2.5 inch plastic filament in our pizza

My son found a 2.5 inch plastic filament in our pizza! Dangerous! He could have had major health problems.

Round Table Pizza has always been my favorite pizza chain in Northern California. This location has never given me any problems in the 7+ years I've been a customer, and when it comes to pizza delivery, they always deliver my pizza on time. I was told that there's a new store manager that transferred from another location; let's hope he's at least as good as the previous guy. I usually just get a large pepperoni pizza from here, so there's nothing fancy to write about it, other than it's always warm and delicious. Lastly... While Round Table Pizza isn't the cheapest pizza chain, the ingredients they use help make up for the extra money you end up paying; I'd rather pay more for good pizza than pay less for bad pizza. I recommend this location to every pizza lover.

It's just too far when you're hungry and slightly hangry... I did a quick Yelp search and was surprised (and excited!) to find LHL Malatang just under 10 minutes from home! The place wasn't busy at all when we got there, which meant no crowding at the buffet style section. I loved how smooth it was to grab all my favorite toppings without having to wait in line. Only minor letdown? There were only a few slices of beef left, so I opted for lamb instead but it still hit the spot. My bowl ended up being about $26, which honestly felt like a steal considering it was nearly 2 lbs of food. Definitely way more affordable than some other spots I've been to. I went with the mild beef bone broth but my Bestie got the sour spicy beef bone broth and wow, game changer. I kept sneaking sips from his bowl! Next time, that's definitely what I'm getting. Super flavorful and it lingered in the best way. All in all, I'm a fan. With how close it is to home, I can already tell this is going to be my new go to malatang fix. Highly recommend giving it a try if you're in the area and to get their sour beef bone broth!

LHL is located in a giant strip mall near Crunch Fitness so warning that parking might be hectic during peak hours. The inside of the restaurant is super clean and sanitary, with a sanitation(?) cupboard for the bowls and tongs. Their sauce bar is clean and well-stocked, however I did feel that their sesame sauce was watered down. I got the spicy bone broth in hot and I thought it had enough of a kick, but I could've gone spicier! My friend and I also felt that their broth didn't have enough of the richness/depth that we enjoy. I'll give them another visit in a few weeks to see if they work out the few kinks. They're offering 15% off your entire bill until mid May in celebration of their grand opening!

I don't remember much about the place so I got no positive or negative experiences I can compare to this visit. I have been to many similar buffets all over Northern California so my expectations are not too high here. My first attack was the sushi bar. Very good sushi selection for lunch. Comparable Tomi and World Gourmet Buffet in Fremont. No complaints. Made my way to the hot foods. Some familiar and some different items. First time seeing curry beef. The stir fry rice noodle they had was bland so I put the curry over it. It was good, I got a second helping. They had a pork ribs soup with either wintermelon or radish, couldn't tell what it was but it gave the soup some sweetness to it. If you're Asian you might have had it at home. It is light and soothing. Different than the usual hot and sour soup which they had but I skipped. Those were the two items I wanted to talk about in my review as no other Asian buffet had these. There are other typical items, aren't much different from other places so I'll keep this short. Must finish your meal with soft serve ice cream! It's comparable to McDonald's just doesn't have the strong vanilla flavor McDonald's has. I got a second cone for the road. I will come back one more time with my dad as he loves buffet like I do.

It had a great mala flavor with a subtle numbing sensation, and the peanuts added a nice crunch and texture to the dish. The Tianjin Eggplant was simple but delicious, with flavorful pork that paired really well with the soft eggplant. Overall, the food here is comforting and satisfying. Once you flip that coaster to green, the parade of meat begins. At around $80 per person before tax and tip, you'll absolutely get your money's worth. The ambiance was excellent. Live piano music set the mood without being overpowering, the lighting was just right, and there was never an awkward bottleneck at the salad bar. Everything felt well organized, which made the experience surprisingly relaxed for such a busy restaurant at peak dinnertime. Now for the important part: the food. They started us off with their gold foil-wrapped tableside top sirloin. A little gimmicky? Sure. But it was delicious and made for a great benchmark against the rest of the meats. One thing I really appreciated was the lack of "filler meats." I genuinely enjoyed almost every cut that came around. A few were slightly salty, and a couple leaned a bit tough, but overall the quality was consistently high. Ironically the servers walking with the filler stuff were the friendliest of the staff and never pressured you to get them (grilled cheese, pork sausage, chicken, etc) Over the course of the meal I had filet mignon, several varieties of top and bottom sirloin, beef ribs, lamb chops, multiple picanha preparations, and even shrimp. I counted 16 servings of meat--probably somewhere around 2,000 calories if I had to guess. Surprisingly, my favorite item wasn't even the beef, it was the grilled pineapple. Juicy, perfectly glazed, warm, and just sweet enough to reset your palate between heavier cuts. I went back for seconds without hesitation. Hell at the end of dinner, it made me crave pineapple juice. Do not sleep on this. As for the meats, the beef ribs, spicy picanha, and bottom sirloin were the standouts: incredibly tender, flavorful, and worth saving room for. By the end I was so full that dessert wasn't even a consideration. I don't see myself coming here every month, but it's one of those dining experiences everyone should try at least once. If you're celebrating something or just want to spend two hours eating an unreasonable amount of excellent meat, this is the place to do it. 4/5 for food, rounding up for attentive service and fun experience. Would recommend.

In the chicken especially, it seemed there were more bones than actual meat which was sad because the chicken was SUPER tasty. Tender and juicy and held the curry just perfect. The naan was also delicious as I prefer a thinner, flakier naan and they delivered! There are many tables and 10 or so seats at the sushi bar. Upon sitting, we had our drink orders taken immediately. The bluefin tuna nigiri melted in my mouth I wish I ordered more. A standout for us was the Toni special roll which has your choice of fish inside with seared salmon and scallop on the outside. This is very much an Asian-American buffet, and it's quite different from something like Hometown Buffet. Instead of traditional American buffet offerings, Tomi focuses on a mix of Chinese-American dishes, dim sum, sushi, seafood, and desserts. They have a section dedicated to Chinese-American fast food (think Panda Express, but greasier), a dim sum section, and a large sushi selection. The dim sum section was my favorite part of the buffet. The steamed buns were surprisingly delicious and were easily one of the highlights of the meal. The dessert section was also pretty nice, with a variety of cake slices and hand-scooped ice cream. Unfortunately, the sushi and seafood sections were where I had the biggest issues. I'm allergic to shellfish but can eat other types of seafood, and I didn't feel comfortable eating much from the sushi section because the cross-contamination risk seemed pretty high. There weren't enough serving tongs available, and I saw customers using the same tongs for shrimp and other shellfish items before using them for salmon, tuna, and other sushi. Because of that, I ended up avoiding the sushi altogether. They also had oysters, but they were the opposite of fresh. I wasn't expecting premium seafood since this is an all-you-can-eat buffet where people generally come for variety and quantity over fine dining, but the oysters were genuinely inedible. They tasted unpleasant and seemed like they may have been from a bad batch. Overall, Tomi has a lot of variety, and I can understand why some people enjoy it as a one-stop spot for many different Asian dishes. However, the quality is inconsistent, and for me, the experience didn't quite live up to the reputation it has as a San Jose staple.
