Ruk Mea is the only Thai restaurant I've been to in the states that I can actually say has better Thai food than I have experienced in Thailand itself. The servings are large and a very good value. The detailed and authentic flavors from spicy, to sweet are a feast for your taste buds. Ruk Mea is owned by 2 Thai sisters and their Thai style hospitality is refreshing in American restaurants. Best Thai food we have ever had. Nice spicy hot food. I don't think we will ever visit Ikea again without a trip to this place as we stay far. There is plenty of parking. I came in with wife and a toddler at around 6 pm. Place was kind of empty. Only one other family had a dine-in while we were there. Price is also very reasonable. Great value for money based on the different restaurants I have visited. Service was good and prompt. We ordered chicken pepper and drunken noodles. Both were very good. read more

I stumbled onto this place while searching for gluten free take out. We have pretty much given up on Chinese takeout because we couldn't find a GF friendly place. The owner/chef here is very familiar with food allergies, celiac, vegan issues etc and they take the time to make sure the food is prepared correctly. The counter/pick up service seems a bit disorganized the older woman at the register also takes care of the dining room and just sort of takes her time wandering around. I was skeptical because this place is a newish strip mall and we were the only people dining at 7PM on a Friday. However the food was really good especially the Pad Tai. They don't have a Liquor License but made a great Tai Ice Tea . I'd definitely come back. read more

I have loved Thai food for a long time. Just didn't have one nearby. Ruk Mae showed up and now finally great Thai food close to me. Food is excellent, I highly recommend eating there as well, staff is very nice and easy to talk. It was near the holidays and they gave us a free dessert! Our eye doctor recommended this place for their pad Thai. We were greeted by a wonderful, kind woman who let us sample the tastiest, crunchiest crab rangoons that were light and delicious. The Pad Thai was sweet and peanutty. Orange chicken had a nice crunch with a delicious orange glaze. I don't know what they did to the steamed rice, but boy oh boy was it good. If I could give this place negative stars I would. First off, the food really wasn't that wonderful, I particularly didn't enjoy it but if it was just for the lack of taste in the food I wouldn't have written this review. The real reason I'm writing this is this: I ordered a take-out order of about $37. I picked it up, signed the slip for $37. A few days later I checked my bank out online as I normally do to see that Ruk Mae had charged me $44, wondering where the $7 had come from I called the restaurant asking if there was any fees that I didn't know about. The woman replied no and I asked her why my bill was $7 higher than it was supposed to be. She said she didn't have the original receipt, but did see the bill and that someone put in a $7 tip (which I didn't give). However, because she didn't have the original receipt she had to call the bookkeeper to see what the original slip said and she would call me back. I gave them about a week with no call back. So, I had to contest the charge through my bank, but I only contested the $7 rather than being an a** and contesting the whole thing for the trouble they gave me. It's only $7 but the point is is that someone tried to steal from me at this restaurant (I'm wondering how many other people have they tried to add on money to after the fact and never noticed) and, for that, I will never eat anywhere near this place again. read more

I love this place! The people are awesome and good is terrific. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is it is a little pricey.

We go about twice a month here. Country Tom Yum soup is nicely flavored with a a nice kick (outstanding if you have a cold!) Drunken noodles came out hot and fresh. The staff are so friendly - if you want more veggies, they'll make sure you have more veggies. Definitely happy that Ruk Mae is near my work! read more

The owners previously ran Siam House in Quincy center. Wife and I used to be at Siam house once a week. Genuine bummer when they closed. Ruk Mae opened after a couple years and although it's 30 minutes away we still make it there monthly or so. The best. Beef pepper dish extra spicy forgetaboutit. Veggie fried rice and sesame chicken. Chicken pad thai and chicken basil. Unbelievable. Sometimes non seafood Thai dishes still have a fishy taste due to the oyster/fish sauce commonly used. Not the case here. Everything's fresh and delicious. Ling is the owner and cook and the nicest woman you'd care to meet. Always greets us with warmth. I'm getting excited now and probably going there tonight. This is the best Thai food I've ever had! The food was very fresh and reheated it was just as good! I met the owner and she was very friendly and nice. I definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone. Even if you think you don't like Thai food you'll find something that you like. People always think all Thai food is very spicy but it's not the case with this place. They can prepare the meals just the way u like it, very spicy, mild or no spice at all. Deliciously fresh Thai food. The pad Thai was outstanding with perfectly textured rice noodles and superb balance of tamarind in the sauce. Chicken satay was well seasoned but still tender and juicy. Although not traditionally Thai, we tried the crab Rangoon which ended up being the best I've had. Light and flaky while not overstuffed unlike the usual Chinese american variety. I've had their food before and it's just okay. I decided to just order wings tonight. So I called first and was told that they were medium sized wings. I figured I would order two orders, because they could be small. It's a matter of perception.. I picked it up and the bag felt extremely light. In my mind I'm saying there's no way there's 10 pieces of chicken in this box. Well it was and they were the size of my pinky finger. I decided to at least try one wing.. They were horrible and didn't taste like garlic wings at all! Not what I'm used too. I paid almost 14.00 for that. I went back in and explained my case.. They offered a refund and was really nice about it. But then they asked for the sauce back too. So I went to my car and went Back in to give them the sauce. Now the attitude is shows up. She said she will refund it this time. But not next time because it was my fault and now the food is going to waste. News flash, there won't be a next time! My money almost went to waste! So it's my fault that your food is gross and you are extremely over priced? Not too mention someone is working in the kitchen with a medical mask on.
