So I really like this place This is a cafeteria style fast food place with a throwback interior that made me think of burger chef (how's that for a deep cut?) They specialize in American food, but mainly hotdogs and Coney dogs The fries were incredibly bland. It lost a star due to that. Because it might be the best coney dog I've had in a restaurant. And I live in Michigan the home of the coney dog. They serve what we would call a flint style coney dog only it's far more flavorful. I wish I had ordered two. Great menu, reasonably priced. They were reasonably fast in the drive through. This is the Summit Street location. That's the good part. I haven't been here in a while and to my surprise, they changed the coney sauce. The coney style flavor has been heavily diluted with beans. The meaty coney sauce (think Detroit style) is gone. The food wasn't up to par as it usually is. While we usually go to the venue on Summit Street, this time we went to Glendale Avenue. Food was not very good. Hot dogs were not fresh, and onion rings appeared to have been reheated. On a good note, the servers were pleasant, friendly and attentive. read more

Oooh, a Rudy's close to home! I was tagging along on a Saturday with my sister, who had to visit her chiropractor in Ohio, when we drove by this Rudy's. It was only 10 a.m. but I had got my paycheck and told her I was treating her to breakfast after she was done getting cracked. She was sure they weren't open this early and only had hot dogs but I promised her she'd find something to like. As for me, I knew I wanted a Chicago dog! If you've every seen a Rudy's you know most look like they were stuck in a time warp...1974 comes to mind. The one on Alexis is near a DQ; this one is in a waterfront area across from some townhouses and businesses. You'd swear there were no places to get a quick meal. You'd be wrong. The menu is large. Not only breakfast sandwiches but also hot dogs, hamburgers, dinners and desserts as well as beverages. This one also has beer! My sister liked her sandwich but I loved my Chicago dog. Fresh tomatoes and relish and onions and mustard and celery salt...yum! And a very tasty dog to boot! We sat looking at the townhouses and tried to figure out what the flowers were growing there. Too early for hostas...we still couldn't make up our minds what they were! As long as I've got the change, I'll be tagging along the next time she has an appointment because a Chicago dog hits the spot on a Saturday morning! read more

This is such a cool little place-hot dog joint in Point Place... look a bit more though and they also serve breakfast! This is definitely diner food so don't expect a fancy menu but you can get a good eggs and bacon with toast for almost nothing! You order at the counter ala cafeteria style. This place has felt like home for years. It's just what you think it would be. You should go there for the hotdogs, and get them with chili on top. If you are fortunate there will be a blonde woman at the register and if its her...you will know! She is vocal, and friendly, and she remembers her regulars. She is as much Rudy's and the hotdogs themselves. My grandmother and great grandmother loved this place and until her death at 98 my great grandma would choose Rudy's over any other option. The best hot dog in town. The place is cafeteria style, pushing a tray along the rails as you place the order to the cook, but don't let that deter you -it only means you get your food quicker. Good spot out of the way! Clean and friendly service! We were visiting out of town and was pleasantly pleased.

This is by far the worst restaurant I have been to. I went inside and got 2 hot dogs and a bacon cheeseburger and I was stunned when I watched the woman set my hot dog onto the nasty counter with crumbs from other food sitting on it and she set my hot dog right down. No plate not in a bun nothing. And my hot dogs were very undercooked. Before I left I had also been able to watch a man handle hot dogs with buns without gloves. Very unsanitary. So after that I was sort of expecting the burger to be better but I had another thing coming. My burger was not better in the slightest. When I took a bite it was like I could taste the bacon, but the rest was just mush it didn't even taste like a real burger. My sister also got french toast and it was not even done all the way. She cut into it and it looked watery. This was the most horrid experience I've had and I have eaten better mcdonald's food than this. Every drink my family had was way watered down.
