Neon signs and trophies.
Jen-Ann L.

If you're looking for a divey hangout, this place is for you! With neon signs and retro decor (and patrons), this place can be super fun with the right crowd. The drinks are basic and affordable and credit cards are accepted. The bartenders are patient and efficient. They do have a small kitchen that serves bar bites and lumpia! The price was a little steep and they charged extra to use Venmo. I don't think credit cards were an option for the kitchen. The lumpia was larger than normal, fried very well and very tasty! $14 for 10 does seem a bit steep for me though. Note: if you bring a large party like a pub crawl, make sure you call ahead to notify the staff.

I came here specifically to try the turkey bacon club sandwich that I saw on Tik Tok, and the wings. The wings were really good, and they have a lot of different flavors to choose from. The sandwich I had mixed feelings about. The sandwich was huge, and had a lot of ingredients on it. Not much turkey, but was still huge. It was very greasy, and had a LOT of mayonnaise on it. It is definitely bar food. At first I really liked the sandwich. After a few bites into it, i started to get that UGH feeling, like I didn't want anymore. Me and my wife split the sandwich and the wings, and I did finish my half of the sandwich, but the last couple bites were hard to get down. There is no way I could have ate the whole sandwich, and not because I was full, it was just too much grease on the stomach. My wife felt the same way about the sandwich. Im glad that I came out and tried it for something different, and I would definitely come for the wings again, but honestly its not really the kind of place I would want to hang out in for very long, or even come back inside again, so unless I was in the area and was gonna grab some food to go, I probably wouldn't come back. All of their food looks amazing on Tik Tok, so I would definitely recommend coming and trying it out for yourself.

To the locals and regulars that frequent "Round Corner Tavern", this is your no-frills "dive bar" that has withstood the test of time over the years. In my younger days when chugging down drinks was a more common occurrence, I usually found myself coming here on a bar/pub crawl or a spot where I walked in, knew what I wanted, and stayed for an hour, sometimes two, or even through the wee hours of the night. Located in the heart of Midtown Sacramento and at the corner of 24th and S St's, this place has retained much of its charm where not a lot has changed over the years. I came here on a whim and parked only a stones throw away from the main entrance. Inside you will notice a pool table and a fairly decent interior with barstools and regular tables & chairs. The bar itself has everything you need to get you going with several cheap beers on tap as well as all the regular hard liquors to choose from. Surprisingly, they have a fairly decent food selection specializing in all the comfort classics including wings, tacos, burgers, chicken tenders, a BLT, and deep-fried sides. Since I wasn't too hungry, I ended up enjoying an iced cold Pabst Blue Ribbon (on tap) for a very affordable $4.50 for a pint. One thing I particularly like with this place (as well as other dive bars such as "Old Tavern", "Benny's", etc.) is that you can enjoy a night out without breaking the bank. And please drink responsibly by getting a designated driver and/or taking rideshare. However, the service here leaves a lot to be desired. During my visit (which was the night of Saturday 7/20/2024 at around 9:30pm), there was only one bartender working the entire bar. He was helpful and poured my drink while the overall beer temperature was chilled perfectly. So if you're looking for a fancy place, this place ain't it. But if you prefer that true old-school gritty dive experience, "Round Corner" will have you covered. My rating, just an average three stars.

Round Corner is located on the corner of S st and 24th, so pretty much all street parking. We came on a Monday around 6:30 and had zero issues finding a spot. Inside is reminiscent of your typical dive bar, dark and dank. There were a few spots to sit at in front and a few more tables in the back past the 2 pool tables. For those of you who play pool, the bumpers are good, so adjust your game accordingly. This is a cash only bar which I'm not a fan of but beers were cheap, $4.50 for a Corona. They do have an ATM if needed. They also have a touch-tunes style jukebox which hardly no one used the whole time we were there. They do have a few TV's which aired the World Series and some football games. Didn't get the friendliest vibe from the bartender or regular patrons. They do serve food and it smelled good but I just couldn't see $18 for 10 chicken wings, seems a bit too steep for mediocre bar food. The woman's bathroom is super tiny and only 1 stall but was well maintained. They have an "adult" vending machine in the woman's stall instead of your normal tampon machine, which I thought was hilarious. Curiosity got the best of me but unfortunately the machine did not work. There were tampon on the top of the machine tho should you find yourself in need. Overall, just an average dive in downtown. Probably not on my list of places to return unless it's for another pool league game.

I went to a concert at the new building around the corner. Cool atmosphere. Only negative if they wouldn't keep an open tab. But oh well, that's the least of my worries. Drinks are reasonable food and the food looks good. next time I'll ask them.

Round Corner Tavern's AH-MAZING neon sign-5 stars!!!

I was outside taking a photo of the vintage neon sign (a classic old school neon that's one of the best I've ever seen) One of the workers (bartender?) happened to be at the entrance and gave me a short history of the place. Including the time someone drove their truck through the front door. He invited me inside and it was just what you'd expect to see in an old bar, in a good way. Good vibes, friendly patrons and a semi-cranky bartender, also in a good way. If I'm ever back in Sacramento on a hot summer day, I'd seek out Round Corner Tavern in a heart beat & a NY minute. Cheers!

I had some crispy potato tacos here and they were good in a sickly way. Very necessary at certain times in the evening.

Dive Bar somehow pulls off the impossible: it's a neighborhood hangout, a tourist attraction, a…read moredance floor, and a people-watching safari all at once. If you've read some of the one-star reviews, you'll notice a recurring theme: people are deeply offended that a bar contains loud music, dancing, crowds, and occasionally someone who has enjoyed the concept of "happy hour" a little too enthusiastically. That's a bit like giving the ocean one star because it's wet. What really makes Dive Bar special is the staff. After spending enough time there, I've gotten to know almost everyone by name--including the security crew. They are exactly what great security should be: friendly, welcoming, professional, and genuinely invested in making sure everyone has a good time. And when someone decides the evening should revolve around them instead of the other hundred people trying to enjoy themselves, they handle it firmly, calmly, and without drama. Keeping a place fun sometimes means escorting an asshole to the exit, and they do it with remarkable professionalism. The bartenders keep things moving even when it's packed. The servers somehow manage to stay upbeat in the middle of controlled chaos. Everyone seems to understand that hospitality isn't just about serving drinks--it's about creating an atmosphere where strangers can relax, laugh, dance, and forget the outside world for a while. Dive Bar also captures something uniquely Sacramento. It's a little weird, a little flashy, wonderfully unpretentious, and right in the heart of K Street. You never know who you'll meet or what conversation you'll stumble into. College students, professionals, tourists, retirees, regulars--everyone mixes together because everyone is there for the same reason: to have fun. If you're looking for a quiet library, this isn't it. If you're looking for one of the liveliest places in Sacramento to dance, be silly, celebrate life, and remember that adults are allowed to have fun, Dive Bar absolutely delivers.

This bar is truly a definition of a dive bar-dark lighting inside, they tend to play throwback music 100% of the time which is awesome-the bartenders here are always super friendly and always seem young-not always the most experienced bartenders you will run into but they always do their job with lots of enthusiasm and friendly demeanors-I think that's important. The drinks themselves are pretty inexpensive per todays Sacramento downtown standards,I think my old fashioned ran for either $10 or $11 which is pretty good and they are always solid-they make very solid get the job done keep the vibe going level drinks and at that price-that's a winning combination. My favorite part of this bar though for me is easy-it's the outside back patio. It features a few long tables and it's mostly frequented by someone either looking to smoke a cigarette or vape,I personally will go back there and light up a cigar and just enjoy the craziness that occurs back there.By craziness I just mean a lot of people socializing-laughing telling stories and getting along,u literally can strike up conversations with people you never met before just based on the fact that you know anybody who finds themselves in the back outside patio at B-Side knows what's up-nobody lands there on accident-it's a super chill spot with a never ending cast of unknowns who might sit next to you and just be prepared as your probably going to have the most random conversation you have ever had in your life. B-Side isn't a fancy bar or a place to go before a nice dinner-this place isn't for everyone, especially at my age,but if u are ever lucky enough to walk thru those doors be prepared to be transported to a time when all you ever wanted was a place you could kick back-have a cheap drink, maybe enjoy a smoke and just chat with people who don't have their noses buried in their ohones-a true throwback.

When I first started coming, they had a huge spacious outdoor space where you could sit and hang out at, smoke, drink, and play games at. But they had to close this area and it's now a parking lot, leaving a super small awkward and dark "outdoor space" that barely fits a group of people. The inside is dark and a little cramped but theres booth seating and bar space. I honestly like the look and feel of the inside. The drinks are decent and they have DJs on certain nights.
