If you make a meal for a toddler you will be able to afford it, but if you are above the age of 15, and you have an appetite, get ready to pay $25-$30. To add, they also don't have the price marked so you are blindly making a mediocre meal. This is the Rouses I visit. I always get good service and good produce. This is my first and last time buying turkey dinner at Rouses. This store employs horrible employees. I went to the seafood department to get 10 pounds of crawfish. The girl fixed my crawfish, basically threw the bag of crawfish at me and proceeded to tell me to F*** off. This is the type of people Rouses employs! I told her I was going to report her to the manager and she said she didn't give a f***! The manager felt the proper way to handle this was to not charge me for the crawfish! REALLY? Recently, I had an issue with Rouse's on Drusilla in Baton Rouge regarding a catering order. The issue was handled by managers quickly, professionally and above and beyond what I expected. Normally I grocery shop at locations closest and most convenient to me so Rouses does not make the cut but every so often I like to venture further out. This Rouses is fabulous ----while opened for 4-5 years already ????, it still presents as newly opened with the currently amenities people seek--including deli, hot prepared meals, flowers, and sushi available as well as the normal and customary offering you want from a grocery store---food / grocery offerings! I enjoy walking through Rouses to see what it has as well as comparing its inventory with competitors and if it was more convenient for me there is no doubt I would be here more often. Tried this place again after a few years. I wanted to make some good sandwiches. Looked in the bakery section-noticed mold on two loaves right away. Already sliced gam was half gray. Whenever I find unique foods and I always bring my great finds to work for my coworkers to try! Now they started saying, "Where did you find this? Let me guess, Rouses" and they are so right! I must confess I can spend hours anywhere just looking, studying and admiring what a store has to offer. I especially do this with wine since I love looking at the make of the wine, the region, the wine label, the year, the grade and lastly the price! I can actually lose track of time doing this which makes employees at the liquor section start watching me! I love this place but one person can spoil it the experience which I have experienced this twice in the liquor department! The head person of the liquor department is hard to approach especially if I asked for a certain type of wine. Just very short responses and presents herself to busy to deal with customers. I asked her two occasions to research for a certain rose and left my phone number for to call me if she was able to get a certain rose but didn't call me back whether or not if she was able to get the certain wine. Since I regularly go to this location after my workout, I went back and spoke to her (head of the liquor department) again that I left my number to follow up at a previous visit and bluntly said we don't have it. Today, I asked her if they have a certain wine, she bluntly said "NO" I usually don't like mentioning negative experiences especially at a location that I love going to, but this experience has happened to me more than once! Today, I purchased an advertise special in the store that was not marked down at checkout. I'm glad I caught it and was reimbursed for the difference because I do not live close to this location. I understand everyone is stressed and busy during the holidays, but my suggestion if you do go the wine section, just make sure you know what you want to purchase because they do have a good selection of wine! I wish they advertise when vendors or distributors visit this site. The staff has been generally helpful and polite so I will still continue to go here. One person will not stop me from going to this location because I really like their many unique variety and selection of food and wine! read more

Nice clean grocery store. Only problem is they are always out of stock on anything on sale. If a meat or seafood item is listed on sale in their flyer you can be assured they will be out of stock even on the first morning of the sale. read more

This is by far the best Rouses. I live by two in Ascension that were transformed when they overtook Leblancs. I'm not sure if their not held to the same standards but those are not good. The meat only seems to last a couple of days and then it gets a weird smell. No thanks. I take the extra ten minutes to drive to this one and when they have sales I stock up. I come in and get what I need and get out as the cashiers are pretty fast and nice. Check the dates on butter and items in the cooler. Sometimes they are near expiration or expired which means whoever was supposed to rotate didn't but I don't let it bother me too much. read more

The local grocery brand du jour has a location on the outskirts of Baton Rouge that looks like a Whole Foods and offers a ton of selection of basics to specialty items. I would have a much easier time doing the bulk of my shopping here than anywhere else in the area. read more

I love my Rouse's!!!! I've always gone to them in being a Nola native and was sooooo happy once they started popping up in the Baton Rouge area, which I recently moved to! They always have the freshest produce, meats and seafood. Plus you can count on them to carry local products such as sauces, seasonings and craft beers. Their bakery dept is pretty amazing too! Absolutely CAN NOT get breakfast out for 7:00 am. When they have eggs. Sometimes they can't even manage to get the eggs out at all. Eggs have big burned brown chunks which they attempt to hide by stirring in so all the eggs taste burned. Awful. Other times the eggs are like little marbles recommend white gravy if they have that to glue the eggs marbles together. Bacon? No, they serve these brown gelatinous strips for 2.49 on the buffet. This is the only Rouses that I know of that sells the bacon separate on the Buffett. I don't understand. You would think that Rouses's has some company standards. Doesn't seem like it. BTW, don't bother complaining. At first you are well received. Then when store and regional management is unable to correct the problems - they get tired of hearing about it. read more

I love shopping local! I could spend all day in here! Very clean, staff is so friendly and plentiful if you need to seek assistance. I love how they offer a full hot food bar in addition to pre made food, salad bar, sandwich stations, SUSHI & noodles, and lovely bakery. They have an abundant wine selection and flowers! Wow! Produce looks fresh as well as meat and seafood (they offered hot boiled crabs AND a fresh caught shrimp you can grab per pound per your own liking). They share weekly deals online & in-store. Not sure what all the hype is. Standard grocery fare, not competitive in pricing or diversity of merchandise. I can walk in with a list of relatively basic/common items (ripe avocados, purple onion, etc) and discover that the produce selection is lackluster. Take a quick trip to Alexanders just down the road, and my list is fulfilled within 20 steps of walking in. Rouses, I'm going to need a better reason to visit your establishment. Fantastic store! Reminds me of a mini whole foods. Tons of beautiful arrangements- flowers, pastries and seafood. Plenty options when it came to produce. Even saw a man selling his local products in store. I thought that was awesome- giving back to the community in this way. I was surprised to see an armed guard walking around. Love the new Rouses Market! The staff is always friendly and helpful and love seeing all the local ingredients available. The prices are higher in most cases compared to other grocery competitors but understandable given the selection and availability of local and hard to find items. read more

Very rude cashier on register 6. She did not great me as a customer and started scanning my items while throwing them to the bag guy! .She looked me up & down as if I were an enemy! We come here just about every day whether it's for groceries or just to pick up lunch. Everything is always great & they have outstanding customer service. Last week I was stuck there with my 4 year old daughter during a tornado down the street. It is not handicapped friendly (blocked aisles, bread all over the floor while it's "sorted", that kind of thing, and Heaven forbid you should suffer an injury, the manager can't be bothered to file a report. Where do I start with this store. It is very nice and well stocked grocery store. If you are looking for a meal, cake, flowers , meat, wine etc. This store has everything from sushi to a salad bar. I have tried the salad bar, I am now in love. I also have tried the sushi it is good as well. There cakes are so delicious too. Sometimes my co-workers and I come here for a quick meal. My first visit.. I was surprised as I walked in and The deli was impressive. I ordered a brisket Plate to go, I did a little shopping bought a pound Of hamburger meat. Very pleased they finally opened one up in our area. One of the friendliest staffs you could encounter. Every time I'm there with my son they always have an employee there to offer him a cookie which can keep him busy while I look at all the good food to eat. Oh Rouses my sweet Rouses! Being from New Orleans where there is a Rouses in almost every neighborhood. I was so happy to see a location come to Baton Rouge. I went on opening day, I could not wait for them to open. Everything I expected and more. This place is awesome , fresh cooked food, a Mongolian grill, bakery, custom meats, fresh fish. I can go on and on. One thing that that I really like that keeps me coming back is the staff. These people are so nice and helpful like they love being there. A little higher than Walmart but better quality products, cheaper than Whole Foods for fresh meats and fish. read more
