Absolutely amazing food! I ordered the mansaf and kunafa, and both were incredible. The portions were generous, the prices were very affordable, and everything tasted fresh and homemade. Honestly, this was the best mansaf I've had--even better than the mansaf I ate in Amman, Jordan! The owner was also so kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. You can tell he really cares about his customers and his food. I'll definitely be back tomorrow for a beef shawarma . So much amazing flavor! We got the Bukhari and Zerbian Combo plates, which comes with choice between hummus and babaganoush, PLUS choice between tabouli or fatoush salad, pita bread, and some cheese egg roll thing. I forget the name. All I know it was delicious. Portions are great and we feel the pricing is fair. The gentleman helping us gave us samples of the drinks since we expressed a desire to order something, and all 3 were yummy. We ended up taking a pineapple and the cucumber lime juice. There is an array of dessert choices, coffee, tea...definitely plan on coming back for that famous Baklava cheesecake Also, it is obvious how much care and pride that the owner takes in his service and product. Because he ran out of the topping for the cheesecake, he suggested we wait. If we wanted to eat the kenefah(I dont know how to spell it! Ah!) He said he would need to warm it because we must eat it melty. Honestly a long overdue review, but that doesn't mean we haven't been thinking about returning to this food truck! It is an unexpected treasure of flavors. If it's your first time, the owner offers you samples of three drinks and seven (I think?) types of rice and explains which meats are paired with each. This helped us so much with ordering. We ended up choosing chicken mandi combo and zerbian combo rice but you wouldn't have been wrong with any. We were blown away by the flavorful, FALL OF THE BONE lamb. Can't imagine how long that was cooking for! The owner also gave us two full size complimentary drinks. Service is incomparable. At the end, even though we were stuffed, we couldn't resist the desserts and bought a pistachio raspberry honey cake. His wife makes them and sells them at the farmers market too! Such delicate flavors and immaculate presentation. The only downside I can see is that there is only outdoor seating, which takes away from what otherwise is fine dining level food. Just the nicest guy in the world. Running a food truck, I can only imagine, is an incredible undertaking. The food preparation in such a confined space belies me. Yes, in spite of the innumerable challenges, the Royal Arabic pulls it all off. Great service. Great food. Genuinely honest prices. The food has a particular flavor, and herbal essence, that is not one I would have gravitated towards. However, the combination of textures - the cheese "thing," oh my gosh - and herbaceous goodness that all come together. My unsolicited suggestion is to try a variety of different dishes and see what pops out for your tastes. Sticking with an ala carte order allows you to get a bunch of different dishes and not break the bank. One thing to remember, the shared parking lot is not the easiest place to get into. Husband and I stopped at this cart the other night. The owner was very friendly, offered us samples, and we ended up having a delicious meal of Royal Special Rice (both the lamb shank and the rice with ground lamb were delicious) and a very tasty pistachio pudding. The service here was friendly and very welcoming! The dishes were really tasty and felt like they were made with care! We've had their desserts (which are fantastic) at the Saturday Market before, and we're very glad that they have a food truck now for hot dishes. The Arab to Latin America pipeline came thru in one of the best champurrado I've had here in Portland! They use actual lamb shanks for their lamb dishes and the rice was cooked perfectly!
