Let's just start by saying I'll never be back to this location again. More budget put into the decor than the customer service. Saw milkshakes being served that were half way full (I know they don't come like that at other Ruby's locations) so as much as I wanted to get their new peaches and cream Shake, I passed out of fear of getting served half a shake I would pay full price for. Had to ask for straws for drinks. Had to ask for plates for our over cooked onion rings. Had to ask if there were any dipping sauces available for said onion rings only to be told they pretty much only have dressings. Huh?! Tried ordering the Impossible Burger (pretty much the whole reason we go to Ruby's) only to be told by my waiter they don't carry it anymore because it's $200/lb... I called the Oceanside location to see if they still had it and found out they do. The Coke I ordered lacked carbonation so it was more like drinking syrup. Did I mention the wait time was ridiculous when there was plenty of patio seating on a beautiful day. Don't let the decor fool you; I should have just went to The Oceanside location where the customer service is great as is the food. read more

The service was terrible. The hostess was just rude and didn't really make my husband and I feel like we wanted to be there. She sat us down and first thing we noticed was the table being very dirty and sticky, I got I think it was syrup on my arm. We waited to order for about 30 minutes. Attentive Friendly Service from Beginning to End and the Cobb Hamburger was tasty with fresh toppings and the buns are a good quality. I was choosing between a burger or the Cobb salad and this burger gave me both! Fries were served in a cone shaped accessory and were a 10! 2019: We had Chad as our server and we've never had such bad service at any Ruby's Diner anywhere. It took over 6 minutes to get an iced tea, lemonade, and 3 kids waters and that was only AFTER we asked for them again. Food took over 25 minutes for 2 adult meals and 3 kids meals. We were never asked if things were okay or if we needed anything. 2 other tables had to ask for water from the same server.we finally told the manager who was polite and gave us a free shake. Awesome place to eat!!! It's the prettiest Ruby's I've ever seen too! Even though it was packed, the hostess was extremely professional and she worked the guest sheet like she's been doing it all her life. They told us 40 minute wait but it didn't seem like it was that long at all. Our waitress was awesome too. I think her name was Gia; I was so busy trying to keep my grandchildren calm. I have always loved Ruby's. A couple of years ago I bought 2 ($50) gift cards at Costco. I used one of them and tried last week to use the remaining card and was told they no longer accept the gift card. I am so disappointed that they did not honor the card. I am out the money I paid and I was under the impression that as long as the business was operating, I would be able to use the card. I will not be returning to Ruby's. Worst service received at the Outlet Ruby's Diner. Watched 3 tables that got sat after us all receive their food and leave. It took them 15 mins just to greet us. I can understand COVID as a reason things are slower but when you see everyone else getting service and you not getting it, then that's a problem. Love this location, right around the corner and easy access. Place was slammed and wanted to give a thumbs up to the team working this holiday. Food was great, Rotka helped us out with a wrong french fry order. Some entitled guy was throwing a fit about dressing and she helped us immediately after and wasn't shaken a bit!! Coming from the restaurant industry ourselves we took notice of the situation and commended her among ourselves for plugging right thru it. Be nice to your restaurant staff, if you have never worked in the industry you should definitely just be quiet and appreciate your hot food. We arrived just before noon four ladies and one 2 year old. We found the prefect table on the patio and placed our order. A grilled cheese/fries for the two year old. One patti melt, one cheese burger, chicken salad and calamari. The kid got lucky with the grilled cheese but the burgers were not up to Ruby's reputation of years ago in Newport Beach. Tasteless and smelly. The salad was good and the calamari was ok more like fish sticks. The service was ok nothing extra. Luis was our server once and I ordered a Half/Half (half sandwich and half salad). I've been here at least a dozen times. The food is solid, location excellent, and ambiance inspiring. But I'm so fed up I'm writing a negative review. The last three times I've been here the service is so slow it's excruciating. It's been 15 minutes since I was seated and no one has come to take an order from us (and restaurant is only half full). Last time they were packed and eventually my family left while I waited 20 min just to wait for the bill. I ate here on my short visit. There aren't many places to choose from to eat in the outlet and since Panera Bread is pretty much the same as Corner Bakery, Ruby's appealed to my group more. Honestly, I wish I could give this place a zero star.. On the KIDS menu for the meals it states "6.99" But when we got the bill it said "7.99" For both i and my friend. So when we asked the waitress katherine she said it's because the kids menu was for the kids under 12.. I and my friend both 12 .. She took off the two dollars. I told then couple (that had a daughter) behind me because they were also having problems with the food. I think the place needs a little more training. 20 minutes wait and the hostesses left numerous clean tables open for quite awhile. We finally were seated at a table that needed to be wiped down. My shake was delivered to the wrong table so the wait for a new one took a long time. Our food came after neighboring tables who ordered well after us and was also delivered to the wrong table initially. Burger ordered medium was quite overcooked. Water never refilled. Was there today, Easter, and the food wasn't up to Ruby's standards but the worst part was when paying it took about 10 minutes before the server returned and said their system had crashed and they were waiting for it to come back up. Breakfast was delicious, but our service was horrible. The server was completely an order taker and didn't care much about the service. I don't leave many reviews but the experience was so negative, I was compelled to leave one. Only saving grace for this place was the food came out fast. The wait time for just staff service was horrendous. No one looks at you for you to catch their attention. Waited forever, finally went to ask the lady in front who seats guests and she was no help, just walked by us, not seeing her call for assistance. We see other servers come to other tables and then turn away not heading anywhere near us so we didn't know if our area had anybody covering. The worst was when a couple who just walked in had service right away. By this time we were definitely annoyed, we came as a family, three kids, and still no service to even get us water. Big dissapointment! After offering a promotion for new 2020 grads, when initially calling to order it they say no restrictions but to order 15 min in advance. So then I called 15 min before for dinner and the mgr on a Sun says offer is only good on Mondays. Poor customer service at ft his location, go to another location where you are welcomed. read more

We stopped in after attending Cars and Coffee. The staff was very quick to seat us and get our drink order. Very friendly and the food was amazing! Facility was very nice and clean and the bathrooms were very modern and well kept. This place deserves better reviews. My family and some friends came to eat lunch on a Sunday afternoon, so it was somewhat busy. Still, our service was wonderful. The staff would come and check to see if everything was good before, after, and during our meal. I ordered the BLTA (a BLT with avocado) and it was delicious!
