I'm actually glad we stopped here. I saw it in passing as we headed back to the airport. My wife had never heard of them and I told her I think they are similar to a Chilis with a variety type menu. I was right. Exactly what I thought is would be like. Just like a Chilis. Nothing more, nothing less. Food was about the exact same quality, but it did serve its purpose. My belly is full. Ready to go flying. Dicks

Thinnest ribeye ever served. The salad bar saved the review. The Mac and cheese was ok. Sticky ribs were way over priced as you get less than half a rack for $16.

This is a fairly new one. It's next to Auto Zone. Getting in and out of the lot was easy. Not crazy crowded at the time we got there. I love their salad bar but like any RT's everyone being seated in that area walks directly by. We did the special 2 for $24. I felt my chicken was a little bit thicker than my friends but hers was longer. They were out of baked potatoes but our waiter had good suggestions on what to substitute.

Ruby Tuesday Rip Off In Niceville Ordered a piece of chocolate cake for dessert. The pic on the menu was a nice fluffy textured cake with a yummy looking icing/filling that was about 1/4 inch thick and a lighter colored chocolate. (see attached pic) When it came out, I kid you not, the icing on top was about as thick as a nickel and was a dark brown, almost black, nothing even remotely close to resembling what they represented on the menu. In addition, the texture was not what a fluffy cake looks or tastes like but one that stuck to your teeth like a damp, heavy fudge texture and so much chocolate taste you could barely stomach it. It reminded me of one of the little rectangular fudge cakes that you buy 12 to a box individually wrapped in cellophane in taste and texture. To top it off, it was $7.99 and about the size of 4 fingers on a small hand (hence the rip-off) I wanted to address it with them but I decided that would be my last trip there instead. I used to love their salad bar but they cut the spinach off and have the cheapest stuff they can put on it now. Last time I ate it there was even rice on it. Who puts rice on a salad bar? And the salad bar has pretty much tripled in price. It's okay to cut back if you are trying to hold your prices down but they don't seem to understand that. They have pretty much cheapened everything and their prices have skyrocketed. One day people will say, enough.

Roach in the shrimp fajitas. Disgusting

Me and my wife ate lunch there today. We had 2 salad bars and had steak fajitas and shrimp fajitas to take home for dinner. Upon opening the box that the shrimp fajitas were in, bam big dead cockroach staring at us. I called them up to tell them about it and the manager tells me it could of came from anywhere. I proceeded to tell him I wasn't calling to get my money back, just to inform him of the situation just to see what he would say. That's when he tells me it could have gotten in there when we left. It's a shame because we liked going there to eat. I will not ever go in there and eat again. Freakin gross. Made me sick to my stomach.

I'd heard great things about this spot being a local go-to several years ago, so I was looking forward to a solid meal with our large group. Unfortunately, the experience just didn't live up to the reputation. It was exceptionally quiet--perhaps because it's the off-season--but even with the lack of a crowd, the food and service were underwhelming across the board. A lot of us ordered the burgers, and they were just "okay" at best. I went for the one topped with pulled pork, thinking it would be a highlight, but it really didn't work. The flavors didn't mesh, and it was a structural mess--the whole thing just broke apart and became a struggle to eat. Across our entire large group, I don't think anyone was super impressed with their meal. The service didn't help matters, either. We ordered several cocktails, and they were consistently either late or just plain wrong. Since it wasn't a very busy night, there wasn't really a clear reason for the lapse in attention. It's a shame because the setting is beautiful, but between the hit-or-miss drinks and the lackluster food, the whole night felt like it missed the mark.

But as the saying goes: never judge a book by its cover. We were absolutely blown away by the experience. Despite the modest exterior, the food is nothing short of world-class. I ordered the ribeye, and it was cooked to absolute perfection--tender, flavorful, and easily one of the best steaks I've had in a long time. Since we were a large group, we ended up ordering a significant portion of the menu. Between us, we tried the fish, shrimp, and various pasta plates. It felt like we sampled almost everything they offer, and every single dish was an absolute hit. It's rare to find a place where the entire table is equally impressed with their meal, but Basil & Baxter's pulled it off effortlessly. Beyond the incredible kitchen, the service was outstanding. The staff was attentive, welcoming, and handled our group with the kind of professionalism that makes a night out feel special. If you're in Niceville, do not pass this place up. It might look humble from the street, but the flavors and hospitality inside are massive. We will definitely be back!

They are always busy with tables and to go orders. There must of been new bartender. My husband and I had ordered the mock Butterfly and Lemonade drink we had previously and enjoyed. The first time we had it, it came out in a regular tall water glass. This time it came in a martini glass and the first sip was....OMG strong with liquor. We sent them back to get the nonalcoholic drinks and they came back in a whisky glass, not the taller water glass. Not sure if this was a mistake or they really raised their prices. The lemonade drink with a little color added to it is $7! But, the food is always delicious. My husband had the pot pie and it was the size of a regular 12 inch pie! I had the pork chop which was thick and tender. Some in our party love the bisque soup and order a bowl, which is huge. The cup size was more what we expect as a bowl size. The shrimp and grits is phenomenal too, which I have personally tried. Service is great and friendly. You are given a basket of delicious crusty warm buns comped but if you ask for more (which we did) note that they are .50 cents each. We will continue to visit this restaurant each winter while we are here.

A charming little…read morecafé that looked like it had big dreams and about 85% of the throw pillows to prove it. We grabbed seats at the bar--prime real estate for both people-watching and silent negotiations with the universe about how long coffee should take to arrive. The menu got a thorough inspection while we waited. And waited. Not a hostile wait. More like... a polite standoff between us and the concept of service. Eventually, victory. Orders placed. I went all in: biscuits and sausage gravy, eggs over easy, maple bacon--the kind of breakfast that doesn't whisper "good morning," it kicks the door in and demands respect. My son went classic with French toast and sausage, a choice that says, "I trust the fundamentals." Now, let's talk ambiance. Coffee in paper cups. Not a dealbreaker, but it does send a subtle message: "We're still figuring some things out." The interior felt like a Pinterest board mid-argument--close, but not quite ready for the reveal episode. Service? Nice. Professional. Also slightly resembling a live-action game of pinball. Our waitress was great, but the overall flow had a certain freestyle jazz quality--improvised, energetic, and occasionally confusing. Refills were more of a "self-reflection exercise" than an offered service, so ordering extra water was a tactical masterstroke. But then... the food arrived. And just like that, all sins were forgiven. That biscuit and sausage gravy? Absolute bullseye. The kind of dish that makes you pause mid-bite and question whether your childhood memories have been quietly outperformed. It didn't just taste homemade--it tasted like someone's mom was in the back, judging everyone and getting it right. The French toast held its own--golden, solid, no nonsense. Exactly what it needed to be. So here's the deal: the service may have been running a little behind the breakfast parade, but the food? Leading the band, confetti cannon and all. Final verdict: 4 stars. Not because it couldn't be 5--but because it's this close. Tighten up the service, ditch the paper cups, finish decorating like you mean it, and you've got a heavyweight contender. Until then, it remains a gem--slightly unpolished, but absolutely worth the stop.

Full bar. Plenty of domestic & imported beers on tap or bottled/canned along with mixed drinks and hard seltzers. They even have a couple alcohol-free options and energy drinks. I got 20 boneless wings (10 Lemon Pepper Dry Rub and 10 Honey BBQ). The Honey BBQ was sweet and savory with just the right amount of sauce on the wings. The Lemon Pepper was more on the lemon-y side but not overpowering and had a hint of that pepper kick as an aftertaste. The chicken is juicy with just the right amount of crunch from the breading. The wings are great just as they are but they're better with some ranch dipping sauce (I'm a ranch kinda guy lol). The sweet potato fries have that nice balance between a crunchy outside with a soft inside, sprinkled with salt. The breading on their jumbo onion rings actually sticks to the onion itself and doesn't fall off or disintegrate the minute you bite into it. The ranch sauce is savory, it complements the other textures and flavors well. The overall vibe I get from this place is uplifting but relaxed. They have multiple TVs that're usually playing sports. The floor plan is open and organized. Plenty of room to walk around without feeling like you have to squeeze yourself between chairs. Clean, neat, and orderly. The prices aren't that bad for what you get. It's a little more expensive than your typical restaurant but I also ordered 20 boneless wings, two premium sides, and had a tall Blue Moon but the price is well worth what you're getting. The food tastes AUTHENTIC, like everything they have is made in house. None of it tastes like it comes premade in a bag or a can and they just heat it up before serving. It's what you'd expect in a restaurant like this. If you're in the Destin/Niceville/Crestview area you NEED to come here and get their boneless wings.
