Well, I've had layovers in Japan's Narita and Haneda airports but never outside the airports. My contact with ROYCE' Chocolates, Japanese food, and culture has been in these airports. Yeah, I'm a chocoholic, so my discovery of luxurious ROYCE' Nama chocolate started here. Over the years, friends and relatives who visited Japan have brought back ultra-luxurious chocolates from Tokyo's Chef Antonio Koji Tsuchiya's Theobroma Cacao store or Chef Shunsuke Saegusa's Palet d'Or for me to savor and entice me to travel to Japan. Tsk, because the darned pandemic started and the Tokyo Olympics was rescheduled, we had to postpone our foreign travels in 2020 and 2021. Thanks to Vancouver, WA's Yelp Elite, Michael S, for reviewing this ROYCE' Chocolate Store; I put them on my bookmark list. My first attempt to locate this store in late July was thwarted by misinformation. Still, when I returned home to Honolulu, I called the phone number listed on Yelp, where I could confirm their business hours and location. I made a note and told my husband that I "needed" to go to The Venetian Resort's Grand Canal Shoppes to get my ROYCE' chocolates. Haha. He knows better than not getting in my way when it comes to feeding my chocolate addiction. Walking into the shop, two workers immediately greeted us and asked if we were looking for anything in particular or unique. I wanted to buy as many Japanese chocolates as possible but had to temper my buying to the room in my carry-on bag and purse. The employees were charming and knowledgeable about their inventory. But then again, you don't have to twist my arm very much when I'm in a high-quality chocolate store. Fortunately, during our recent visit, the outdoor temperature didn't exceed 82 degrees F. I made sure to make my purchases before walking quickly back to our hotel on our second day in Las Vegas. I brought an insulated bag along with me to protect the chocolates from melting in Las Vegas' and Honolulu's heat, too. I bought a box of Nama Chocolate "Ghana Bitter," which I broke into immediately upon returning to our hotel room because I knew that I wouldn't be able to keep it stored at 50-degrees while flying home. Haha, that's my excuse for eating them FIRST! The chocolate ganache was delicate, creamy, and melted in my mouth with its subtle dark cacao bitterness. Hm, I stuffed myself with a few pieces before going out to dinner then returned to for more. By the end of our stay, I ate all 20 pieces by myself even though I did offer some chocolate to my husband, who claimed that I ate them all before giving him a chance to open the box. In addition to the Nama chocolates (which didn't make it home), I purchased several chocolate bars, two gift sets (Chocolat No Shiki Hokkaido), and ROYCE' Pure Chocolate (Venezuelan Bitter & Ghana Sweet) and ROYCE' Origin Chocolates for gifts to our relatives and friends. Oh my gosh!!! These chocolates are delicious!! This place is located upstairs in a corner at the Venetian (next to Shoe Palace). The employees here are friendly and helpful. We got two matcha items. It was $35 total for both boxes.. One reminds me of a thin Ghirardelli square (but matcha chocolate) with matcha filling. The other is crunchy with potato chip, cornflake, and cookie covered in matcha. The square has more matcha flavor but the other is extremely addicting with its crunch. I already want more!!! Really appreciate having this chocolate here in our town. They have wonderful cookies and chocolates. A must try.

The ladies here were so nice. I was lured in by the chocolate truffle samples out front. I took a little paper cup and walked away. The sample was so delicious, smooth, and not overly sweet like a lot of truffles out there. I had to turn around. The truffles are great for people, who have a fear of overly sweet desserts. At first we were like, "Let's get one box." Then employees kept tempting us with samples of other flavors of truffles since no one else was in the store. All the varieties were great. I'm usually a fan of dark chocolate, but even their milk chocolate truffle was great. We realized these would make great gifts, so we started creating a pile of different truffles to get. They had cute little "Las Vegas" paper sleeves that went on the outside of their boxes so it made it more of a nice souvenir gift for our families. These ladies also provided us with some small ice packs (that I still use to this day) so that the chocolate wouldn't melt because we had a long trek back to our hotel on a very hot day. On my recent visit I shopped for some Mother's Day items and had my eye on a favorite, Chocolate Baton Cookies! By accident I purchased Fromage Baton Cookies. These white chocolate, parmesan master pieces are the best mistake of my life, next to the birth of my daughter. They are salty, sweet, delicate, crispy, but not crunchy! The parm gives them a great texture that differs from the chocolate batons. We also purchased the Sakuraberry Chocolate Bar that is FULL of dried cherrys and almonds, again blew my mind! The flavor of cherry and almond compliments each other perfectly like a symphony in my mouth. I've been of Royce' for the past 10 years when I first had a taste while traveling in Asia. Before this store opened, the closest place that has them was at Mitsuwa in Torrance. You just have to bite the huge price mark-up. It's triple the original price! I love the nama chocolates that come in flat boxes: champagne, milk chocolate, hazelnut and matcha. They put it in and insulated bag with dry ice to keep it from melting when you take it home. Each box comes with a small plastic knife so you can slice a piece of rich thick chocolate goodness that melts in your mouth and coats your tongue. Mmmmm... I buy the dark chocolate bars too. But my other favorite is the chocolate potato chips. Savory and sweet in one chip. The potato chip stays crunchy. It now comes in white chocolate too if that's your jam. read more

Best chocolate I've ever had! So glad I found this place. The lady working there was so nice and offered us lots of samples. When we found out the one we wanted had to be refrigerated and we couldn't take it with us, she helped us find a location to buy close to home. The chocolate is super smooth and yummy. Decided to take a walk around the Venetian after a big brunch at Bouchon and happily discovered a ROYCE' chocolate shop! I was introduced to their chocolates a few years ago by my best friend who brought them over from her trips to Japan and Korea. Their nama chocolate is rich, smooth,& just oh so lovely. You can really taste the quality in every bite and there's a handful of different flavors that you can choose from. I was surprised to see that this shop actually had a pretty large selection of different types of chocolates! I was only familiar with the nama chocolate and was excited to see wafers, chocolate bars, chocolate covered potato chips, & so much more. I wish I had more time to thoroughly browse all the flavors, but I quickly picked out a limited edition strawberry nama chocolate and 2 chocolate bars and went on my way. I haven't dug into the nama chocolate yet, but the chocolate bars were good! Just like any other good quality chocolate. The nama chocolate is really where it's at for me and I'm so happy to know they have a storefront here. 4 stars though 'cause while there were 2 or 3 girls working, they were busy chatting away and I had to get their attention to ask for a sample of a few flavors I couldn't decide between. I don't think I was ever greeted either. I usually don't care or notice for the most part, but for some reason that just stood out the most to me in my short time there. One of my best friends introduced Royce' to me. So me and the lover decided to come and pick up a few boxes. We were met by the lovely Kate. What a doll this Kate is. I luv when sales people aren't pushy and know their products. Kate was very patient and explained the differences and the wide variety they had. There are some with and without alcohol and also some seasonal flavors. I tried a lot and this type of chocolate is high end. It's so posh that they package it in a cool pack to maintain its firmness. There's a clear difference with Royce' chocolate and regular shelf candy. The waxy element is gone. What you get is pure elegant chocolate that is rich smooth and silky. You don't need a lot to get a full chocolate blast. The packaging is your typical Japanese attention to every detail type of box with a special Vegas packaging too. I like the packaging coz it resembles mini cigar boxes to me that you may find in Europe. One box of Nama style is about $18. ROYCE chocolate is the world famous in the world. I found in web in Las Vegas, in Venetian hotel. Venetian is huge, I kept walking around searching this location over 2 hours, using google map. I called Royce, I told him where I was, but all he said was, " it's in ......" I am so sorry I don't even know what he was saying !!! He kept telling me " Royce located in ......." So tagged along the night they went get some before flew back home. It definitely lived up to the hype! No doubt it pricey chocolate. In this case you truly are paying for quality not quantity. The box is small but really classy or say looks like high end chocolate. The squares for each piece are small and in one box think nine pieces in all?? $18 box make sure appreciate each bite. lol. I ended up trying the matcha and one champagne infused. Both were amazing. Especially the Matcha. I am forever green tea matcha fan of everything and anything. The flavor was on point! The chocolate was smooth, creamy, and addicting. Forget the best part about Royce is you can literally try anything you want even if it just tiny tiny bite. These chocolates were my favorite in Las Vegas. I didn't appreciate the lady there joking around with her coworkers at a very immature level. They let me try a free sample of every item and I tried quite a few. Was blown away by the maccha green tea white chocolates and the milk chocolate mana and the dark chocolate mana. They are so smooth and creamy. These have to be refrigerated so it was convenient that they offer and sealed insulated container with dry ice to keep them cool on the plane. Sean, the manager, was extremely helpful. my friends and I were able to sample almost every product that the store carried. At the end, my friends and I bought a good amount of chocolates from the store. A couple of my favorite ones include the Nama Chocolate (Champagne Pierre Mignon) and the Nama Chocolate (Bitter) - has the aroma of Hennessy VSOP. Since we were heading back, they offered to wrap our chocolates in an aluminum packaging with ice pack inside them! I really appreciate the great customer service and friendliness that they provided. I've heard so many great review about these chocolates and wasn't able to get my hands on them until today! The staff was amazing. You can sample any of the chocolate they carry. I ended up buying the matcha nama chocolate and the limited edition Sakura nama chocolate and also 2 chocolate bars( creamy milk chocolate and black chocolate). Although these chocolate are great, the price is also pretty expensive for chocolate lol. ( this is the first time I've ever spent a lot on chocolate). A box of Nama chocolate was $18ea and the bar was $8ea. Since I spent over $40, they also gave us a free goody bag filled with other type of chocolates and flavors! I am so so so in love with Royce chocolate like seriously, I swear when my sister texted me saying that they opened one here in Las Vegas, I could not contain myself!!! I picked up my keys and drove straight to the Grand Canals! Now that I'm reading the reviews from other Yelpers, I wish I freaking knew they have free samples of whatever you wanted to try. The guy at the front of the store did give me a sample of the NAMA dark chocolate, but I wish someone would've told me I could sample anything. I'll definitely have to try some other stuff when I go there again. I knew about Royce originally when I saw pictures of the matcha NAMA. I luckily got some as a souvenir gift and oh my gosh, it was love at first bite! My top two absolute favorite picks are the fruit bars and the Matcha NAMA! They're so freaking delicious! Definitely try them out if you happen to go to this store. The matcha NAMA from this store is unfortunately not as good as the one in Japan. I bought the strawberry NAMA also and you can see that the chocolate is still nicely coated with a good amount of cocoa powder, but as for the matcha one, it definitely lacked the fine matcha powder that I loved so much from the ones I got from Japan, but it's still very good just not as awesome. This is Cocoa heaven! They sell chocolates from all over the world here. Lots of 70%, but they also have 85%. That one is too pure for me though...lol. I purchased the multi pack including 5 individual packets of chocolate from 4 different countries: Ecuador, Vietnam, Venezuela, and Madagascar. And all have a slightly different taste to them too. The Ecuadorian chocolate is a bit more bitter than the Madagascar chocolate, which is the sweetest of all of them. I'm also so happy to find out that there are locations of Royce' really close to where I live! Both in Costa Mesa & Irvine. They have a refrigerated section for their fresh chocolates that are made with fresh milk. They only last for about a month in the fridge because of how fresh they are. I love the matcha flavor but they have many options. There is a Hennessy dark chocolate that is phenomenal as well. They also have unrefrigerated chocolates including chocolate dipped potato chips. I prefer this one compared to the one in fashion show for multiple reasons. 1. Staff are more friendly and seem to be more knowledgeable regarding the chocolate. 2. You can sample anything pretty much. 3. More spacious and never rushed to buy a box. Boxes run about 18$ and it's duty free so no tax by the way. They have seasonal stuff which one can also sample if you just ask. Make sure to check expiration dates because the box chocolate usually expire within a month. The other stuff like chips and wafer it can expire up to three months so just check the box. I have to say that I'm so glad that we have one of these stores. It has sort of become a rarity and if you're a chocolate lover like me definitely worth trying. The chocolate is sort of like a ganache where it is soft and then coated in powder to keep it from being sticky (my thoughts on why). There are usually many different flavors including: darjeeling, dark, white, champagne, and milk. When traveling I've been able to find banana and strawberry or matcha green tea as well probably depending on the season and availability. There are other treats here like tiramisu wafer cookies and chocolate covered potato chips. The potato chips are worth trying but I prefer the tiramisu wafers. They are really flavorful. There are some really nice attention to details including the beautiful pink Royce gift bags (fabric bags with ribbon). If you're looking for a unique gift for someone who has a sweet tooth, I would recommend Royce. read more

I was going to try a different chocolate shop in The Venetian, but then I thought when am I going to be able to try Japanese chocolate again, so I set out to find Royce in the massive hotel's shops. This was on the last night of our trip and we were leaving for the airport before the store opened at 10 A.M. Thank goodness I waited until the last minute because I would have bought so much more chocolate after tasting it. Omg, I can't describe how delicious this chocolate is. For $61.00, I bought the champagne Nama chocolates, the Matcha Nama chocolates, and a variety box. I didn't care for all the chocolates in the variety box (probably because I don't like dark chocolate), but I loved the matcha bar, the hazel cream and the matcha chocolate wafers, and prafeuille chocolate matcha. The Nama chocolates melt in your mouth--it's the smoothest chocolate I've ever had. At first, I thought it couldn't get any better than the Champagne Nama chocolates, but then I tried the Matcha Nama chocolates and I thought "wow, this is the best thing I've ever had in my mouth. I gave my boyfriend a piece to try and he just gave me a hug and said "that's how I feel about that chocolate". The Nama chocolates had to be kept cold, so they gave me a small foldable insulation pack with a little ice pack that could be re-frozen and lasts up to 8 hrs. Our hotel suite at the Venetian came with an empty refrigerator to store items, but we weren't sure if it had a freezer to keep the ice pack frozen. The store clerk said to come back in the morning before we leave and he could give us another ice pack to keep our chocolates intact--very helpful staff. You have to give Royce chocolates a try. I've already looked online to see if I could order more, but some of the chocolates are only available in their boutiques and the shipping is pretty expensive, so if you live near a Royce go to a boutique. Employees at this location are more focusing of policing mask than selling chocolate. Their little chocolate section is in an open area INSIDE Venetian hotel, I'm pretty sure they've seen hundreds of ppl walking around Venetian without mask daily. FYI, I wore a mask in this store, unfortunately I witnessed an employee with long curly hair & bangs treated a customer w/o a mask next to me very poorly. I have been enjoying these chocolates for 20 plus years and now I can get their beautiful confectionaries in Vegas! Their champagne and au lait oh and the petite truffe are my favorites oh and don't forget the maccha almond chocolate. The maccha item I could only get in Japan but now....no more! They are in Vegas baby!!! So go. They will sample if you need to understand the delicate umptious flavors but do bring your wallet. They ain't free. Haha but well worth every penny you spend! Love to come here because they are serious about their chocolate, this is considering both the price and the flavor. They will really let you try just about everything in the store. I would advise that you bring some water or something to clear your taste buds. Yes, it's pricey, where a typical box will cost you over $20 but this is no ordinary chocolate. It's a hard to find in the Venetian Grand Canal shops and it's worth it. No risk (we are talking Vegas) in coming here and trying to find new favorites. Definitely worth the visit. read more
