Service was polite. It was very clean inside. Always a good sign. The parking lot in front is a little small but it's in the same parking lot as a grocery store, so parking should never be an issue. I placed my order through the app. They have a deal right now for a free taco with purchase through the app. So, I've been here before. Zero issues today or with prior visits. Beverage options include mango iced tea. Yasss. They have coke products. They have a salsa bar. I love a good salsa bar. Lots of options for types of salsa and toppings. My fave salsa is the green salsa. They also have jalapeños and carrots. I got 3 kinds of tacos. Langostino taco -my fave taco from here. It's full of langostino and the combination of flavors are so good. It's mild in flavors, but exactly what you want when you're craving a langostino taco. Avocado is included. It's like $7 after tax for just a singular taco (for this one, not the others), but I crave this one constantly. Shrimp taco- battered big juicy pieces of shrimp really bring it home. It wasn't too salty, and they weren't overcooked. It comes with cabbage and pico de gall and a little sauce. Yum. Signature fish taco -battered fish (no picture bc it got mushed up before I ate it, wouldn't do it justice) however it's crispy battered fish, it was just a little oily, but flavor-wise was pretty good. The Battered fish is not crispy, in fact the batter and fish are tough and unappetizing. It could have been the delivery time where it lost its crunchiness but I'd expect it to be moist not tough. When I don't know what to eat, this rubios is always a great option! This location is always clean and the employees are always nice. I typically get fish tacos, shrimp tacos or the chicken burrito. My favorite salsa is the green verde salsa- good on everything and a great dip for chips too! Don't forget to sign up for their email list because they send promos and coupons sometimes, the prices on the food can be a little high, so getting a coupon for $2 off helps lower it a bit. read more

I have been getting your chopped salad for years. You have always had the chipotle white sauce on it. Now you don't offer that anymore and you put something called chipotle ranch, which is absolutely horrible tasting. Why did you change it? At least offer it on your app to have that instead. Super slooooow. If the food takes this long give out free chips. My order for four things cost $60: as much as a sit down restaurant. So between the wait and cost give us some free chips. Also had a missing item in my to go order. If staff can't read a simple list and pack the bag knowing everything the customer spent money on is in there: you aren't qualified for a simple job. I wasn't the only one. I saw multiple delivery drivers check their orders and then ask for missing items. Food was okay. Not worth the 25 minutes it took waiting for. They have a great menu. Good variety. I often wonder why I don't eat there more often. I love all the fish and seafood options. Most places seem to have the same old tasteless stuff. At Rubio's, I find myself having a hard time deciding. We stopped in around lunch time. There were a few people in front of us, but the line moved quickly. We decided on a steak burrito and a shrimp burrito. Both were hot and fresh. Very flavorful. There is a salsa bar. Prices seem high until you take that first yummy bite. I don't know about you guys, but it has been one heckuva work week. Ughhh. I opted to splurge after work and enjoy dinner at Rubio's. I've been here a couple of times before, but never took it upon myself to write a review... 'til now (and I didn't forget the pics before I scarfed down my food this time either. WIN/WIN!) So... Rubio's is a great, chill spot with good food. They seem to specialize in a tex-mex / mexican / seafood kinda flair. The bulk of their mainstay seems to incorporate seafood into the dish in one way or another. This location is very clean, the employees are friendly and the food... well, like I said, the food is good. I opted for the Cabo Plate which is a good choice if you've come hungry. The plate consists of their classic grilled shrimp burrito and their original fish taco. The burrito has grilled shrimp, refried beans and a host of other goodies. The shrimp is grilled to perfection every time and the beans are not too overdone. I typically smother the burrito in their roasted pichante salsa which has more flavors going on in my mouth than I really know what to do with... it's delicious. Not a lot of spice, but still a ton of flavor. The meal itself really isn't horrible for you and goodness knows there's worse things you could be eating. The plate isn't finished though. You also get a side of their famous no-fried pinto beans and a large handful of their tortilla chips which seem to round out the entire plate without pushing you over the edge into a food coma. Just don't say I didn't warn you. Their pinto beans are creamy and the texture is excellent. This is definitely one of my favorite weekend lunch spots and I'd recommend it to any of my friends and family! Kudos to everyone at this Rubio's location for a job well done. read more

I'm sorry but I'm disappointed. We ordered a California bowl with shrimp and a chicken quesadilla. Absolutely nothing special... my shrimp on my bowl were okayyyy but lacking flavor and spice. The bowl price was not made for what was in my bowl. My husbands quesadilla was "Taco Bell" grade. Nothing special whatsoever. Today I went in to get fish tacos. This used to be a great go to place and I was excited to finally be able to go back to my 'go to' Fish taco place since moving back. Well I ordered my fish taco plate to go, mistake number one. At least 8 people behind me were served before me that were dining in for their food. I asked the woman what was happening with my food and why others that came in after me were being served and she replied they had an easy order. One family had multiple items and I had a fish taco plate. So I call BS. 30 minutes later and still counting people being served behind me and I told her I had to leave and she could just give my food to one of the 6 guys that just walked up cause I had a meeting and I left. This was the worst experience of my life and I WILL NEVER set foot here! I had even provided a 20% tip to these people! Does anyone care that this place has gone downhill? Is there a GM, DM or someone that leads this establishment cause this was completely unacceptable. My total amount that I gave away today was $17.08. Never never go here!! And yes other customers were asking for their food too. But, they got theirs and came in after me. So there is clearly a labor and customer service issue here. This Rubios location is getting a little long in the tooth but to it's advantage. It really has a nice vibe to it, a little old school in the décor package, a little wear on the fixtures but clean and well maintained. You can almost feel the sand between your toes and the salt air in your face when you walk in (and no, the floor is not dirty-clean up your mind :) Featuring one of the best salsa bars in town, complete with chopped onions mixed with cilantro! I know I consume half a pint of salsa every time I go here. Chips are excellent, the chicken burrito especial is my jam, with the afore mentioned salsa slathered on to the point of deteriorating the tortilla. I'm a member of their birthday club and they sent me a BOGO coupon so the P and I went there for dinner and really enjoyed ourselves. The manager who took our order was absolutely one of the nicest people I've run into this year, so accommodating and friendly. Service was fast and accurate, I know, kind of a low bar but I'm always surprised when places don't hit it. Although I'm a little "Rubio'ed" out from eating there weekly at another location close to where I used to work, it's still one of my favorites, I hope they stick around. :) read more

Man, I forgot about Rubio's for a while, but was pleasantly reminded what a solid option it is when looking for a quick, on-the-cheap-side lunch. I had a shrimp and bacon burrito, spicy and fresh and hearty, and I managed to sample the shrimp tacos my wife ordered as well - really solid. This location constantly spills their garbage in the parking lot in front of the garbage receptacle. This Friday morning, there were black beans, avocado pits, and garbage spread over the asphalt. Their back door and pavement behind the kitchen are covered in black sludge, while trash bags pile high in the rocks and bushes outside. I have been to many of the Rubio's in the Phoenix area but this one takes the cake. I love the morale of the restaurants and there is always ambiance. I can tell why people love this location due to the lines, I drive 5 miles past a different Rubio's location to go to this one on 59th Ave & 101. As far as the food goes, it is always consistent portions and never any complaints, even when I grab take out. The main reason I come to this location outside of the phenomenal food is because of the management, Benjamin in particular. Every time I come here with family or my girlfriend he is always smiling and happy and makes us feel like family when we are there. He is someone I can see moving up the ladder one day due to his incredible management skills, it really shows that he holds his staff to a standard and that is what I think is driving this location. read more

This is by far the worst Rubios I have been to. The gentleman behind the counter (Ben) was on a power trip and refused my husband and I service because I didn't have a proper mask on. I am in my first trimester of my pregnancy and my morning sickness lasts all day. I have an extremely hard time wearing masks ( I start dry heaving and puking seconds after putting a mask over my face) so I opt for the neck gators. He claimed he would get fired if he served us. I've been to this location multiple times before and had no issues what so ever. This is unacceptable behavior towards a paying customer and we will not be back.
