Rubio's in general is pretty good, you can find multiple good choices here. This bowl was delicious. The service was fast, the inside was actually very clean. On a scale i'd give it a 3.9! It also has parking but beware it gets very busy during lunch hours!

yup still ordering my fish tacos from Rubio's whenever I visit San Diego - 3x a year - Rubios isn't the same in NorCal - I think you need the summer heat, the sand, the ocean, the slight sunburn, walk in and order the traditional fish tacos and pretend like you're at the original, sitting in the sun in PB. That was the best. Reminds me of jetskiing the jetty and down to the point and back, wrestling our machines back into the jetty, and sitting in the warm sun eating Rubio's. Solid. Consistent. And the employees at thie location are all polite and efficient. Love the salsa table - let's go!

I visited here with my family after our trip to the Birch Aquarium on March 22, 2026. At the time, I didn't pay much attention to the total since we were tired and hungry. However, today I decided to review the receipt I found in my purse. Upon closer inspection, I realized the bill was higher than expected, which caught my attention. Please be aware and doublecheck your receipts, as we were charged $11.97 for a single Mexican Coke, while my other drink, Jarrito, was only $3.99.

Salsa bar is clean and filled with fresh items.

First time to this location. Took a little longer.. but it was a Saturday at 6:30pm and blocks away from UCSD. Our order was behind many online orders... but it was all good and they took care of us for waiting. Serving portions was perfect. Maybe too much. But great flavor. Salsa bar was well stocked and fresh. No dried up nastiness. Everything was tidy and clean. Good to see.

This is a Mexican taco restaurant originating from California, famous for its fish tacos. It offers great value for money and quick service. There is a small condiment station where you can choose your own sauces and side dishes. The location of this restaurant is excellent, with beautiful scenery. Sitting outdoors, you can see the temple. The lobster and beef flavors are also highly recommended--they taste amazing.

The service is great. Their salsa bar is my favorite and their lemonade and ice tea options are delicious. In my mind, this is my reason to go there. Their food is just "Okay" which is where the salsa bar comes in to add flavor. I had the three taco plate which was...acceptable. The shrimp taco had the best flavor of the three, the other two fish tacos I could have done without. Low on flavor.

Rubio's is a 3 or 4 Star spot. They get the 4th Star for the speed at which your order comes out. This isn't the first or second place I go for fish tacos but they're consistent and quick.

I've been going to Rubio's since I attended SDSU, when they used to actually dip the fish in batter in the restaurant before frying it. I used to love how the fish would come out in all these crazy shapes thanks to the batter solidifying in the oil at odd times... those days are gone. The food now is OK, it hits the spot when you "need it." but man, this particular location needs Rubio's HQ to help out! They are constantly busy, which is why HQ probably kept it open while it shut down 50+ other locations in Cali. But the kitchen is tiny, preparers look beat, and the pickup shelf is open for anyone to take someone else's order (on the account of the counter person being slammed). That's what supposedly happened to my order, even though the Rubio's app said the order was "in progress" 20 minutes after the promised time. The person in charge never found my order so she had the preparers make another order: 2x salmon tacos and 1 fish taco especial. Now about 35 minutes after the promised time I walk out with my order and drive home. I down the two salmon tacos with green sauce... so good. Then I get to my fish taco especial... and something is missing... there's no guacamole or cheese. It's a regular fish taco. Out of principle, I had to take/drive it back and if you know the parking lot this Rubio's is at, it's a royal pain to park. I mean REALLY bad around mealtimes and after work thanks to Whole Foods. I get back to the restaurant and I see the two mgrs that helped/apologized to me 20 min ago in front having a meeting with some higher ups. One caught my eye and said he'd be right in. I showed him the taco vs. my order. He took it back and gave me 3 coupons for any taco on the menu for free in a future visit. Then he came back with two fresh fish taco especials. Guess I cannot complain too much. (But messing up orders and giving away free "make goods" often will not help a bankrupt company such as Rubio's). I drove home, I opened the box... they forgot the cheese and the limes. *sigh* True story!

man so i pulled up here on taco tuesday after studyin all day n takin a midterm. taco prices were like 3 bucks each which is not too shabby at all. i got 2 chicken 2 steak and 1 of those fish especials or however u spell it and they were pretty good man. not bad for the price, and for being a chain. but i will say that the food lacked some flavor man. that shi needs seasoning fr ngl i mean like damn. i was piling that shi with lime and the salsa bar stuff n none of the salsas were seasoned either bruh. man if they added salt to their shi it would've so much better man. but overall, the food is very solid for the price on tuesdays. also tacos were bigger than i expected too so i got full after like 3 of the 5 tacos i bought. oh and with the app deals man, i got 5 tacos for 9 bucks which is fyeeee

I just love Rubio's fish tacos! My go to is the Coastal Trio. Fresh, fast, and delicious not to mention healthy too. Did you know that they also have beer? A great place for happy hour with friends and the best news of all is that the salsa bar is back baby! Now no one has to know that you actually drink green salsa and just use fish tacos as an excuse to consume it Plenty of parking out front and it is free.

I think I was sitting in the store for at least 30 minutes while a family member waited in our car and watched several people park, get their orders and leave. Two people who ordered after us received their food before we did. I finally stood up and only then did an associate crabbily pack up our order and give it to us. When we first arrived, no one even showed up at the counter for at least five minutes. There was another customer waiting behind us as well. My sandwich (Happy Hippie) was not very good...insubstantial and put together in a blah manner. A family member who had the "not so fried chicken sandwich" said it was too salty. I paid $62 for this order (with a tip, which I had added before the long wait...) It obviously wasn't a good value, This is a beautiful and clean store but a general lack of enthusiasm from the associates, inconsistent customer service, high prices, and mediocre quality food will dissuade me from making any future visits to this location.
