This is an unusually nice Round Table. We had a lovely time once last winter sitting by the fire, and there are plenty of televisions if your companions are boring. The pizzas have been uniformly what you expect at a Round Table; I am particularly fond of their linguisa. There is a salad bar and you can buy one trip or all-you-can-eat. The one-trip is a bit confusing since you get a plate for the salad bar and it is color-coded as to the difference, but it isn't called one-trip-salad-bar it is just some ordinary name like garden salad. There is a good set of beers and soft drinks. The beer has always been the right temperature. I was impressed that the salad had a chill on it as well as the dressings, on a very hot day. This is our favorite Round Table! We've been coming here for years now and it's because of the great food and service. Everyone here is so friendly and helpful, especially the owners! Every time we are here they know who we are and treat us fantastic. The restaurant is clean and presentable. The are a ton of fully functional games for kids to play as well (most places have broken games). They also have a fairly large banquet room for large groups/parties. First off, it's important to note that I really like Round Table Pizza. This is not a food review. I live in La Mesa, and I just called to order a delivery for myself, and my son. Spoke to the girl who took my order, but at the end she proceeded to apologize as I "wasn't in their delivery area." (Worth noting: I'm a 6 min drive from their location, via Google Maps). Who has a 5 min delivery radius? That's just not going to cut it. And perhaps it's because there is another location closer to me? But, that location is only open Fri-Sun. So M-Th, this is the closest Round Table. I would love to revise this review, if this location revises their delivery radius/schedule. read more

My husband and I have tried almost every pizza place in San Diego over the last 6 years. We have to say that Round Table in La Mesa has become our go to for Sunday pizza, beer, and football. Their pepperoni pizza is fantastic & so are the garlic knots. But what really sets this place apart is the staff. The owner is great and the service here is always amazing. Not certain why this business has such a low rating on yelp? I've read through the majority of them and can absolutely appreciate people's perspective. My family and I have been ordering from this establishment for 4 years. If ever a problem the owner goes out of his way to make it right, even if it means redelivering or a credit back to us. Several grievances... 1. I had a coupon for first responders get 20% off. It says on there not valid for online orders. But deliver and take out are an option. So I called and placed my order of a personal pizza. Then when I brought up the first responder coupon, she says "no it's only for online orders. I tell her "oh it says on the coupon not valid for online orders. So she puts me on hold and then a man answers with an annoyed tone saying "Hello, I've lived here for 30 years what's your cross streets?!" I tell him where and his response was basically that my order was only $10 and it's not worth delivering to me. What's with the whole telling me he's lived here for 30 years??? Doesn't tell me that I needed a minimum order and just hangs up on me. Had I known There was a $20 minimum I would've ordered more. Ok So I ordered online. 2. In my order, the only thing I didn't want were mushrooms.... soooo why on my chicken garlic gourmet pizza there's were only chicken, lots of red onions and a grip load of tomatoes ‍ 3. I had the most disgusting pizza & chicken wings today & so disappointed Additionally when I picked up my order which had several items etc they didnt offer a bag or utensils etc it was just subpar However specifically the disgusting food & the pizza & wings were basically drenched in bbq sauce. Im pregnant and was excited about the lunch special went with my husband the food was decent but the big disappointment was when my husband went to use the parmesan cheese shaker and noticed something weird it had mold growing In it! This chain- as you may notice in my feed/past reviews- has a soft spot in my heart. This is what pizza should taste like, and while their are some independent ones that come close, RoundTable pizza is just good. This particular store is a keeper as well. I've had both in store and delivery at this point and both were better than expected. They are consistent which is the only issue I've ever run into with Round Tables, and it's the difference between a good location and a crappy one. It's worth spending the extra money for good pizza when going the chain route. And besides- each chain is (usually) independently owned, so you aren't really feeding another corporation. read more

Look, I am giving this place five stars purely because it has been an icon of La Mesa for decades and I worked here while in High School many moons ago and the pizza tastes the same and it makes me happy. Seriously, this place has barely changed at all in thirty years... besides the people who work here. Some might see this as a bad thing but I don't. The pizza has this unique spin on it, flavor if you will, just like it did back in the 80's. Every time I visit my folks I insist on getting pizza from here - I love that they put TONS of toppings on, and take it all the way to the edge on their traditional pizza. The restaurant is in a shopping center with lots of parking. The place is very clean, big, and even has video game machines in the back. The pizza is always delicious and comes out hot everytime! The man in the front taking order seemed rude or as if he was forced to be there ( maybe having a bad day), we wanted a small pizza and he said he was out. This happened to me once before at another pizza chain and they gave me other options or found way to accomodate me, but not here. (Oh well, more pizza for me i guess) Overall pizza is delicious everytime and they always get the order right, they have a nice big TV playing a good movie or sports. I have ALWAYS loved this place but the past 3 times I've ordered my pizza is wrong. I always call and complain but waiting an hour for another pizza to come is ridiculous. I never had problems until the past 2 months. We always loved their pizza but NO RED sauce is pretty self explanatory and the past 3 times there is red sauce and not the white sauce ordered. Needless to say tonight was our last try with this location. It sucks cause the delivery drivers are always super nice but 3 strikes and your out! I like this Round Table location. Good family environment. TV's aren't always on the best games but they're always on. The salad bar is just okay... Don't expect it to be fully stocked but, for the most part, it has the major components. Pizza is always fresh and never too long of a wait. Pizza Buffet was fantastic, but it was very messy inside. One of the booths in the sitting area was full of paperwork stacked sky high with office supplies and miscellaneous items. I love that this is a family run place, but it needs to be cleaned up a bit. The staff is really nice and all of the food was good, especially at the reduced price tag.
