got drafted by the OL Reign. It was the perfect place, the staff was amazing, food was great, so many TV's, and everyone was so accommodating. I am so happy to see a place open up that highlights women's sports. It has been LONG overdue. The space is open, gets lots of natural light, and is loaded with TV's to watch whatever sport floats your boat. When I visited it was very busy. Only bar seats were available. For a new business, that's a good problem to have. I also appreciate the decision for all gender bathrooms. Celebrating inclusivity is awesome. They have a full bar and rotating taps and a very good menu. I enjoyed the "Billie Jean King Wings" and the wedge salad. Both were very good. The wings had a nice balance of savory and sweet with just a hint of heat. The wedge stood out with the additional of crunchy fried onions on top. Very tasty. My only criticism is the availability of parking in the area, hence, minus one star. Sundays are especially problematic due to the nearby farmer's market. Happy to support this woman owned business and women's sports! Will be returning. read more

This place just feels like someone's dream come to life. It feels like everything was conscientiously done here. The servers kind of feel like a big family, the owner is just constantly working and on her feet making sure everyone - workers and customers - are doing well. I've come here when there was a USWNT game on during a WEEKnight and it was so crowded. The owner was super upfront about the limited seating and kitchen being backed up, but it was a great atmosphere to be in and I'm glad we stuck it out. Next time just need to arrive way earlier! I can't imagine how packed this would be for an even more popular game or time. There's an outdoor section that I've never sat in, there's a beautiful looking bar area, and there's tons of high tops and table seating. I kindddd of find the food pricey and just ok, but if it's supporting the establishment and you're going to sit there for hours to watch a game you should be buying food! I've gotten amazing hard kombucha on tap here and there's a sizable tap selection to choose from. read more

Great space for LGBTQIA+‍‍folx! Food was surprisingly readily good. It was a packed house for the NCAA Women's Basketball Elite 8 Regional Finals. We got there early (4p) to stake out a table on the enclosed patio. Lots of spare chairs and bar stools. Super fun atmosphere of serious ballers who were intensely cheering on their faves. But Rough & Tumble is so much more than its awesome concept. It's a great place to hang out, period, and i love that it's family friendly.
