    Rubino's Special

Delicious, delicious, delicious! I recommend the Rubino's special but all of their pizza is delicious.

Look at the amount of toppings!

This place was Amazing! The man at the counter was super friendly and the pizza was delicious. The restaurant was very quaint but was nice. We took our pizza to go and we ordered the very largest pizza and had it adamized, it was humongous and they put a great amount of toppings. We will definitely be going back there but not too soon because we have leftovers for days. Thank you for not only having quantity but Quality and for being so friendly.

This was the worst. I thought I would try something other than Round Table Pizza . Never again .Pizza was burnt and looked like it was just reheated

Pizza with Cheese + 1 Topping (Pepperoni). Medium (ten slices). House made sauce & dough. Thick, stringy mozzarella cheese.

Operating since 1976, Rubino's Pizza has been serving up quality pizzas. I especially like that they make their own tomato sauce and dough from scratch every day. Their delicious mozzarella cheese is made in Wisconsin. Rubino's Pizza was one of the first places we tried out after moving to Mission Viejo and is one of my top 3 choices whenever I have a craving for pizza. Why? The cheese. THE FOODS | Incredible pizzas, pastas, salads, sandwiches, sides (buffalo hot wings, bread stix, garlic bread, etc.). They also offer cheesecake for dessert. We oinked out on... - Pizza with Cheese + 1 Topping (Pepperoni) - Medium $19.09 + tax | The pepperoni has a slight crisp on the edges. Tomato sauce is sweet, herby, and slightly thick in consistency. The crust has a crunchy exterior and a soft, doughy interior. I love that they don't skimp out on the mozzarella cheese! It's richly dense, gooey, and stringy. It's the best mozzarella I've had on a pizza. - Rubino's Special - Medium $25.39 + tax | Pepperoni, mushrooms, ham, green bell peppers, red onions, and bacon bits. The vegetables are thinly sliced so it doesn't overpower the cheese, which again, is gloriously oozy. This is my go pizza here! Try it out! Side note, their medium sized pizzas are comparable to a typical large sized pizza. So, keep that in mind when you're placing an order. THE RUBINO'S PIZZA FEELS | Early 90's Saved by the Bell vibes with black & white checkered floors and the use of primary colors splashed throughout the joint. The dining area is small; max occupancy is about 40 people. THE PARKING SITUATION | Plenty of free parking in front or nearby. THE ORDERING LOGISTICS | My foodie sidekick walked in and placed our order. The other option is calling in to place an order. They also offer delivery, but only accept cash or check. Maybe that's changed from at least 4 years ago, but I remember writing checks because I rarely carry cash. What are checks? It's a paper where you write things on it and people take it to a bank to exchange for cash. If you walk in, you can pay using a debit/credit card.

After waiting 1 hour and 45 minutes, I called to check on it and the girl who answered was rude and dismissive, insisting I had only ordered 55 minutes ago, even though I had proof it had been almost two hours. She even said, "Do you want me to explain it so you can understand?" which was completely disrespectful. I asked to speak to the manager (I think his name is Chase). When I called again at the two-hour mark, the girl answered still with an attitude, I was told they had to remake my order. Then the girl handed the phone to Chase, He apologized, but never explained why this happened after such a long wait. I asked to cancel my order, but instead of honoring that, he kept pushing a 40% discount. At that point, I was just tired, hungry and defeated. We regularly spend $120-$150 on pizza every other Sunday, and trying to find the best pizza around there, but after this experience, we will not be ordering again. I did like one of the pizza I ordered, but I refuse to put myself in that situation again. The issue wasn't just the delay, it was the lack of professionalism and respect on handling this. Took 2 hours and maybe 20 or so minutes to finally get my order

We were happily greeted by our server Gianna and the Bartender, both smiled and welcomed us. The food came quickly and at perfect temperatures. We discovered 'happy hour' while there and ordered from that menu since we like to share small plates. This happy hour is one of the best values in the Laguna Niguel area! The QUALITY of this food sets them apart from others! The restaurant itself is small and intimate with music on certain nights. We arrived at 4:15 so there were 4 people at the bar, and tables were open. We ordered a caesar salad, the calamari, and Pappardelle Bolognese, plus my hubbies favorite the famous 'giant' meatball starter topped with marinara and burrata, served in an all-clad skillet. The Caesar salad was just enough for my husband and was served cold with crisp romaine lettuce, fried capers, buttery croutons but it was the dressing that was really delicious! It was perfectly balanced, and we could actually taste the anchovies! Yum. That house-made huge meatball I mentioned is a blend of beef, pork, and veal, and one of the best meatballs in the area (and beyond), no exaggeration! As an Italian Nonna, I've been making meatballs for decades and this recipe is legit. The pappardelle is house-made by a friend of the owner. He spends time in his kitchen and you can absolutely taste it with every bite! The pasta was cooked perfectly and the bolognese was delightful, I could taste the richness and depth of flavors with a hint of wine. Yum. The calamari was perfect! I wonder if they soak the squid before breading them because it's so tender even the tentacles (which are my favorite part ) melt in your mouth! The batter is tasty and the breading had the perfect balance of spices that blended together nicely and it was served with a side of marinara and lemon wedges (the later is my preference.) The butter cake is house-made by the owner and decadently delicious, sooo yummy. We brought it home but ate the delicious ice cream on the side. This is a great little neighborhood ristorante and a favorite of many! It's a great place to eat 'alfresco' on the outdoor patio, or listen to music on Friday or Saturday night. Make a reservation as it not a large place. Buon appetito!

There seemed to be enough people working but for whatever reason the service was incredibly slow. Our server would approach one table, then disappear, then return with one item. Them repeat. It was so bad I had to go inside and see what was going on. (20 min after receiving a drink) There were plenty of employees- mostly they were standing around. Our server was very nice- and the food was great, but management needs to figure out a system for serving that avoids 20 minutes delays before ordering. Our server was serving tables in and out of the restaurant and having a hard time at that. Finished our drinks before we were able to get her attention to order our dinner.

But sadly... They seem to be terrible at actually providing what was ordered. Tonight we ordered three pizzas and two were completely wrong. This seems to have been getting worse over time. One of our common pizzas we prefer to have jalapeno on half of the pizza due to differing heat tolerance in the family. We explicitly called this out while ordering and got jalapeno across the entire pizza multiple times. Ok, I guess we can deal--those with lesser heat tolerance can just pick it off. We've called in the past and the customer service has been apologetic and in one case offered a credit for a future order. Tonight, we had two completely wrong pizzas: 1. Pepperoni, mushroom, red onion, artichoke. Well, we got sausage, red onion, and artichoke. Two of four toppings were correct, one was swapped, and one completely missing. 2. Sausage and mushroom. Well, we got a mushroom pizza. No sausage to be found. When calling, the person answering the phone was completely dismissive. He read off the order [showing that what Grubhub transmitted to them was correct] and didn't care that what they delivered was flat out wrong. And then said that if we wanted anything done, to take it up with Grubhub. A combination of incompetence and poor customer service is not great. It has us thinking that we need to find a new local pizza joint. Which is terrible because the pizza is pretty good. But if they can't deliver what we order, then we never know what's coming. And in a house with some food allergies, we want to know that what we order will be correct. This has been our local trusted pizza joint for almost a decade. But it seems that it's going downhill, and that is truly sad.
