Vacationing one day with the "FAM" in Cali over the summer. they wanted me to go camping with them in Temecula so about 3 bottles of Lambrusco later I decided to join them. When one night turned into 3 I had enough of this sh*t and drove to this place called Rubios, located in ths big shopping plaza that has a Target. This place is in the back next to 24 hour fitness. I was expecting it to be a cheap knockoff of Acapulco's but to my surprise this place is more like a Baja Fresh with a much better selection on their menu!! Now I'm not for one minute exaggerating but there is this burrito there that they call: The Chimichurri Salmon Burrito. I don't know what the freak they put in that Chimchurri sauce (Crack, Coke, Heroine, crumbled up pieces of Oreo cookies I kidding of course) but my point is this Chimichurri Salmon Burrito: IT IS FREAK'N GOOOOOD! In fact it's better than good it is HEAVENLY! IT'S AS IT WAS MADE BY Angelic Cherubs IN THEIR KITCHEN. The place was clean yada-yada-yada. Service was good yada-yada-yada but most importantly this Chimichurri Salmon Burrito is all I care about telling you. Now, I haven't been to a Rubio's in a few years, but wow this Rubio's location is basically a restaurant. Real utensils (metal), real bowl with my California Bowl with Seared Shrimp, and Manager delivery of food. I was blown away. Rubio's food has always been tasty and good but I literally felt like I was at a restaurant with the good service, large dining room and patio, and just the ambiance. Will definitely be coming here again after my work outs! read more

i come to rubios sometimes when i get a break at school, which isn't the best idea just because their lines are ridiculously long. they usually only have one person on the registers which is crazy because they're one of the busiest food places in this plaza. its also getting three stars because one of the first times i went to this rubios (a few months agthere was a beetle in my onion/cilantro mix. i wish i would've gotten a picture but i was just so disgusted that i walked out. overall they have great employees they just need to be quicker. UPDATE: i'm super happy that the manager of this location contacted me and did his absolute best with customer service! he was super sweet and helpful and i just wanted to say thank you to the manager for putting customers needs first! read more

Rubios really delivers for a fast food restaurant! Their freshness and quality and usually top notch! When you dine here ask for chips if you order a burrito and they will give them to you ahead of time (I like having something to snack on while I wait for my food). The food is good and fresh and the restaurant is very clean! The staff was prompt, friendly and a pleasure to work with. The street tacos are really good but on the small side. The mild salsa is decent, the chili salsa is flavorful but not much heat. I mixed it with the Diablo sauce and that did the trick. The tomatillo sauce was not my cup of tea . Extremely disappointment in the service. Had some shopping to do at Target with my 20 month old grandson and decided to get an early lunch before returning home. Arrived at 10:58 am and placed my order. The restaurant was very quiet; only a few customers. By 11:20 I decided to find out why we hadn't received our food. The kitchen was staffed with only 2 people and then there was only one cashier. My grandson chicken nuggets were in the kitchen window and my order was sitting on a tray behind the cashier. She noticed that my grandson was restless and asked if I wanted it to go. REALLY! I guess so. It didn't help that I had to remove him from the high chair so I could find out were our food was. By the time I got home the food was cold. There are a lot of restaurants in Temecula and I will probably not come back to this particular Rubio's. read more

Rubio's is my all time fav especially the Salsa Shrimp Taco's however, the Rubio's by Target has gone down hill! We just had a visit and my first experience after ordering our food was that the forks in the fork dispenser were wet and still had food in them. Then, the shrimp on my taco's were still translucent in color (still raw). The food was under seasoned and the beans were super soupy with no salt of flavor what so ever! The Rubio's in Murrieta and the one in the 79 south supersede this establishment. We were famished so we did not complain but in the future our decision will definitely be one of the other 2 Rubio's. read more

I was put off of fish tacos a few years ago but decided to give Rubio's a try. So glad we did. Ordered the original fish taco which had a nice size batter coated piece of white fish with shredded cabbage. Put some lime that came with it, picante sauce, and some chopped onion and cilantro and loved every bite. Loved sitting outside in the fresh air and sun. Great place. read more

I'm a big fan of Rubios. They have a really solid fish taco, bean and cheese burrito and salsas. When the crispy shrimp tacos are in season (usually March) they are scrumptious. The grilled shrimp tacos are not good at all (little soggy shrimp). The salads are good and fresh and be sure to try the chipotle white sauce on everything.....it is very yummy! read more

I love Rubio's but the customer service at this location was fantastic especially an employee that goes by, Francis. I had ordered through Uber eats and wanted to make modifications to my order but they didn't get it yet. Over the phone; Francis got a piece of paper out and wrote out what I had needed done to my order to make sure I was completely satisfied. I used to order from here a lot. But I stopped going as much because they obviously don't care about to-go orders. I ordered the California Bowl with grilled chicken. There was like 7 little cubes of chicken in this entire bowl. I called just to let the manager know and he wouldn't listen (talked over me), was argumentative and made excuses. I didn't want anything from them... just to let them know that it happened and to be mindful not to screw over other customers. Hey manager, try LISTENING before talking over your customer and getting argumentative. Oh and add a little more chicken to your orders... customers shouldn't have to pay $10 for a bowl of rice. read more

The Fish Tacos here have always been the signature dish, although lately they seem to have gone down hill a bit. Perhaps they are turning to "The Way of McDonalds" by pumping the fish with GMOS thus ruining the wonderful taste, but I can't say for sure. I've been going here since it first opened, and the fish tacos were amazing. The last time I went here was about six months ago so maybe they changed back to the old recipe, but maybe not. Today I ordered rubios curbside from the app and my order was to be ready at 11:49. I was sitting in the parking lot until 12:09 and still no order. I proceeded to call and let them know I hadn't received my order, mind you I had 3 hungry kids waiting, and they told me they'd bring it right out. I waiting another 10 minutes, nothing. I then called again and asked for a manager and told them what was going on.. they said "oh sorry we're really slammed in here". I said I've been waiting nearly 30 minutes since my order was supposed to be ready and they didn't seem to care about how inconvenient that was for their customer, not to mention the gas I wasted in my suv. I asked them to cancel my order and they said they did. I'm still waiting to see if they actually canceled it. Needless to say I left after more than 30 minutes after ordering with no food, 3 hungry kids, and a loss of patience with rubios. This is the second time this has happened to me with them and I will no longer go to rubios and support their business. So came here with my husband and another couple for a quick bite. It got busy while we were standing in line. We order first and almost 15 mins after our friends got and finished their food, we had to stop someone and ask about our food. The manager finally ran out food out to us and when I asked about the delay, he abruptly answered and rushed away. On top of things, our food was lukewarm and I heard another customer who had been right behind us complaining about the same issues we did. It has been 6 months since my last review. It's a shame I will have to change it this visit. I normally stop in every Tuesday after the gym for the Tuesday special. Today wasn't so busy. 12-15 individuals were waiting for their food. I arrived almost exactly at 2:30. It is 2:46, I just received my food. Others have come in the same time I did and still haven't recieved theirs. The tacos were good. A little too crunchy on the outside leaving the inside a slightly less desirable texture. (A little too greasy) Their not bad just not the perfect taco they usually are. For the few people in the restaurant today I expect service to be moving faster. The 2:30 time on the 1.50 tacos is a little ridiculous but I get it, however, when the cashier told me they had been doing it earlier I was a bit frustrated. As a previous business owner I would not allow a promo outside of the time frame setup to be acceptable. Now he could have meant minutes earlier not as I assume hours or anything. He was very nice. I hope the owners and managers look at these reviews and do their best to improve on the critiques that are put out there for them. There is no reason they can't obtain 5 stars and keep local loyal customers. Without critiques you can't improve! Ps: my third taco was absolutely perfect all around. The food is good. They are known for their fish tacos which are great, I haven't had anything I didn't enjoy from there but it's nothing that will blow your socks off. However I think that are very over priced, and if you have special request on your order, such as no cheese, you REALLY have to emphasize that to them, and even then sometimes they still don't listen. We normally call ahead then go to pick up. It's always clean, and the has a nice environment for a sit down laid back lunch. read more
