If anyone is ever in need of a good plumbing service, I highly recommend Ruben's Plumbing service! After 22 years of constant drain problems and alot of money spent on plumbing services to resolve it... Ruben is the only person that took the time to walk through the problem, scope the drains as well as snaked out to clean the drains... verses just doing minimal needed to get water flowing again and charge $300. He found the culprit (short story - it was a 22 year old sponge) and managed to knock it lose pushing it out to the city drain. I am so grateful to have this issue resolved. oh - and in the process we discovered the last plumber working on my drain glued the cleanout lid shut. He had to travel to the hardware store to get the adapters he needed. Even with the extra time for travel the job was completed in just at two hours. I cannot recommend a more outstanding guy. My girlfriend decided to pour about 20oz of solid bacon fat down my garbage disposal and it didn't work out very well. After a long heartfelt talk about why we shouldn't do that, I tried to fix it myself. We tried baking soda and vinegar, Drano, using an auger. Nothing worked. Ruben responded at the last second. Ruben was employed to correct the installation of a new filler valve which I had attempted myself in an effort to save money. It took him an hour and he charged $162.50, no new parts were required. He gave me a 90 day warranty. Before he left I noticed there was leaking from the tank and he told me I needed a new flapper. He said he could get one but there would be an additinal charge for his time so recommended I get one from Home Depot and install it myself which with some difficulty I did. Later that evening the toilet was running constantly. I called the following morning and he returned to adjust the filler valve. Two weeks later the toilet was difficult to flush and eventually could not be flushed at all. The toilet was intermittently running. He sent his young apprentice whose fix lasted 24 hours. I called again and was told the toilet needed to be rebuilt which would involve further expense. When I asked about the 90 day warranty he belligerently told me that he couldn't keep making warranty calls and suggested I find another plumber if that solution was unacceptable. He seemed irritated by my calls and it obviously never occurred to him that I wouldn't need to keep calling if the toilet had been fixed properly in the first place. I employed and paid this man in good faith and expect him to honor the warranty he issued. His warranty is obviously not worth the paper on which it is written and he's unwilling to honor it since warranty calls do not generate further remuneration. Buyer Beware! read more
