I usually do my smog check at this place. David the manager has always been very helpful and kind. I needed a quick overall check on my car as I'm leaving on a long drive in a couple of weeks. My usual mechanic was very busy so I thought of David. I left the car with him and he told me that it would take about 1 1/2 hours. After an hour he called me and said that everything on the car was fine and that whatever my mechanic is doing, he's doing right. One of his mechanic's Chris who was also very nice, told me that the car is in great shape. I asked David how much the check-up on he car was and he said not to worry about it, "No charge!" I couldn't believe it! In this day and age you just don't encounter this kind of thing often. One thing I know for sure, from now on David and his crew will be getting more of my business! Not the service center in particular but the Gas Station itself. I was hoping to get some snacks for the road (mind you it is only 9pm) and I was greeted with a locked door so I proceeded to the help window. A very rude worker named Sasha greeted me with attitude and rudeness. When I asked her if she had a certain thing she rolled her eyes and said "no we don't" and ignored me. So I asked for a gatorade and she stopped counting money, threw it on the counter and got my drink. She then tells me the total so I proceed to tell her card and she rolls her eyes again slamming the push tray towards me to get my card. Very rude lady !! I was in the Arcadia area and needed to fill my tank. After a quick search on yelp (Thanks guys), i found this place. It's located on the Southwest corner of Foothill and Santa Anita. I went around 5:30 in the evening and the place is well lit and new machines. Best part, it's the same price whether you pay with cash or credit!! That is by far the best deal, cause other gas stations charge about 10 cents more for using a credit card. Plus, these prices are reasonable for this particular moment in time. I may have to come back and use their service station just to support local businesses. read more

I'm leaving this review for David. I was on a relatively long drive home and my 3 month old was really struggling on such a long drive that I decided to pull into this gas station, take her out of her seat, and hold her for a few mins to help her little self calm down. David comes out to greet us and he is touched by the sight of me holding my little baby. This man genuinely cared about us and what we were going through. We proceeded to talk about family and he mentioned his 3 children and how he missed the age that my daughter was currently at. The tender nature that David exuded was undeniable. He even offered to get us some water if we needed it. That kind of kindness is something missing nowadays. I had half expected him to tell us that if we were not customers we needed to leave and I have grown accustomed to that type of treatment. Nothing could have been further from the truth. I may have not been a customer that day, but I will tell every single person I know about the kindness of David and this gas station's welcoming attitude and how they care about people on a human level and not just on a customer/profit level. I will never forget David's kindness toward my little girl and I, please keep it up! I will be back someday and hopefully many of my friends will too! read more

The one thing you will learn about life after going to Roy's is that there is always someone who can do it better, and in this case, its this establishment. Ran over a nail with my Model X, took it into the shop at 9:05, found out I need to replace the whole tire, called other shops, only to be notified that the exact spec of tire cant be delivered till Thursday the earliest (two days later), but the staff here at Roy's was able to get the tire within an hour and installed onto my car. THAT is called exemplary service and shows the value of getting things done fast and the right way. Highly recommend this place if you ever feel the need to get things done. They could have told me the same turn around time just as any other shop, but instead, got what I needed done and completed in time for me to continue on my day, no hassle. 10/10 read more

This has been my only gas station for over 45 years as I prefer full service and now that I am older it is more difficult to take care of my car. Over the many years I have trusted the employees with filling my gas tank, checking under the hood, putting air in my tires and washing windows. As a small senior with handicapped placard, I felt that my vehicle was in the best care it could get. Upon visiting Roy's this last time none of these services were available. The gentleman attending was so sorry and he had been helping care for my vehicle for years. Now I can't find a place that can help. Googling and looking for a station list stations but they only will help if there is more than one attendant. I spent over an hour visiting station after station in my area and I still have no gas. Wish Roy's and their kind and needed service still existed. I don't know how the very handicapped drivers are able to get help. Wish me well with my find ing a station that truly helps. So today Roy's gets one star where in the past it would have been 5stars. read more

I always come here, they accept cash 24 hours/day, and is well-lit clean and safe. I go out of my way to fill-up here. They have a quarter operated air/water and also a service station by day. David was very nice and explained everything perfectly (provided his name, contact information, overview of service, pricing, estimated time, etc). Came into the station yesterday, to inflate tires after noticing a "low tire pressure" warning light. Air machine wasn't working great, so the service center staff said "come around back and we'll top you off in the garage". Mechanic found 3 tires were at full pressure, but 1 tire was down 6 PSI. He inflated it back up, then asked me to roll car back slowly while he inspected the tire tread. And there it was - a nail lodged in the tire. He patched the tire. $25. I wanted to add $10 to the tab, but the service center mgr refused. Best part - my 2 young kids learned how a car tire gets fixed, saw a responsible mechanic in action, and we were delayed just 30 minutes to meet up with the grandparents at the California Science Center that afternoon. I got so tired of being ripped off for auto service at the dealership I used to take my Toyota to, so I decided to try out this place since it was near where I lived (or where I used to live). Robert was so nice and friendly and really seems like an honest man. I mainly go here because for whatever reason the gas from here burns and goes down so slowly, it just feels nice not having to go in and stop for gas so frequently. Maybe it's a bit more but it's definitely worth it compared to whatever other stations are pumping for me that just seem to run out so quickly...plus they don't charge for using debit. So it kind of evens out and ultimately I consider their quality gas a better value in the long run than cheap gas which gives you an illusory satisfaction of filling up your tank to the brim for less but then it suspiciously burns quickly. I also loathe having to stop and pump gas so doing it less frequently is also part of the value. Dale was great when I accidentally pulled into full service stations the first time but I was on empty and in a rush and he kindly let me know I'd get a better deal on gas if I didn't intend on full service. I was in a rush and moving my car would have taken time (money) so I didn't mind. And he was nice about it. I really like that they offer that option though since it's so old fashioned and rare. Service at night is polite but weird - the cashier asked for my ID for a debit card. I do appreciate the extra caution with identity and most excellent places behave in this secure manner but....it was a debit card. If he wasn't sure, ask "will you be paying with debit or credit" first as it affects which window you will be processing your payment through at night. (There's another window to enter your pin if it's debit.) read more

On my 2010 Highlander, which has 88,000 miles I had a large a loud noise coming from the front of the car. I didn't realize that it was a bearing and when I took it to David at the union 76 station he checked it right away and found out the problem so they changed it bearing and hub on front end of my Highlander 2010 Highlander, and I'm satisfied with their work . I will continue to go to Union 76 station for future care. read more

They no longer have a full service island. I've come here for years for service kn our cars and for gas as they provided full service at the pump. The biz was recently sold and I was told they will pump gas but that's it. No tire pressure readings or putting in washer fluid, or other services. For gas, I'll go across the street to Arco and save bunch of money. We miss you, Roy! read more

I had realized that my tags were due in two days and I completely forgot that I needed a smog check :( I had called several places and no one could squeeze me in today. I called and was connected to the service department and explained my situation. Once I explained the situation Robert let me know not to worry and said just bring it in and we will take care of you. Laughed when I asked if they were no longer doing full service such as oil and fluids. Hours have changed to be much more limited. Broken down across the street from this FULL SERVICE gas station/garage, i went in and asked if i could buy a gas can. The cashier said they didn't have any for sale. So I turned and saw the garage, which was open, and I noted, "Well, I see you have a garage. Can I borrow a can..... and I will purchase some gas." He told me they had no gas cans. I looked at him, and then I pointed out my car which was, literally, across Santa Anita about 75 yards away. "I will bring it right back," I said. It was in direct view, and I had my wife and three kids with me. "We don't have any gas cans." I looked at him for a a few seconds and I said, "Look. This is a full service garage. Are you telling me you really don't have any gas cans? I don't believe you. I am clearly in a jam, and you won't help. I can bet that I will need a tow, and this station won't be getting the job, not that you are concerned." True to my word, I went to the Arco Station across the street, bought a can, a gallon of gas, and 5 quarts of oil. When Triple A suggested towing to Roy's Colonic Unaboil, I said, "No thanks" and had it towed to another station. There's your heads up. They'll take your money if you need gas, but they won't lift their leg to pee on you if you are on fire. Good luck. read more

Excellent service. We were able to get a repair done on Saturday and picked up the car on Sunday. Apparently the cashier is always open so you can pick up the car anytime. Also this business is Aaa approved so you can get a discount if you have Aaa. Will definitely use this service again if we have any repairs. Hopefully not for a while though. Thank you. read more

It's almost hard to believe that still HONEST MECANICS arround anywhere but my own experience at this 76 location has blown my mind away when Brian told me that my brakes still in excellent condition, I took my car to toyota of pasadena 10 months ago and they suggested I replace the brakes to my Sequoia, at the time I didnt have time to do so and 3 month later took the car again and for oil service and a check up, When I went to pick up my car no mention about the brakes a total inspection was done to my car but no brakes needed this time .(I hadn't change them) Well I took my car to this 76 gas station and Brian just told me that my brakes still in perfect condition not to worry about them for at least 10, 000 miles WHAT A GREAT MEN, HE IS A VERY HONEST PERSON. The worst experience at a gas station. I go to put gas in my friend's car and my card is not reading. I see the attendent( a real rude and snotty woman) and she just tells me it must be my card. I ask her to manually put in the number and she has a heart attack like a I asked her to part the seven seas for me. So I go accross the street and my card works fine. I will never go here again and I will tell EVERYONE I know not to go there, and that's alot of people in that area. read more

I've had a lot of car trouble over the past year or so, and the mechanic is always very upfront with me and I never feel like he's trying to shove different things down my throat to get more money. Also known as Roy's 76 Car Care Center this place is the best. Always busy but they have the time to stay in contact with you and keep you up to date with whatever the issue or concern may be. These guys are pros at getting your car smogged. With the exception of one car I have never failed to get my car smogged in under half an hour. The exception was through no fault of their, rather an odd mechanical piece failed on a used car that I had purchased with a lot of miles on the clock. Roy's is very good about coming in at estimated price. When writing the estimate they let you know of potential problems that may interfere with meeting the estimated time and price. I have never had them go over estimate. Added bonus is that you can use your 76 gas card to pay for service there. Do make an appointment even when you are just getting your car smogged as they are that busy. read more

Had some engine work done by this shop, then developed problems shortly thereafter. When I brought the car back they said they couldn't find a problem, so I took my car to another shop for help - they found a plastic part in the engine Roy's has dropped in the engine. You could clearly see where the valve had smashed the plastic part. When I brought this part back to Roy's and showed the manager, he totally denied it and refused to assist in any way. I admit there was a delay in me returning to Roy's, and explained to the manager it was because my Dad had not been doing well and ended up dying. While he was somewhat empathetic, he refused to change his position, offered zero compensation, which caused me significant additional expense. No thank you !!! read more

Its been years since I needed a smog and lost all the shops I really trusted... so I turn to yelp. Brought my car in here and *poof* it failed w a check engine light that mysteriously came on. I was pissed! I thought they had done something. I went home and being an ex mechanic turned mercenary/soldier of fortune/computer engineer, I dug in with my tools. Sure as hell the car was guilty and the shop was innocent. I fixed my broken part and took it back a few days later. $10 later and after a retest they gave me my certificate! So I needed a smog but I had a check engine light on. A friend recommended Roys 76 to me and I am super thankful for that! The manager was very nice and knowledgeable. He offered me a ride home while they worked on my car. The car was fixed the same day at a reasonable price and I came back a week later for the smog. My car passed with no issues at all.
