Best experience in a Salon I have had in a long time! Rumi was great! Very knowledgeable and patient with all of my questions. She gave me options and there was no pressure just solutions on making my hair the way I want it. I came in with long heavy extensions and grown out blonde. Rumi completely transformed my hair. She added a heavy blonde highlight took out my old extensions and replaced them with extensions that were a better color match for my hair. I have been getting hair extensions for over 7 years now and had been using I-tips. But since my Sister moved out of State and wasn't coming back often enough to keep doing my hair, it was time to find a new stylist. Lucky for me, my little Sister found Rumi on IG and referred me to her. I was hesitant to switch to weft extensions, but went into my consultation with Rumi and she assured me I would be much happier with the wefts and that they would be better for my hair. Upon meeting her, I knew she would be my new hair girl. Rumi has a very kind vibe, she's sweet and honest and her gentle energy just immediately left me feeling assured she would take good care of my hair. Hair is so important to a lot of us, for me, it's almost like my identity, LOL! Rumi color matched me, which was the most perfect color match, and then I came in the following week for my install. Her salon is located within the Sola Salon studios in a business complex. It's a lovely suite with clean aesthetic and a calm, inviting cozy space. I arrived to my appointment a little nervous about getting wefts. As soon as Rumi finished taking out my I-tips she put a weft up to my hair to show me how the color would blend and I knew I had made the right decision to go to her. She's meticulous with her weft installs and extremely gentle. I never felt any kind of discomfort at all. When she was done, my hair looked amazing! Best it's probably ever looked! The wefts make my hair look so thick and they feel very secure in my hair. I am definitely a new weft convert! I barely feel them and they just are just so much better looking than my I-tips ever were. I am never going back to I-tips. She is my new hair girl and I won't go to anyone else. I can't believe how terrible of an experience I had with this person. I came in an about 2 and a half weeks ago to get a balayage it took Rumi about 3 hours and at the end she charged me $400+ in total .. for a balayage.. pretty insane. She works in the sola salon suites so that's probably why she overcharges on everything because if you want to go in and be charged for every little product she uses and then be guilted into paying for it then go to her because she will definitely try to do that to you. At the end of my first appointment my hair looked decent but it was definitely not what I asked her for and I think she knew that. She didn't talk the whole time, made me feel super uncomfortable wasn't even nice or friendly as it was my first time meeting her and at the end she told me she was sorry and that she was tired and came back from a trip.. ok that's understandable but you know from the pictures I showed you you did not give me what I wanted for my hair. A few days went by and I spoke to my mother about it and she noticed how my roots were still super dark and she did not give me a right root smudge and there was no dimension in my hair as I wanted and thick blotchy marks of dark color throughout my hair. I asked Rumi if I could come back and get more low lights through my hair and if she could fix what she did so we made another appointment and this is about 2 and a half weeks later. On the day of my appointment I come in with my mom and Rumi just stands there says hi and doesn't say anything else when I walk in SHE IS NOT FRIENDLY WHATSOEVER, and then me and my mom both sit down super uncomfortable and Rumi asks with no expression on her face so what do you want to do with your hair today? You don't know? With the texts I sent you I thought you knew what I wanted. My mother then was explaining to her what she did wrong and Rumi tried to put it on me that it was my fault I didn't use the right shampoo and conditioner for my hair and it already stripped the color. We also told her what I wanted with my hair now and she still did not give me what I wanted and still tried to charge me $50 for a blow dry after that I guess she originally charges $60 to blow dry your hair??? And then we said that's absurd because she was fixing my hair and then she had the audacity to say that my mom and I were giving her attitude. At the end of the day this was just such a sad experience. She is rude, unfriendly, and can't take any criticism. I've been getting my hair done blonde for over 10 years and just moved to the area finding someone new and there is something that Rumi obviously doesn't know that she tries to pretend like she knows. I always liked my hair but never loved it, so I never returned to the same stylist. Then I met Rumi. Every time Rumi does my hair, I am in LOVE with it. She always, somehow, manages to get my hair exactly how I want it and I love the way she styles it at the end.
