Went in for a gel pedicure yesterday. Everything started off okay until the lady doing my pedicure cut my big toe nail. I felt something rip off but didn't budge and she didn't say anything. As I watched my toe bleed for the next few minutes, she still did not say a word. She then stuck my foot back in the water and proceeded to do the other side. When she took the foot that she cut out of the water it was still bleeding. She couldn't get the bleeding to stop and about 20 minutes later, she finally asked if I was okay. Once she could get the bleeding under control, she finished up and then I was still charged $50 for my pedicure and no apology. Now today my toe is swollen and incredibly sore. I will not be returning and would advise anyone reading this to go elsewhere for a decent pedicure. read more

We walked in at around 5:20pm today for 3 pedi's (Sunday) not realizing they were closed and were finishing up other clients. This place is terrible. I try to give them another chance only to be disappointed. I did a gel pedicure with hot stone and manicure with buffing. My technician started on me about 5 minutes after two other ladies who did regular color and no hot stone yet with my gel pedicure and hot stone my service was completed before theirs. I was in shock when she only rubbed the hot stones on my shins for 30 seconds. Not even on the back of my calves. I thought maybe she would go back to that side one she finished my other leg but same thing. I even times it with the timer on my phone and my left leg was 24 seconds with hot stone!!! Why am I paying extra for less time and quality!?! Then for my nails and the buffing she literally rubbed lotion on my hands and arm for 30 seconds each didn't even rub the lotion all in and done. When I asked for buffing she didn't tell me it would be $10 extra charge and it's not on their price list. I'm sitting outside as I write this and don't know what I should do. I spent a $100 for this and it all took less than an hour. I'm so disappointed that I decided to give this place another try. What a waste of money. read more

If you like art nails and someone who is extremely creative and artistic I would highly recommend seeing June however, you must allow time as he will not rush through your service because he creates what I would consider perfection! Coming off of leave and going back to work in a matter of a day means I had to get my nails fixed back to work-appropriate nails. I was having issues with a couple of other salons saying they had too many customers, so I called Royal Nails and they were happy to take me in. I had special gel, & without getting specific it wasn't clear gel powder like they normally use, so I asked the lady to just put clear on top and call it a day and she happily abided. Can I just say that I am absolutely in LOVE with the shape she gave me?! I told her I had to get short nails, but I didn't want fat square ones and she truly did come in the clutch. Picture attached. First off RUN do not go to this location!! They REUSE tools on there clients. This place looks clean until you sit down and look around OMG I was in horror. I couldn't believe it! Trust me I pay attention. When I saw that the client next to me get up and leave and the next client sat down and the tech used the same tools on her feet I cringed made sure to go straight home wash my feet and spray rubbing alcohol hoping that it would remove the bacteria that may have been left on my feet and calves. 5 stars for sure! I don't get acrylic nails often, maybe once or twice a year. So when I do I want them to be extra special. Take a look at this photo of my nails. I had an idea of what I wanted from Pinterest. Travis was able to do the job! He was actually not bothered by my request but exceptionally stoked to do my nails. I was very impressed! I come here often for regular gel manicures pedicures and always have exceptional service. They don't rush which makes you feel more like a valued client than just a paying customer. They are good at accommodating if your friends want to sit next to you. Their best pedicure is so worth every penny! Compared to other pedicures on the island, what you get here is sooo amazing. Cheap but extremely poor service. I came here with my friend the get pedicures and they didn't do a great job. It was very short and rushed, nail job was a little sloppy (paint not perfect, crooked/ uneven nails). They cut my friend's toe with unsterile clippers and kept putting acetone on the cut (burned her a lot). I didn't even feel my massage they gave me. Near the end, I asked the lady if I would receive a massage and she said it was already done when I conversation with my friend and I was too distracted to realize. I smiled and said okay. Please keep in mind that we both paid for the deluxe. It felt like we were in and out in 20 minutes. Very unsatisfactory. Also nothing used was sterile or looked sanitized. I came to this nail salon because the prices looked excellent compared to other salons on island and the reviews seemed to be pretty good. However, I would have been 1000x better off picking off my own acrylic nails. I had Tony, he didn't soak my nails or anything before removing them. It was the worst pain my nails have ever gone through. I've never had a nail salon remove my acrylics the way Tony did. I was cringing the entire time. I let him know it hurt and he just said oh it hurts? ... I asked for a basic mani afterwards so my nails still looked nice and could get a rest after having acrylics on. They look like toddler nails.. smudgy, because he rushed, didn't have me sit under the light to dry, he just turned on a mini fan to dry my nails & there are little chunks of acrylic still stuck on them. 2 stars because the prices are decent, but you pay for what you get, right? read more

I've been coming here for almost a year, I live in KoOlina. Royal Nails is a great place, super clean, super great workers - all are nice and good; but my favorite is Dennis. Dennis has great strong hands - his two minutes massages are amazing! I feel so relax and rejuvenated after! They do all types of nails and waxing at very good prices. I prefer the simple mani/padi but had the gel done. On a Friday afternoon and weekends it can get busy, you might have to make an appointment. Many people from Ewa and Waianae come here. Never ever going to this nail place again. The lady who did my nails tried to basically tell me ripping off my acrylics is better than soaking them. I'm sorry but last time I checked what the customer wants the customer gets. When she finally did soak them like I asked because taking them off the way she did was hurting, the owner then came over and stopped my hand from soaking and started doing what she originally was doing. The fact that she kept pressing me for things I didn't want nor can I get b/c of my job; not following what I politely asked for .. so disrespectful to me as a customer. Im paying for quality, not for you to be cheap and fast because you don't want to take my nails off the right way. My natural nails are now fragile because the top layer is ripped off & they cut my nails down in random places because they clearly just did not care about my natural nails at all & were just trying to get the acrylics done (keep in mind the lady was tracking that I had on gel nail polish on top of my acrylics.) I went to the nail place to get my nails off the right way so I wouldn't damage them myself but she ended up damaging them anyway. Also I'm a generous tipper when people do a great job. Like I said I'm willing to pay for quality, but she definitely did not deserve a tip & her manager needs to revise his tactics and how his employees do their jobs. I did not have time to go get my nails done at another place & she's lucky the new set turned out ok or I wouldn't have paid a dime for the service I received. I had Travis and he was honestly soooo so kind! He paid very close attention to my nails and was very patient with me. He can ask Lee... she offered to put new gel after removing the second of the two chipped chrome jobs...I was not going to chance it, not even for free but particularly not after paying over $120 just for my nail and toe polish with no manicure or pedicure. She offered me to do gel for $15... why would I even agree? Better question is why they kept offering to me it as they NOW are saying, "my nails are too short!" I had actually asked in the first visit if I should have tips put on my fingernails first and was told, "No, I can put chrome on your fingernails." I trusted Lee...OMG! I love going here for pedicures, I would give them 5 stars for their pedicures alone!! They don't charge an arm and a leg and they make it worth your while. Also, the massages are nice and long, unlike most other places I've visited. My nails are still bleeding right now, 2 hours after I left. Where do I start? I guess the same way everyone does with walking in the door. The place is being renovated which is why I give them 2 stars and not one, because at least they are trying. Next the foot bath, the water was cold at first and I didn't mind. Then the water turned scalding hot, I had to pull my feet out and ask another technician to turn it down. The pedicure itself was nothing above minimum and I was slightly annoyed by the lack of conversation, music, or TV. The person doing my nails tried to give me acrylic without asking and took a dremel to my natural nails twice. I asked for nail art of a rainbow and I agreed to pay the extra price but the technician refused to do it. What's up with that? I ended up with a French manicure that almost went down in the history books for worst French manicure ever (exposed nail line and just all round sloppy painting) that left my cuticles bleeding. read more

I really want to like this place because it is way much closer to home then where I usually go to get my nails done. I've had acrylics for a year now. Anyone who ever got acrylics knows that they last 2-3 weeks and then you need to get refills or a fix if you broke a nail. When I went into this salon I was greeted and got to be serviced almost immediately. I told the lady I needed her to fix one acrylic nail that fell off and get refills. She told me pick a color and have a seat. I got a light pink color (It was gel nail polish). The lady that was doing my nails (I didn't get her name) started to compare my nails length to try to get it even but she was a solid inch off. Soon after I noticed this another customer came in to remove her gel nail polish, she was also serviced immediately. The lady started to file my nails down and started putting on the acrylic powder, she layered it on very thin. I tried just ignore what was happening but then she said "Honey, Your nail is crooked" in which it was clearly not. She started to file even more which kind of irritated my real nail. She starts painting on the polish and I was so relieved this experience was almost over. The girl next to me who was getting her gel removed was there for about 30-40 minutes. That's absolutely insane to me for just getting gel removed. When she finished I went to the register to pay, It was a whopping 70 dollars! I normally would pay the same price for a whole set of acrylics but this was just a fix and a refill! A few hours later I took a shower and noticed the polish was already chipping off. The next day another nail fell off and at this point I just removed all the nails. My experience was horrible and so was the service. I'm not going here again. read more

I ask for Gel nail structure to be put on my natural nails first so that my nails stay extra hard and don't bend and there's no extra cost! Still only pay $35. My third time which was today I asked for dark blue and after her recommended to make it a matte finish because with his experience of this color matte looks great in it so I tried matte for my first time and OMG I love it! I have come here often and it's always great service and I really like my nails but this was such horrible service that I just had to say something. I never got her name but I came in on Wednesday the 17th around 4:30 and the lady was wearing purple. I got my toes and nails done with a pink color (lily garden I think it was called) at first she tried to up sell me which is fine I get it as I'm in the service industry but when I said no she was very rude and it felt like she was just trying to rush me out of her chair. They were not busy! I had picked a color before I told her I didn't want to do gel nails and she told me they didn't have that color in a basic nail polish but that was the color she used on my nails. So she lied to me or just didn't know they had it. Then she told me my nails wouldn't last more then three days but they didn't even last me to the parking lot! By day two three fingers were already chipped and I haven't done anything crazy, I also have been very careful with my nails since I just got them done. She put two bad coast of nail polish my my nails then didn't even wait for them to really dry and applied the clear coat on top. She didn't even clean my nails up there was nail polish all over my fingers. She had me pay before doing my fingers which is fine and I even tried to give her a good tip hoping that would help but it didn't. After she was done she told me to let them dry and then I didn't see her again. However I did see her on her phone in the corner, she never checked on me again.
