Well, this pizza was definitely filling well I've been lucky enough to try a new place actually in some cases two new places a day but I found this place really nice. I enjoyed sitting in the 50s style diner seating area. The pizza was fresh filling and I had to tell you, they have the best cheese I've ever tasted in my life but if you want a pizza that fills you up go for the small, which is eight slices but I'm telling you right now if you get the large, be sure to bring three extra people because they will fill you up they offer sandwiches here. One of these is the Italian sausage and cheese. They will bring it out to your table. You can enjoy sports or any program on the TV and I'm gonna tell you the build your own menu is really amazing but I had to have a pepperoni and sausage... This is great local pizza. There are so many great types of pizza available to us in South OC: NY pizza, Chicago style, Neapolitan, artisanal sourdough based pizza, and so on. Rubino's offers a pizza essential to our rich pizza tapestry. I call it Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles pizza. This is pure 90's pizza goodness, and the place has all the nostalgia of a 90's pizza place. Remember those pizza commercials where you break off a slice and there's stretchy cheese for miles? I have been a regular customer of Rubino's since we moved to south OC 14 years ago. I was lucky enough to run across a coupon in a local mailer, and have been coming back ever since. It's not the cheapest pizza in town, but the crust is chewy and just the right thickness for me. The amount of the sauce, cheese and pepperoni fill me up and provide meals for days. My wife has always been satisfied with her GF cheese pizza. The inside of the store is that of an old-time pizza joint, but I have never eaten in, so it isn't important to me. Incredibly flavorful red pizza sauce that makes the whole pizza great. I recommend the "Rubinos special" combo pizza. I always ask for it well-done as the pizza holds up better that way. We have been enjoying their pizza for many years. Our kids grew up on Rubino's. The pizzas are old-school, traditional - no Neapolitan pizzas here. But the crust has a great chew and a nice flavor. And, the sauce is amazing. In my opinion, the sauce is what makes the pizza sp good. I really wanted actual thin crust. - Kinda expensive. My large pizza with about 5 toppings came to $40. Other pizza places can provide me the same size and topping amount (or more) at almost two-thirds the price. Each additional topping is potentially $3! - They don't have red pepper packets. Instead they come in little plastic cups. Even with lids, if you aren't careful, it could spill everywhere. - Long wait. Took about 20min, even though there were only 2 customers at the moment. - The pizza didn't even taste that good. Whenever I visit their store, it's always clean and well maintained. I've also tried the Hawaiian Pizza, as well. No complaints from me! The crust is somewhat thick and crispy, the way I like it. We oinked out on... - Pizza with Cheese + 1 Topping (Pepperoni) - Medium $19.09 + tax | The pepperoni has a slight crisp on the edges. Tomato sauce is sweet, herby, and slightly thick in consistency. The crust has a crunchy exterior and a soft, doughy interior. I love that they don't skimp out on the mozzarella cheese! It's richly dense, gooey, and stringy. Went here tonight. I'll have to admit I had lowered expectations based on some of the previous reviews, but I had a bunch of kids I needed to feed and it was close to where we were at. From what I could tell, they've made strong efforts towards excellent pizzas and service. Everyone was so helpful. I ordered ahead and they were super accommodating. The pizzas were thicker doughy crust that was perfect for their great tasting pizza sauce. The sauce wasn't too strong, just very deep flavor. The amount of cheese was exactly perfect for the pizza. Not over cooked and not undercooked. Between the 5 4th graders and 3 adults, we finished 2 jumbo pizzas and 14 wings. The kids just came from the indoor trampoline park, so they came with an appetite. Everyone left pleasantly stuffed. We'll be back. read more
