Prices for the food were reasonable but the bloody Mary's and other breakfast cocktails were a little on the expensive side. Service was great. We sat at the bar, the bartender was a wonderful gentleman who honored our "buy 1 get 1, big easy mimosa with a purchase of an entree" even though we ended up ordering a la carte. This place was packed the day we went so we decided to go elsewhere and try another time. We used the waitlist from Yelp which was nice. Food was meh, not sure if it's the alcoholic breakfast drinks that bring people's attention but the food was so so. The biscuits and gravy actually had good flavors but the biscuits were huge and hardly any gravy. my husband had the omelet and said it was not good, shrimp was very over cooked and the cheese was burnt. I ordered my kids the French toast to split and the waitress assumed we wanted the kids which was called French toast bites, when they came out with the French toast bites, we took them because I wasn't waiting any longer for French toast to come out... they were so over cooked that they were basically like a cinnamon covered croutons that were pure oil. My family and I come to Gulf Shores every year. This was our first experience at The Ruby Slipper. They were very busy but were seated within 5-10 minutes. Our waitress was very prompt at getting to our table to get drink orders and to let us know the specials. Our drinks came out very quickly and the waitress took our food orders. Before I was ready for a refill of coffee our food was on the table. Everyone in my party was very happy with their food and the portion sizes were very large. I had the Salmon omelet with goat cheese, my wife has the cinnamon pancakes and my daughter has the French toast batons. I would recommend any of those items when you visit the Ruby Slipper. Had brunch here our first day the beach! The bacon infused vodka Bloody Mary was to die for!! I had the Migas and my partner had the Costa Rican. The Migas was tasty with a little kick. Really not worth the wait, hassle or price. Yelp told us we had a 6 minute wait. I placed our names in the queue and we were there within 5 minutes (our condo was across the street.) We waited almost 45 minutes for a table. Each of us ordered some sort of benedict or omelet. They were all cold and bland. My family and I had breakfast at this establishment Saturday March 30th. The food was delicious. I have very picky eaters in my family and everyone cleaned their plate. Really good food. Diverse menu lots of omelettes and Benedicts that you won't see other places. I had smoked salmon and Goat cheese with fresh tarragon and hollandaise. I'm a little picky about browning of my omelette around edges but this was so good I overlooked this little slip up. She had stuffed pineapple cheese I cake French toast( changes daily) I don't like sweet breakfast but she loved it. Our waitress doina was very friendly and efficient. Definitely come back next trip here. This place has only been 2 months but is worth the slightly higher than average pice. Not just bacon and egg joint. Also had some really good sounding entrees for lunch. Only point against is that is noisy. But I think they'll solve that in future. My first visit to the Ruby slipper was so good that we came back the next day. My first choice was the Benedict with hot smoked salmon. It was delicious. The biscuit base was light and tasty. The flaked salmon and fried capers were delicious. The service was excellent. The next day we came back and enjoyed eggs cochon which was heavenly. Large portions.
