I did adore my first two experiences here for both food, beverage. That changed this evening when our waiter placed our cocktail order with the apps. On a slow evening with plenty of staff, it took 20+ minutes to receive a drink with dinner. The manager acknowledged this and offered a round gratis and almost instantly (yay) asked if we'd like to grab another round. The drinks looked fantastic so we said sure. We asked for the check as well. Okay, round 2. The restaurant had died down at this point and the bar staff is intermittently occupied. So, this round takes a healthy 15+ minutes to deliver the drinks. Now, only 5 tables are occupied and hadn't received the tab. From that point...it took yet another 15 minutes. Is food and beverage + atmosphere amazing? Yes. I love this place but please give me a reason to make this 5 stars by improving responsiveness. We weren't in a huge rush here and enjoyed ourselves despite the service glitch. read more

We were going to Cedar Street Pub and it was closed. We decided to give this place a try. On a Saturday night, there were plenty of empty tables (not a good sign) and even fewer people were eating (smart), most were drinking. Still, we thought, "how can you mess up a burger and fries?" The waiter was perfunctory and robotic, void of any personality, but competent. We ordered the fried mushrooms as an appetizer and they arrived molten hot, with searing, greasy oil dripping from them. We tried a few and they weren't bad. Only after they cooled, did we notice a "tinny" taste, like the mushrooms were canned. - ick! The burger and fries arrived and, sadly, the fries were old, limp, and cold and I hope they weren't recycled. The burger was horrible, I only took a couple of bites. The meat patty was very salty and the bun was so old, it fell apart in my hands. So we went away pretty hungry. Oh, the waiter cheered up when he presented us with our automated check, with options for only a 20% and 25% tip. Worst of all, we paid for this meal "gastrointestinally" for a couple of days after. Update: so the no to-go order thing was just for their first few weeks (communication is key). They are now doing to-gos which is awesome. The food is pretty good, i would like a little more on the menu but what they have is pretty good. Service is still finding its way. We came for Sunday brunch and the server we had was just a bit slow. I would eat here again. Original : I heard the food was mediocre at best however, For a restaurant that's going to be open late on the strip it's very interesting that they refuse to do to go orders. Its 10:30 And I was told promptly by the bartender that they just do not do to go orders. This should not be a surprise since I called six times prior to actually walking into the restaurant. For a restauranteur that has a history (see other concepts i.e. streets) of providing exceptional service this really just baffles me The to go orders are out of their Realm of possibility especially being open late. Went for brunch on Sunday for the first time, of course it was pretty busy but they got us in quickly! We sat in the patio which was heated thankfully, our server was very attentive and sweet (I don't remember his name) we got a bottle of champagne and some food. I went this past Sunday and I loved this place. I had the Infamous Cheese Fries and the Boneless Buffalo Bites both were amazing. I can't remember the last time my food came out in under 10 minutes hot and fresh anywhere. The Server and other Staff checked on me ensuring everything was to my satisfaction. We came here on a Sunday afternoon for mimosas & food. I had the pulled pork sandwich & it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Loved the bread, it was so buttery & kind of crispy. The salad was good too. My sister had a burger & ate all of it. Fries were good too. However, our waiter wasn't the best. Once our food got dropped off I realized my salad was missing from my dish. I made several attempts to get her attention but she just wasn't paying attention to our table. I did eventually get my salad at the end of my meal. We have been excited to give Roy G's a try ever since we heard it was taking over the old Zephyrs spot. We purposely waited a month to let them get the systems down. Evidently, a month was not long enough. Five of us stood at the door waiting for someone to either seat us or let us know to pick our own table. Several employees made eye contact, but no one came over. I finally asked at the bar and was told to sit anywhere. We picked a great table on the patio overlooking the Strip. After 15 minutes and no employee willing to make eye contact, we decided Roy G's hasn't quite gotten their systems worked out. We ended up walking down the street to Street's Chicken (Roy G's sister restaurant). Great food and service. There is still hope for Roy G's. Certainly hope they can pull it together. We would love to support another restaurant in the hood. read more

I loved the mushrooms so much I took an order home! Reminded me of the fried mushrooms I used to have at Mama's Restaurant in San Antonio many moons ago! The pulled pork sandwich was stuffed with pork. Only two salads on the menu so it's almost impossible to stick to a low carb diet but it was worth the cheat. You could always eat the pulled pork without the bread I guess! Good sweet tea. read more

I come to this place every few weeks for a bite to eat or just a drink. Each time I come I have a good time. I last visited 2 weeks ago on a Sunday and had brunch on the patio. The server was very upbeat, pleasant and efficient and the drinks were flowing. They have a mimosa tower which is a fun gimmick. Burger and fries are tasty. Listening to him tell others same way they left. He advised can order drink from bar, however, you need to go outside over there. My name was never taken. While I waited more than one table wasn't impressed with food. I had two items. Salad and sandwich. Both items missing key ingredients. When brought to whom I think was manager attention of items missing. In a nonchalant way respond you want a bag of chips togo. I'm not sure if I'll return. After waiting for some time I went back inside and there was no wait staff to be seen and or a bartender. I left. Someone needs to remind these folks that is older people you shouldn't ignore us. My friend and I came for a late lunch on Thursday. Promptly greeted and was told we could sit anywhere. Waiter was friendly and attentive. We ordered the Snookie's cheese fries (they tasted better than I remembered and they're so good!). My friend ordered the hickory burger and loved it, and I had the fried chicken sandwich. It was a HUGE portion. The breading has a hint of pickle but it was also light and fluffy. Not like most fried chicken sandwiches. Very very very good. Part of it ended up falling out in my basket and I couldn't finish it so I made my friend try a bite. He ended up eating the rest. Also I have to say the glasses of soda and iced tea we had were served in big glasses...I hate restaurants with little glasses. Atmosphere was very nice as well and the patio will be extra nice during nicer weather. Owner even stopped by to ask if we enjoyed the cheese fries. I went to Roy G's today and had an awful meal and and awful dining experience. After 15 mins of waiting for a waiter, I noticed that he had just been staring at me instead of attending to me (because of the color of my skin I presume). He came to my table with a dismissive demeanor and offered me "cheese quesadillas" (what is, what i've been told just now, is the meal they serve to people they don't want to come back). I received my cold quesadilla and my flat mimosa, while also listening to racist banter among the other patrons, and promised myself never to eat at this ****hole again.
