Summer 2021 we decided to install flooring and selected Royal Flooring in order to support local, Arab business. Their ad says they beat any price which isn't true, but we went with them regardless in order to support an Arabic business. We informed them that there are procedures outlined within our condo rules of placing floors and they insured us that this is the policy they follow as well. The first time they installed the floors they did not follow the procedures. Our floors were sinking and there was a gap between the flooring and underneath it was hollow. We called the company since it's under warranty and they gave us a date and time the inspector would show up. They did not respect the time or appointment that THEY gave us. When they finally came the inspector said they need to add stud to the floor in each room which we refused because it didn't make any sense. After going back and forth and countless useless visits, we requested another inspector. That's when the owner of the company said he'll send a new team. A team came to us on time and said that the flooring is completely wrong, not leveled, and missing steps that should have happened. They had to remove all of our flooring and do the whole job over again. The company followed through with this and did a better job this time around. It took them a week vs the initial couple days from the first installment. A year later we see flooring getting loose, soften, and pieces shifting. We called them and like always they didn't show up on time, respond, or call back. They left us for months without a call back. When someone finally showed up to take a look he said they'll contact us in 48 hours but no one ever did. They're not abiding by their warranty policy and say it'll cost an average of $700. They say we have a water leak which is absolutely not true. Even so, it's been a month and no one has even contacted us back. We do not recommend this company. read more

I wanted to update my review because three hours after I posted it, I got a call from Art Jones, a VP there. He was very concerned about it and wanted to see how he could make things right. He told me he has stock in the company, it's a small family business, COVID has left them with less workers, and a bad review could be detrimental to their business. I explained I really, truly, take no pleasure in giving one-star reviews. It only happens when I feel I genuinely need to warn other buyers to keep them from having bad experiences. On the whole, I give about three times as many 5-star reviews as 1-stars. But there were so many problematic events along the way with my flooring experience, I had to stand by my review. He then asked me to tell him all about it. *This is what I had hoped would happen ANY TIME during the process.* It is a shame it took a poor review to get the attention of management, but as the owner (who also got on the phone at one point) explained, he was under the impression I *had* been called after the floors had gone in... Apparently he has two employees whose jobs are simply to touch base with clients after having floors installed. The owner lamented that they preferred to "get paid to do nothing." I told my whole story in (if you can believe it) more detail than my review went into. They listened. They *apologized.* They apologized profusely and not just in words but in actions. They are sending me a partial refund (AT NO POINT did I ask for this, nor angle for it) which will compensate for the time I lost at work. When they first offered it I was clear it wasn't necessary, but they insisted. It is a very kind gesture. Art also said the first contractor I spoke with (Saturday's rainy day driver with the masklessness and the rudeness) would be suspended as would Rene who never provided me with an apology or kindness while I struggled to reschedule (and lose) shifts at work three times to accommodate the flooring. I am sorry that they will be losing two weeks of wages. Genuinely. I'm not a person who feels like justice has been done when I hear of the toll it takes on someone else. But I also feel better giving Royal Home Flooring a higher ranked review because I feel the management may have realized some bad apples were spoiling the bunch. It is my deepest hope, that the concerns both Art and the owner expressed are genuine and will result in a coming together of management and employees to try to rebuild enthusiasm for the company and respect for employees, bosses and clients will naturally follow. I appreciate Art and the owner's concern over righting wrongs. And I believe them when they say my incident was a perfect storm of missteps that is not an indication of how their company operates. read more

The floor is absolutely beautiful I couldn't ask for it to be any better. after a few hiccups in the beginning in November we were finally able to have our floors installed in January. My Only negative regarding this is the molding that they placed around the perimeter of my home This was never discussed and what they put is literally Orange. so make sure you discuss this with them. I will be calling and finding out if there's anything I can do short of short of calling a carpenter and replacing it. also we had to have cement leveling done and not aware that it was going to leak through the upstairs to the downstairs and found it 2 days later in the laundry room in a puddle along the laundry room floor and on several items. We are working and cleaning that up. But all in all I am very happy with my flooring read more

The Customer Service is AMAZING! They are very responsive, polite and efficient. The reason for my 3 star rating is the quality of the Mohawk Engineered wood that was installed. The floors have dings, small holes and scratches. I live alone and don't have a lot of visitors. I would expect some wear and tear over time, however, the floors were installed in April of 2021. I shutter to think how they would look if I had small children, a pet or for that matter anyone else living here. I shared my concerns with Royal Flooring believing that my warranty would cover either the replacement or repair. I was told that the damage to the floors were "user error." I will take that to mean that I should steer clear of walking, sitting or cleaning my floors for fear of even more damage being done to them. I would NOT recommend purchasing the MOHAWK ENGINEERED WOOD flooring. read more

Go elsewhere! Poor workmanship and poor quality product. We had our wood floors refinished. First, the sales person misinformed us about our ability to be in the house. We got displaced at the last minute with kids and pets. He lied to us to make the whole process to sound less inconvenient for us. No apology. Nothing. So the experience of having it done was very bad. Then the workmanship was sloppy. In many areas it looks like they didn't clean up the wood dust after sanding it and just put the color and coat over it. They did not even completely finish job which we complained about. The company did not satisfactorily resolve or discount the price either. The coating/resealant we were told was hard and durable, that was a lie too. Within 6 months the floors looked just as bad if not worse than before we had it done. I could have gotten the same durability using a couple coats of clear nailpolish. Everyday it angers me when I look at my floors and see we wasted the money on them with this company. It adds salt to the wounds when guests come to my house and say you should have your floors redone. read more

Larry was an awesome sales rep! I scheduled an appointment for a consultation week of 3/13. Larry showed up on time and brought a lot of samples with him. We felt no pressure at all. When we decided to purchase Royal Home Floors pricing was much lower compared to its competitors. We decided to get LVP at the entry area and kids bedroom and good quality carpet replaced throughout the rest of the home. The installers were amazing. 2 man crew showed up for the LVP install on Sat 3/25 did a great job. 3 man crew came for the carpet install on Mon 3/27. My wife and I were interested in getting our hardwood floors refinished. We met with Nathan Murray in late April to get an idea on pricing and what the job would entail. Nathan gave us a very fair price. He brought up aspects of the job we had not considered. He also set up a date within a week or so to start the job. We were very pleased with that. The crew was great. They were very clean. We didn't have to lift a finger. They moved all the furniture. When the job was complete on the third day everything was back in place. I got a really good deal on vinyl flooring. I can admit I really like the floors I chose but the work is not to my satisfaction. I understand they had to pull up the base board trim to do the Installation however the replacement work is EXTREMELY sloppy. The trim is very loose and pulling away from the walls for no reason! The Following weekend I was having bedroom furniture delivered, so I decided to get a head start by breaking down the bed, 2 days after they installed my floors, I took the mattress and box spring off the bed frame and noticed 2 long deep scratches in the floor. I took pics and emailed them immediately. So here we go, it's a case of my word against theirs, and they wanted to charge me for the repairs. A good reputable business would have eaten the cost to satisfy the customer... I had to talk to several managers to get them to bring the cost down some. If you choose to do business with them, PLEASE be sure to check the work before they move furniture back. read more

We had high hopes for Royal Home Flooring. When Sam Hassan came into our home, he was professional and knowledgeable. We found the vinyl we wanted quickly. Soon, we decided to purchase the flooring, some refinishing and risers for our stairs to the family room, and quarter rounds. We asked if they would be okay with coming back to install the quarter rounds on a separate date from the flooring (because another company was finishing the baseboards installation first). Sam said no problem; we just need to arrange the installation date later for the quarter rounds. The flooring installation day was great and flawless; it looked wonderful. The day for refinishing of the stairs and installation of the risers for the stairs was a slightly different story. It wasn't until that morning that the installers told us that the risers for the stairs were unfinished and that we would need to paint it white ourselves. When we purchased the risers from Sam Hassan, we said we wanted white. That would have been a good time for him to inform us that they would come unfinished and that we'd need to paint them. While Sam eventually apologized, it seemed to us like an oversight, or simply rushed business to make a sale. Finally, last Saturday, 9/10/22, they were supposed to come by our house to complete their job by installing the quarter rounds to our baseboards (this is the ugly part of this whole business transaction). I spoke with an office lady a week before the install date to set it up and she said the guys would come between 3-5 on 9/10/22. Guess what happened? It was a no-show. The weekend of the (1st) no-show, I called the store and Sky N., a sales manager, answered the phone and said there was no record of the installation appointment. She was nice and helpful, and tried to make it right by setting up and appointment for the quarter round installation for today (9/17/22) between 3-5. I got a text confirmation yesterday (9/16/22) that the job was estimated to start at 2 PM. It's today, 9/17. Have the quarter rounds been installed? Nope! I called the store at 3:15 today to see if there's an update on when the crew would arrive to finish the job. A service manager, Samantha Herrera, whom I haven't spoken with before said she would call and check with the crew after I briefly explained my frustration regarding the no-show from a week before. She eventually called me back close to 4:00 PM and said the crew is in Gurnee and won't finish that job until 7-8. Silence. So I asked if they're coming after that. She said they won't. And they won't come on Sunday. Or Monday. The best she can do is have a crew she trusts (one she said she trusts to arrive on time...so, there are workers they don't trust to arrive on time?) come on Tuesday morning. Two no-shows. If I didn't call to ask about it, would someone even have contacted me to let me know? I don't know, but I'm doubting it. Before I got off the phone with the service manager Sam from today, I asked her to send me a confirmation email to provide details about the appointment for Tuesday, 9/20/22 (she mentioned between 8:30-9:00 AM). She said she would email me right away and asked that I email her back to confirm that I received it. Still no email confirmation from her yet. The flooring looks great, though, and I'm sure it'll look great still in a few minutes when I have to go downstairs and put all of the damn furniture back again just to pull them all away from the walls again when Royal Flooring is supposedly going to come to install the quarter rounds. Do NOT do business with this company! Somehow the reviews here appear great, but their Better Business Bureau complaints tell the real story (go check those out). We used RHF to remove some tile and install hard wood and refinish some already existing hardwood floors (a $27K job). The sales guy "seemed" great. He made us all kinds of promises about how the installers work directly for them so that they know they do good work and that you "gotta watch out for the companies with really good salesman, they work for the worst companies that's how they stay in business". We should have seen that as a red flag because its exactly true. From day one, this company messed up... They sent materials a week earlier than expected, they sent the dumpster days earlier than expected, they showed up on day 1 only to tell us they couldn't actually start that day, then returned on day 2 and told us they couldn't finish the project in the promised time frame (which we had planned around us being out of town so that we wouldn't be in their way and because they were doing our entire 1st floor so we wouldn't be able to access anything in our house) and that they would need an additional week. We communicated both with the sales guy and the installer how we wanted our floors done in an area of our house where new wood was going to meet old wood. They started the work and put it in wrong, so we called the office, had the VP call us back and promise to handle it... he never called back. We continued to call the office for an entire week with promises of calls back... nobody called back. During this week a bunch more issues came up, including some pretty serious damage to our walls, wainscoting, door frames, etc. up to knee level in some spots (their "fine print" says "scuffs will occur... our door frames, trim etc. is now missing chunks, drywall is ripped, there are dips and sways and a large squeak in the floor, etc.) and they didn't remove all of the quarter round from 2 rooms that we had paid for. Finally they sent out a supervisor. The supervisor looked at everything, ensured me he would call me with a resolution and never called back even though I called him 2 more times directly. Several more days go by and at this point our floor is "done". The installers attempt to "fix" the damage they have done by painting it, which did nothing to correct the damage and still looks terrible. They also got stain all over the quarter round that they hadn't removed and then attempted to paint that and got paint all over the floors, which again, looks terrible. They were also planning to put white quarter round around my dark wood cabinets, and had I not caught it before hand, that's how they would have left it. After many more calls, I finally was put in touch with the VP of sales and sent him all of my complaints. I then sent him a quote from another contractor to repair all of the damage they had done and asked for a refund in that amount ($4680) He issued a $2000 refund and I was told more people would have to come back to my house to look at things in order to get the rest. They came back, and it was then that we found out that the installers don't even work for them like the sales guy said they do. The installers "get job offers through an app and then accept or decline them" (this is per the installer) and are entirely 3rd party. They then talked to the owner of the company about our complaints. The owner couldn't even be bothered to pick up the phone and instead sent an email that basically said we have to let the installers come back and fix their terrible work and when we said no, they should have done it correctly the first time they were here and that we would not have them back here he basically said "too bad, our paperwork says this will happen" (which again, it does not state anywhere) and then tried to take the $2000 refund back and threatened to put a lien on our house. I have never in my life seen such poor customer service and now we have to spend the extra money to get everything fixed. Find another company to do business with! read more

The workmanship looks amazing however I was originally told that I my vinyl flooring would be uniform to my hardwood flooring stain but when the contractor came in he informed me that they didn't have the stain that color. After calling and complaining they were in fact able to make the hardwood stain gray to match the vinyl. Other than that the service was great and fast! I had plank kitchen flooring put down in 2018 the floor has started to peel up. I contacted the installation manager and was told they had no record of the install because it was more than 2 years old. I was asked to send in pictures of the floor and was told that it's was water damage. I explained to her the damage is under my table not by any running water or water source, damage is ONLY on the seam. I explained repeatedly that the damage was in fact not water. I was then told that someone could come out and INSPECT the floor for a $150 charge. I'm still however am being told they have no record of the install after 2 years but you offer lifetime warranty on the install (how would you honor that with no record). I was then told she would search the paper files for the records and that's been 2 weeks ago and I haven't heard anything. They also installed same type of flooring in my bathroom in 2019 using CHEAP press wood quarter round. They even had the nerve to put it in front of the tub which is senseless considering that is an area that gets wet constantly. Needless to say the quarter round fell apart causing the other pieces to separate that was connected and now they're damaged. Over $6000 I spent with them and I can't even get a call back. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone that are not forthcoming and evade any liability that will cost them money. read more

He was understanding and apologetic, and like many small businesses, Royal has faced issues during the pandemic.
