Full disclosure: this review is based on my food and drink experiences in the bar, because I haven't ever eaten in the restaurant itself. Okay, let's be real -- the bar at the Royal Panda is a dive bar. But don't let that keep you away. If you like that kind of place, it's a good place for drinking, with lottery and a pool table too. If I get something to eat, it is almost always the potstickers, which are handmade in house and are some of the best around -- seriously. Take this from someone who finishes a plate of potstickers and starts planning the next time he can order them. Their Chinese entrees are okay in my opinion, nothing to get excited about one way or the other. Except I am not a super fan of the way they do egg foo yung -- they are kind of dense, with to me an odd texture. Other items are fine. We ordered via a 3rd party delivery service. Having never ordered from Royal Panda before, we were impressed. Mongolian Beef was very flavorful but had way too many onions for our liking. Next time, we will ask for easy onions. Otherwise, caramelized and yummy. Cashew chicken (made as requested without vegetables) was really yummy. And the mushu pork was a nice combo of pork and veggies. I don't eat the pancakes, but they looked fine. White rice was fresh and good. Definitely will order again from them. read more

I really like this place. It's one of the few Chinese restaurants in the area that serves a delicious vegetarian egg foo young with lots of veggies. The ambiance is relaxing with pretty crystal chandeliers and pink linens on the tables. The honey walnut chicken or shrimp are also very delicious entrees. Portions are large, and you probably will have leftovers. Tea also is complimentary with the meal. A lot of good Chinese restaurants have disappeared in recent years, but this place still is solid. It's close to Bridgeport Village and is usually a lot less crowded vs. Bridgeport Village itself. My parents love this restaurant so much that they go here weekly. We just ate here on Christmas Eve too. Pro tip: If you come for weekday lunch- the soup (eggdrop or sweet and sour) comes with your meal too. read more

We were craving Chinese and our usual spot is closed on Mondays so we found this place open and decided to give it a try. The parking lot had a lot of cars but when we went inside, it seemed empty. We decided to order anyway. When you step in it feels like you are in the 1970's (in a good way). The menu has just the right amount of choices and the prices are reasonable. We ordered the Singapore Noodles and Salt and Pepper Shrimp. The dishes were delicious.!The noodles included pork, chicken and shrimp. The shrimp was not greasy and it was fresh. White rice and tea are included with the meal. Service was ok - we could have had more tea but she never checked. We also realized why the restaurant was empty the bar was full! We did not realize there was a bar- it's a bit hidden from the restaurant. This restaurant has been around for a while and is a regular spot for many. I would recommend it. read more

What a pretty & oh so calm restaurant. The paino music playing softly was a hit to my husband and I. Soup came in i ordered 1/2 hot & sour &/1/2 egg flower, and hubby ordered hot & sour. First time here and the last time I will ever go to any other Chinese restaurant. Words cannot describe the soft touch of the sweet and sour chicken touching my fried rice. Always helpful, weird but wonderful crew of people come here, same goes for the bartenders. They stop serving their full menu earlier then you would expect, I believe it's 10 on weekends and 9 on week days, but I think last call is 2 every day. Bar is a good layout; bar section as you enter, decent sized seating area to your left. And if you go straight it's video poker to your left are pool tables. I have been looking at the reviews of Royal Panda and I was a liitle shocked that there are a lot of bad reviews. I understand people have different views. We have been eating at Royal Panda for over 20 years. We know the owners and they have been friendly and gracious for all those years. I'm surprised I have never given a review about their food. We no longer live in the Portland area. We have not had any food from Panda since we left 6 years ago. I still have family in the area so we decided to take out. It's a little harder now with little grandkids to eat at their restaurant. I love the Chicken and Broccoli. Thinly sliced white meat chicken with of course Broccoli. The white sauce that it comes with is just fantastic. Make the dish so flavorful. The white sticky rice ties the whole dish together. My wife has Fried Bean Curd ( Tofu) with veggies. You can get it as spicy as you like. Another great dish even if it is vegetarian. We also had Chicken with String Beans. The String Beans were a little too salty. Hope to have more visits when we are back in town. read more

Found this place on a delivery app and was hungry for some Chinese. Very impressed though I only had soup and a couple appetizers it was enough to make me want to try more. Gotta day if the food here isn't homemade they got an amazing vendor Tonight's meal was Boiled dumplings in chili sauce(6pcs). I'm gonna go with wow. The spice / flavor of the sauce and the giant dumplings ...I couldn't get past 3 after sampling the other items lol. Crab puffs (6pcs) ...cooked perfectly and some of the best crab puffs I've had in awhile. Wor wonton soup.. ok so this didn't wow me, the flavor wasn't quite there in the broth, but it included a good variety of things worth picking out to eat. If you're looking for that old school family run Chinese food restaurant that's been around forever this is it... portions are large the quality is excellent!!! Not overly expensive is really nice for the amount of food. Had an order through Door Dash from the Bridgeport/Tualatin area location at 3:23 p.m. on a Monday (it was Veteran's Day). I ordered: shrimp egg foo young, egg rolls, General Tsao's chicken with fried rice on the side. The egg foo young was dense and hard and the fried rice was mushy with no taste (maybe a little soy sauce poured on top of white rice?) I tried but could not eat these so threw both out. The General Tsao's chicken had a really, really thick sauce coating the chicken. I had to scrape it off but tasted ok. The eggrolls were not good. So spent $38 and threw the egg foo young and fried rice away because the food was not good. Maybe it was just an off day for the cook. Somewhere I had never tried before, Honestly I'm so disappointed. This is supposed to be kung pao Chicken.... It's supposed to spicy. I've never had kung pao that didn't have veggies in it. I never thought really that highly of Royal Panda, but Chinese restaurant offerings in my area are very limited, so I did go there from time to time over the last 7 or 8 years. Sadly, my opinion of them has gone down and I no longer go there. I've had some bad and bizarre experiences there, including one time I phoned in an order, and when I went there, the place was open but there were no customers in the restaurant, and nobody manning the the place. There was literally nobody there! After waiting 15 or 20 min, and nobody showed up, all I could do was just leave, disappointed. Another time I did a take out, and when I got home I discovered that they messed up my order. I called them and they denied that they had made a mistake and were very mean and argumentative about it. Odd. Anyway, I don't go there anymore, and can't recommend them. read more
