Oh my God. The food is so good. Service is phenomenal. I need to give the chef compliments. Nope, compliments isnt ENOUGH. I need to give the chef HEAD.

food/service was great/quick, shakes were yummy too, big menu, [[HIGHLIGHT]]pulp fiction theme/decor (simple/a little plain)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], also no coke products, only pepsi, i got the salt/pepper fries, which were good too- crispy and not too thick

When I have to work in office, this is always an option for lunch!!!! If you don't try anything else, get the garlic parm fries....then thank me later. Today I got the Vincent Vega. After driving back to work, dealing with an immediate issues and finally eating an hour later MY FOOD WAS STILL DELICIOUS!! Chicken crunchy, fries still tasty and I was soooo happy. Ohhhh and they have Pepsi products

A darn good burger. That's it, that's the review. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's just something right about this place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]From the decor to the food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Shout out to the Beirut and the Cajun fries for making my day.

With a name like "Royale with Cheese" comes an expectation of 'Pulp Fiction' in the mix and Royale with Cheese does not disappoint. Counter service ordering but table side food delivery was very good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was very cool.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The menu and some art in the dining room absolutely represent 'Pulp Fiction' and I was expecting it and glad to see it![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] HAVANA BREAKFAST FEEL BURGER Beef Patty, Turkey Bacon, Fried Egg, Fries, Cheese Fondue, Chipotle Ketchup, Royale Sauce. I chose the Salt & Pepper fries and a fountain drink (lemonade), and a "Vincent approved" Vanilla Bean Shake to finish it all off right. Great job, Royale with Cheese staff!

We need a quick bite and Royale was close and to be cheesy, I like the theme. We walked in and the cook was at the door- he then held the door for us an hopped behind the counter. I was a little weirded out by this but honestly, the food totally made up for my reservations. I had a cheeseburger and garlic parm fries with a shake. The burger hit the table and looked like it was liquid cheese (like beer cheese) and it was DELICIOUS!!! The garlic parm fries were alright. Would have been a little better if the garlic parm sauce was more liquid and distributed evenly like on garlic parm wings. But I liked the wedges direction. The shake- went with cinammon toast crunch. it's my favorite cereal and have never had that as a shake flavor. It was good. My kids loved it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The murals on the walls as an ode to Pulp Fiction not the best executed but I like the vision and I love a theme.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Why not 5 stars? [[HIGHLIGHT]]Just need to class the place up a little like don't keep a mop bucket next to the entrance, the condiment station should be stocked and kept clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Small things that make patrons feel better about establishments.

Visited Royale with Cheese with my family for a late lunch. We ordered the Southwest Royale Wrap, Kruncher Burger, Vincent Vega (a classic fried chicken sandwich), and the Mushroom Onion Swiss Burger with Cajun fries. The halal meat was incredibly fresh and juicy, and the sauces, cheese, and fresh ingredients paired perfectly with it. The wrap featured crisp, fresh veggies and was probably the healthiest option of the bunch. The fries were made from real potatoes, crunchy, and lightly salted (the herb fries were especially delicious). [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant has a cozy diner vibe with plenty of tables, making it a great spot for families.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Can't wait to visit again soon!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Royale with cheese may just be Detroits hidden gem. Tucked in midtown is this restaurant! Super cool right from the bat because it's all brought to life from one of the most iconic movie quotes ever, in Pulp Fiction! So there's decor from the film everywhere and the menu items are slogans and quotes from the movie, pretty cool.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] That being said everything does have a super cool and BOLD twist to it! We tried a lot and absolutely everything was incredible. Mac & cheese bites are super flavorful and moist, not dry like most places. Grilled cheese & tomato soup is next level and the perfect flavor combo!! The ravioli is a MUST try!!! & don't skip on the KRUNCHER SPICY BURGER (not pictured) the best thing on the menu!! Also, dont leave without trying one of their milkshakes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Super clean place, amazing service, friendly & quick, and the food is out of this world.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Can't wait to go back for more!

Let me tell y'all something! This food is so good. The honey bunny or chicken Caesar chicken wrap, yes absolutely. Me and my boyfriend sat in the car and ate our food then literally reordered and ate again! lol that should tell you right there! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is pretty laid back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their menu situation pissed me off at first but the food and good service made up for it honestly. And then Cajun tots!!!! Chefs kiss!!!

Loved the porch area of this restaurant. So relaxing! We didn't actually get a burger. Instead - the special - cheesesteak. And tater tots. Both were very good. Great quick meal in Detroit.

Great spot for a burger and fries! I love the nacho cheese raviolis! All of their cheese/ sauces are so yummy and creative. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great atmosphere for a laid back atmosphere![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The soup with the grilled cheese is amazing as well.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Gotta give it up to this place the athmospher and the decorations and the whole place it selfs give u awesome vibes the trevolta and Jackson art is amazing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The burgers wer delicious and the fries wer perfect. I also had a shake and let me tell u It did not disappoint it was all that's. Service was great.

I came to visit Detroit with my friend last week and we stopped here for lunch. The staff was incredibly kind, welcoming and helpful the moment we walked through the door. The food was also amazing! I got the lunch special with the American cheese burger, garlic parmesan fries and a drink. Absolutely amazing - I cleared my plate, there were no survivors. Thank you so much! I'll be making a beeline back to here if I ever return to Detroit

Ask the Community - Royale with Cheese

    Is it halal?

    Yes, it's halal.

Wondering if they have a kids menu?

They do! They offer a burger, Mac and cheese, and chicken tenders. They all come with cute smiley fries too and a drink

    Typical burger price?

Typical and even slightly cheaper for "gourmet burger" range. Maybe $8-$10

    Yes very good place?

It was tasty, but I think they overcook their burgers a tad, in my opinion.

Which is okay if that's not what you want! I have no issue with the service and everybody was pretty cool. The waitress was super friendly, especially when I couldn't make up my mind because there are so many options lol. It's tree pockets so you have to park on Michigan Ave but there is plenty of it. Depending on what kind of day or night it is though. But just be aware you have to pay for parking. Seasoned fries - the fries come very seasoned and super crispy. You get a ton of them as well. You may not even need ketchup actually. French onion - this burger was good. Came with some onion rings kinda on the side. It was cooked medium and they got it pretty right with the temp. The cheese was melted well and it was seasoned pretty good also. Blt - this was a good BLT and it was very stacked. I'm not sure if you can make it out from the picture but it had plenty of everything on here. The bacon tasted great. Tots - they came out really hot and super crispy and actually gave you a heck of a lot of them too so that definitely helped but these are really good and you didn't even need ketchup.

It's obviously just like the Ann Arbor location but substantially less busy (thank goodness.) I walked in and it's a smaller version of what I'm used to. Menu is up on the wall and the two gentleman at the counter were friendly and helped me place my order. I went with a burger with muenster cheese with an egg on top along with their coleslaw instead of fries. The coleslaw was actually really good! (not all coleslaws created equal. Let me tell you about it!) My food did take a while to come out but it was quite delicious. I forgot they have water jugs at the table and I could've gone without the sprite, but it was a throwback bottle in the glass bottles and I couldn't resist. I know they have the benches to encourage community and getting to know other people outside of your party, but sitting there makes my butt and back sore after a while. Place is clean and well organized which I loved, and it's in the district so you're a stones throw from the ballpark. Overall a fabulous experience and worth stopping by on a very hot July afternoon.

Wow... what a BEAUTIFUL restaurant. At first glance, as I…read morearrived at valet, I was genuinely proud to see this Black-owned brick-and-mortar in person for the first time. Unfortunately, I did not anticipate that it would also be the last. The valet attendant was attentive and professional, and the host staff greeted me as I walked in. So far, so good! The bar wasn't busy, but I figured it was still kind of early and things could liven up. I was meeting friends for a birthday toast, and they were already seated at the bar. When I approached, we were very excited to see one another, so naturally, we took a moment to catch up. I noticed there was one bartender in the service well who was busy making drinks and therefore understandably unable to greet me. There was another bartender conversing with patrons standing next to my barstool and another bartender on the far end. Now, as someone with a background in food & beverage, I naturally exercise patience in casual dining atmospheres because service can be a little laxed--which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'm not expecting the bartender to teleport across the room because I walked in. However, in this case, after greeting my friends, we wanted to do a round of shots in honor of the birthday girl. After several minutes, we still had not been approached by a bartender. Not to mention, the bartender conversing just to my right was STILL carrying on with the same gentlemen patrons. After a continued wait, the birthday girl decided to flag down the bartender, who acknowledged us with eye contact... ...and then continued her conversation. Ma'am. That was very unprofessional, but we were in such great spirits that we decided to overlook it and try to get the attention of a different bartender. Now, hindsight being 20/20, we should've left right then. This same bartender, standing not even 3 feet away from us, eventually finished her conversation and walked away. She actually ended up standing at the service well in plain sight of us, where she then pulled out her cellphone to devote some obviously much-needed quality screen time. We were in utter shock. Within a few moments, the bartender originally on the far end of the bar had made her way to our side to take a new set of patrons' order who had just appeared to my right. Once again, the birthday girl calls out and asks if it would be possible for her to assist us when she was done. To our dismay, the lady looks at us with absolutely ZERO emotion and simply states, "Yea." Not exactly the response we expected, but hey... it's Detroit. We are natives, although I no longer live locally, so we know customer service isn't necessarily the city's strongest suit. ‍ After Ms. Dead Emotions prepared drinks for the new set of patrons, she followed suit with the previous bartender and walked over to the service well for some R&R with Screen Time Girl. And THAT was the moment we realized these bartenders did not come to work... They came to clock in. At this point, I decided to ask for a manager. The nice woman I approached asked me what it was regarding, and I explained what we had experienced and told her it was disappointing, to say the least. She seemed rational and understanding and offered to send a waitress to the bar to serve us. I thanked her and went back to my seat. It was obvious that the bartenders had been made aware of my grievances because their demeanors and facial expressions suddenly had a LOT to say. At that point, we realized training, support, and customer service may be an unrecognized area of opportunity by upper management. The server was busy with tables but eventually made her way over. She seemed very nice. However, by that point, we had decided we would leave. As we sat there conversing about this unbelievable experience and discussing other bars we could go to instead, a few patrons walked up to our side of the bar to introduce themselves and ask about our plans and whether we would stick around to have a drink with them. When we informed them we were leaving, they asked why. We gave them the short version as we prepared to leave. Sadly, they weren't surprised--but they offered AGAIN to make it right. Imagine customers offering to make it right. ‍ Just before leaving, one of our group stepped away to the restroom. At that point, Screen Time finally walked up and, exasperatedly, asked if we wanted anything. IKYFL. The birthday girl, who is sweet-natured, was understandably disappointed, so I decided, you know what? We'll take a shot for the road. A simple Don Julio Repo shot took longer than it should have... ...but the bill came IMMEDIATELY. And, of course, an automatic 20% gratuity was the cherry on top. At this point, all I could do was laugh. Beautiful restaurant. Great first impression. Unfortunately, the actual experience was a completely different story. WE WILL NOT BE BACK.
