Let's start with the ambiance. This brewery gives me all the feels. (I'm a former Denver-ite with high expectations for breweries). Literally a great OK-based watering hole. The beer names are absolutely on point, adding to the ambiance. When I try new breweries I like to test out a flight. They offered such a range of choices I got some of each and was definitely not disappointed. When we were there the kitchen was out of service but the staff led with that information and offered substitutes openly. Great space, great service, great beer. read more

Great lively venue, especially on trivia night. Lots of great menu choices that accommodates food allergies. Enjoyed the mushroom Reuben without a bun and the cheese; fries were great. The beer was excellent (Milk stout) and the cider I had was also outstanding. We attended a Christmas party here and had the entire place to our group. I loved how open the ceilings were in the taproom. Although it isn't a huge space, it is fairly large for the type of venue. The food was just OK. The bartenders were all very friendly and helpful to make suggestions. read more

This is a pretty sweet brewery with a lot of selections. I chose the Migrating Coconuts which is an Imperial Porter with Coconut. Not too rich and very delicious. I brought home a six pack. We ordered the Chili Cheese Fries (Chili on the side) and Thai Chicken Flatbread. It was pretty decent for bar food. I appreciated that the items had fresh jalepeno slices instead of pickled jalepenos. The servers were very informative and friendly. I highly recommend the delicious beers here. read more

When you walk in you are greeted with an open area and a smaller more private area with a big screen, love that vibe! Outside seating is great for a cool afternoon or morning (no judgement). Staff is beyond friendly and great to have conversation with! read more

The atmosphere and beer were awesome. The tap room is quite large but still feels cozy. The beer tenders were amazing and Jason was super friendly stopping by our table to chat and provide us with information on the upcoming weather in the area. I absolutely love this brewery. It's one of my favorites in OKC as a patron for 4+ years now. I've been coming to this brewery before they added the kitchen and restricted fur babies in the building. Dont worry, pooches are still allowed on the patio, it's just a little harder during summer months when temps peak. The vibe is welcoming, comfy and casual. Order food and drinks at the main bar. I decided to try the fried cauliflower wrap w/ fries and their roam & ramble blonde ale. The wrap was delicious with exception to a hidden ingredient not listed on the menu. I guess they drench the greens in a vinegar or vinaigrette which makes the wrap extremely sour. I detest vinegar (with exception to pickles because duh they are delicious). I was too hungry to protest but know my stomach is going to be upset later. Hopefully they can disclose "dressed" food on the menu instead of surprising guests haha the fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Warning, I think their ranch is from a bottle. Service is always top notch and even on the patio other days I have stopped in. Great location to bring the kiddos, family and friends. They have a rack near the restroom with board & card games. They also offer a large enclosed space for special events/parties. We love the Wednesday night Singo events. Fun atmosphere and easy way to win a gift card for your tab! If it's not a Wednesday night you can enjoy the outside area on a nice evening. I'm from out of town and always seek out craft breweries wherever I go. This was a good stop for IPAs and Ethan is a fantastic beertender. The Best!!! Their core beer, Hoptometrist, is tasty...nice IPA. On the flip side, I suggest trying Swamp Puppy, the tasty blue seltzer that tastes great. Glad I stopped in!! read more

The laid-back atmosphere of this locally owned brewery is a must stop for anyone looking for great crafted beers with character! The staff is extra helpful and extremely friendly! Linda and Melaina greated us this afternoon and made sure we were taken care of. If you are hungry...they have you taken care of with a great menu of tasty eats. Established in 2012.

Like any great idea Roughtail was conceived after consuming a few beers. The year was 2011. In 2012 we raised enough money to buy our equipment and it was game on. The brewery officially started selling beer on April 1st of 2013.

I've been to Battered Boar several times and my appreciation for this place increases with every…read morevisit. OKC is home to some truly fantastic breweries but Battered Boar seems to fly under the radar. I only found out about them when they opened just down the road from me, so I had to try them out. The first trip was odd, since they are so different from any other brewery/taphouse I've visited. First, the place is very small, dark and eccentrically decorated with some pretty cool stuff. They have the usual colorful board menu describing all of their beers but you have to look at the tiny whiteboard on the counter to see what they actually have on that day, and it's usually a fraction of what is on the wall. One of the things I don't like is their presentation of the beers. They seem to have a rehearsed spiel they go thru to describe the beers and although they are descriptive, as a beer enthusiast I like a more detailed description I can relate to standard beer styles. But, this is where Battered Boar really stands out, because most of their beers are unique and don't seem to fit into traditional beer categories. I'm not a big fan of all of their beers, but they are extremely creative and all of the beers are very well executed. Their brewers really have their craft honed to perfection. This is some of the smoothest and most flavorful beer I've had and there is zero evidence of any "off-flavors" present. They also have some really cool water chemistry going in that greatly impact the experience of their beers. My favorite beer in their lineup is the Lime Salten. Very bizarre at first, but quickly addictive. Their coconut cream stout is also amazing. For beer lovers, I can highly recommend Battered Boar Brewery. Don't go there and expect to find the latest IPA, Pilsner or Brown Ale. Battered Boar's beers don't really fall into those categories and are so unique. I would love to read an in-depth article on their brewing techniques, ingredients and equipment!

You order and then wait awhile for someone to bring it from a back room you can't see. It was the longest I've waited for a beer at any brewery I've been to anywhere in the US. The staff were friendly. I tried the lime sultan and it was like drinking salt. I wouldn't recommend. My friend had one of their fruity beers which wasn't bad. I would not go back. Hope their set up gets better. They said they had moved there the first of the year and it is now August.

It's worth getting there early as they had a line nearly out the door on a random Tuesday.

Overall, it's definitely a great brunch spot!

I'd read a few concerns regarding portion sizes versus cost, but I'm happy to dispel those narratives. The portions were perfect. While we might be accustomed to over-the-top serving sizes in America, the quality and quantity here were spot on for the price. We enjoyed the Machaca omelet and the Machaca scrambled eggs; both were packed with flavor. We also shared an order of churros that were exactly as they should be: crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and incredibly fresh. Great service, fair prices, and a much less busy dining room. But then again we went on a Wednesday morning. The weekends may get as busy as their family friendly rival down the street.

Everything tasted fresh and someone brought it over to me once it was ready, which was a nice touch. Staff were friendly but not hovering, and even though it started getting crowded, I never felt like I was being rushed out. I'll probably go back and try a different pastry at some point.
