Service was very slow. It took about an hour to get our food. Upon being seated, a waiter dropped dishes under our table and flung a knife at my niece. There was no apology or effort to see if anyone was hurt or stained. There was water dripping on us through the ceiling the entire time we were there. The food was great! The ambiance was good, nice view, cute decorations. Bathrooms were tiny and dirty and there were flies in the stalls. There was no parking because the small lot was full. They had a shuttle that took us to a separate parking lot to park. The valets were the best employees on the site. Generally, I would probably just order to go next time. It took us over two hours to eat and get the check, 45 minutes of which did not include any refills of our drinks or server coming by at all. This is an absolutely amazing restaurant. They have so many unique dishes and drinks, plus amazing atmosphere! We loved everything we had! We got the Dominican ribs, soy and sugar salmon, and Thai curry cod. They were all SO flavorful and amazingly delicious. WOW! All I can say is wow. Rarely do I say a meal is worth the exorbitant prices, but the food was DELICIOUS. I got the Grenada chicken and....YUM!!!! We also split the Key Lime Pie, which was topped with heavy cream and had a graham cracker crust. I rarely have key lime pie out of Florida, and this was a rare exception. Totally worth it. I can't believe a place on the water that just doesn't serve fried seafood. Add to the fact that the food was good adds another reason to go. The place is tucked away and they do offer valet parking which makes it easily accessible. The location on the water is the bomb on a nice day. The inside bar is inviting but clearly, the place to be is overlooking the water. I had the house Cesar salad with jerk chicken. The Ceasar dressing was on point maybe the salad was overdressed but it was so good. We also had the duck empanada which was one tasty combo, I might have totally missed tasting any duck but whatever else they added was great. Even the ice tea was over the top maybe Republic of tea? I know, I know it's the Hamptons and covid and all and prices are through the roof but I thought this place offered great value for a lunch. It's hard to find an eatery that is decent on the water, never mind 4 stars but Rumba nailed it for me. I was pleasantly surprised when I checked in on Yelp that Rumba was offering me a 5% discount. Great location and food! We went for brunch during the off-peak season and had our pick of seats. As a vegetarian, options were limited, but that's expected when near beaches. That's fine, but I didn't appreciate getting judged by the waitress for ordering a sandwich without the meat. Yes, I understand it's weird to non-vegetarians, but that's normal for vegetarians. And as a waitress, you should be aware of your facial expressions and body language when someone orders something that might not be "normal" to you so you don't come off as rude to someones dietary restrictions. I had to also try to ignore the fact that there were little pieces of chicken in our fries... Not to mention, we felt a bit rushed as it was getting busy so they were trying to flip tables and get us in and out. Other than that, great little spot for some decent food with a good view. We showed up over Labor Day Weekend on a Saturday night and only ended up waiting about 40 mins for a table for three. There's also a limit on the # of parking available, so we did pull over to wait (hazard's on) for a spot to open up. In the meantime, one of us popped in to put our names down (it was on the early side, around 6pm). Despite the early hour, the place was pretty packed. We stood and then later sat at the bar and I LOVED the mango Chile mezcal margaritas. We started with duck empanada's (yum) and the green curry Atlantic cod is very very delicious. Some of the best food we had while in the Hamptons! We were a big group and sat in a nice quiet spot by the water (though not great for those at the table who had a view of the parking lot instead). The food was absolutely delicious, as were the drinks (though not strong at all). The service was definitely lacking for us but I'm sure partially due to where we were seated). The ribs were probably the best thing we ordered, following by some mind of pimento cheese dip. The crab cakes were also very good and very fresh. Love Rumba and love how great the take-out tacos travel! It's perfect that they provide the option of grilled or fried fish/shrimp. The appetizer ribs are great for sharing. Meat just falls off the bone; tho sometimes they are a bit fatty so beware if that's not your thing! Great spot for chips & tacos on the way to the Hamptons! We stopped by for lunch, and there's plenty of indoor & outdoor seating. Chips were fairly fresh and good amount of guac and pimento. The atmosphere here is very happy and super noisy, even when less than half full. I had to remove my hearing aids. The staff are outstanding. The bar tender clearly loves her work and has bottomless energy and smiles! No draft beer. The food varied from incredibly delicious coconut huge shrimp to overpriced disappointing salad with boring jerk chicken. I like the valet parking because their parking lot is quite tiny. For those not put off by the very loud bouncing noise off all the reflective surfaces, this restaurant offers one of the best bars and wonderful views in the Hamptons, Not cheap, but well worth returning to! I came to visit the Hamptons for the first time, and we came across this place for brunch. Everything, from the food, the location and view, and the service was fantastic! On arrival, two friendly car valets greet us and helped us park our cars in the lot down by the water. They were very courteous and professional. Once we arrived, we were seated at a bar area overlooking the water. The view here is absolutely gorgeous! Our server was so friendly and welcoming and shared some of her favorites! Based on her recommendations, we started off with the green curry mussels with grilled bread, which was a phenomenal appetizer! There were so many options to choose from for brunch that we ended up ordering multiple things. I started off with the California breakfast taco, which was amazing - filled with fresh eggs, cheese, avocado, arugula, and corn salsa. The brunch burger was absolutely amazing - topped with guac, egg, bacon, hollandaise sauce, and came with delicious fries. We were so full for the rest of the day. As we approached the dock we called to have our order brought out like they told us. After 10 min of attempting to call and getting the busy signal, we gave up and had to go inside. I waited inside for another 10 minutes (they forgot to put in the drink order), and then we were finally on our way. After cruising to a spot on the boat, we opened the bag only to find one of our orders missing with a kids cheeseburger in its place. Luckily, the Duck Empanadas were amazing! I definitely recommend them, delivering on taste, texture, and uniqueness. The Trench Town Burger and the Tuna Burger were mediocre. Nothing special to write home about here, no unique flavors that stood out to us. We were able to get the missing entree refunded (after another 10 minutes of calling) so no issue there. read more

Rumba is one of the few places in the Hamptons that has both an amazing water view AND delicious food. Our family was so impressed with the quality of the food and the service. We scarfed down the Mahi dish (which included platains, avocado salad, and a delicious sauce), the green curry cod, and the soy and sugar cane salmon. We basically licked the plates clean. The restaurant is also kid friendly with a great kids menu and fun crafts to play with. Be sure to get a reservation as this place is busy! Always a hot spot in Hampton Bays. I recommend going during the week to avoid the crowds on the weekends. Tonight we decided to sit and eat at the bar. Our waitress/bartender Sarah was excellent at her craft. W started off the evening with their signature drink (Rum punch inthe mason jar). This drink is always a bit and very popular at Rumba. We had the double dip and seared ahi tuna for appetizers. Both were so delicious and the tuna, seared to perfection! For dinner we also had the crab salad and the crab cake. With Orlando's cafe closing, we were forced to find a new go to restaurant in the hamptons. This is it. It's not perfectly ideal due to the limited parking(valet), and the busyness(it gets really busy), but the food was on point at a reasonable price. If it's raining, its also going to be more busy because there are less seats for them to use that are outdoor. In any case, we had the island burger, the fish taco and the shrimp boat and all 3 were really great. I was honestly surprised how good the island burger was and I would have to be convinced not to get that everytime. The fish taco was also well balanced with excellent crunch; same goes for the shrimp boat. Ask to get the remoulade sauce on the side. The only food item that I was disappointed by was the mashed potatoes but they also have plantains which were well fried. Probably skip the mashed potatoes and go for the plantains. The regular fries were only okay as well. There is some parking down the road about 2 blocks if the lot is filled and you dont want to take the shuttle. I am having an elopement ceremony in Cutchogue and wanted Rumba to off site cater. I inquired and listed date and location in inquiry. I was contacted by Craig on August 23, 2023 about setting up a call to discuss, I immediately responded and didn't hear back from anyone. I had to send 3 emails to even get a call back. Today some lady called me and was uninterested in trying to accommodate me. She said they don't go past 10 miles yet told me how much servers were, it's as if she was deciding on the spot to accommodate me. I go to RHUM in Patchogue and love there but from now on will never return to any of the establishments. I lost out on other catering service availabilities by waiting from Rumba to tell me they were happy to discuss packages to then changing their mind when on the phone. Terrible service read more
