When I was driving through NJ on my way home to RI, my 17-year old Ram 1500 overheated on I-287. It was a Sunday morning, so I knew I was stuck. I googled close-by auto repair shops and RSW came up 5 miles away. Their site said they fix everything, so I got my truck over there, dropped the keys in the overnight box and uber-ed to get a rental car back to RI. Monday morning by 9:00am, Jake called me to make contact and get the full story. Later that day, he called with results of the diagnostic and quoted me a very reasonable price to replace the radiator. He also found a few other unrelated issues that should be attended to given the truck's age, and again quoted a very reasonable price. Since I wasn't planning to return to NJ until Wednesday, I had him do all the work. Jake kept in constant contact with updates and RSW's all online system was awesome (they even sent photos and videos of the issues). When I went back to NJ to pick up my truck, Noah was there and very helpful with explaining the work done and just overall great customer service. If any of my vehicles ever breakdown in that area of NJ again, I will definitely bring it to RSW!! Beware, parts changers not mechanics. I brought my car in because it had a loud clunking noise that was heavy enough to feel through the floor. I didn't have time to deal with it so I took it in. They said I needed struts (which I agree were bad) and a CV axle, which took a week and cost me almost $2,000. They called me to say it was done and was all good except for a small squeak in the brakes. I picked it up after hours and wasn't even out of the parking lot and the clunking was still there over every tiny bump in the parking lot, there was no improvement whatsoever. And the mileage was the same as when I dropped it off, so they never even drove the car. I took it home and got under it the next day and found the problem in under 5 minutes and I'm not even a mechanic. The entire subframe was loose and clunking up and down when I pushed with my hand. A quick search on Google and I learned the bushings were broken. I replaced the bushings and now the car is like new again. I can't see how they could have tried very hard if at all to troubleshoot my problem. They just saw some worn parts and decided to charge me to replace them. And they were working all around that loose subframe the whole time and never once noticed it was loose. And they never drove the car to check if the problem was solved. This is complete incompetence. When I called the next morning they acted surprised and said I could bring the car back. I would never bring a car back to them. UPDATE - I am moving my review up to 3 stars for now. The General Manager did reach out to me for a full, open and honest conversation. He understands why I have the opinion I have and I understand why RSW feels as they do. We have agreed to have an independent shop evaluate the external damage and will continue the discussion thereafter. Also, they have agreed to address any interior damage. Was having a parasitic drain on the battery. Ended upo having to haver the aftermarket remote starter removed and a new dash wiring harness. Car was in shop for almost 3 weeks. Came out and hopefully the electrical is fixed (need to let car sit for a while to know). Bad news is there is considerable damage to the car. There is a large dent in the rear driver's door plus scratches on the inside driver door jam, shift knob, emergency brake lever & glove box. The car did not go in damaged as they suggest. Was waiting for them to do the right thing before posting but as expected they denied everything. They said they would look at the interior damage and address it as a courtesy. When asked to check their cameras they said their cameras only go back 2 weeks. Interesting that they kept the car for just over that??? read more

These guys are awesome and have earned my trust. They have a ton of great reviews on Google for a reason. My VW was having issues with the heater in the middle of the winter after just moving across the country. They didn't charge me a fee for inspecting it which was really nice. They said they would only charge a fee for diagnosing the problem if it required a lot of labor like pulling the dash out which was totally fair. They gave me a lot of information that really helped me weigh out my options. They told me I still had full coolant levels so the first thing they would do to try to fix the heat in my car is to flush the coolant, flush the heater core. They quoted me $630 total for the job which I thought was fair. He warned me that may or may not fix the problem and if it doesn't then it's very likely I will need a new heater core. The tech emphasized I should really consider if I want to start dumping money into my car as there are other issues that are costly and it may make more sense to eventually just get a new car rather than pouring money into trying to get all these issues fixed. The other issues I had included an intermittent flashing power steering light which the tech told me is an indication my electric power steering rack is going bad and may need to be totally replaced which would cost more than my car is worth. It would not make financial sense to replace it. Additionally, I have a check engine light on (emission related) and would not be able to register my car. These guys have been really been transparent with me and didnt try to take advantage. They provided me with a lot of information and advice to help me make informed decisions. Ultimately I took the techs advice and chose not to invest in repairs and have decided to eventually replace my car. When the time comes of needing a service or any kind of repairs - this is the only shop I will be bringing my car to. They've earned our trust and business! Also I don't know if they had anything to do with this or not, but I swear since leaving their shop my heat has actually been working better!! Took a BMW 5 series vehicle for transmission check. Gears were slipping. They took $180 for diagnosis for an hour. I paid them because I am not a mechanic and did not have time to go schedule service with a dealer. That money is not well spent from customer point of view. When transmission slips, long term remedy is to change the transmission and short term is to change the valve gasket in mechatronic. The shop could give this information without an expensive diagnosis. read more

My Jeep had a head light out. RSW gave me a quote of $359.00 to replace the headlight. Took it elsewhere and paid $72.00. Outrageous to charge $359 for a headlight. read more

My first visit to RSW and it was really great! They were able to give me an appointment for the same day. The diagnosis was very quick and effective. They explained the issue to me very clearly. The office area is organized and very clean, same with the customer waiting area. Highly recommend RSW and will be back for future service or maintenance issues. read more
