    Veggie Benedict
    Hope V.

Found this cute breakfast place in Durango. Wow. One of their specialties is the potato pancakes. It comes with most of their breakfast entrees. I had the veggie Benedict which was oh so good! Best I've ever had! Service was great. Very friendly and attentive.

Hit this place up on the way out of town. We had to wait a half hour due to this place being popular, but we had a large group of 7. Once we sat down though, they were super fast handling all of our orders and requests! I really enjoyed my Truffle Scramble. I like how they make it so easy to personalize their scrambles. I added ham, mushrooms and avocado to mine for slight additional fees. My husband enjoyed his steak and eggs. We ordered their special chorizo bread pudding entree and a shareable because we couldn't resist that savory and sweet option! I highly recommend the vanilla chai latte. One of the best ones I've ever enjoyed! My friends ordered that too once they heard me order mine and tried mine. The ambiance is cute with the varied toasters hanging on the walls. As a Star Wars fan, I was glad they included one with the Millennium Falcon!

A local favorite! Visiting Durango every once in a while we usually stick to restaurants within walking distance of main street but during our last visit, a worker in a local store asked if we'd ever been to Rupert's because they had the best chicken fried steak and banana nut French toast - so that's exactly what we did and we'll always go back! The restaurant is near the edge of town, tucked away. It's small, so it seems to fill up quickly but the wait wasn't too bad. We had the best server! He was happy, friendly and very busy as he was juggling lots of tables but didn't miss a beat with refills, checkins and answers to all my questions. But don't take my word for it, try it for yourself - plus, here's a couple photos that speak for themselves...

We went twice while in Durango and both times were delicious. The jalapeño bacon is so good! Eggs Benedict were great.

    Southwest Benedict

Deliciousness! I had the Southwest Benedict. The eggs were softly poached to perfection. They kindly asked if that preparation would be acceptable. Hubby had the Huevos Rancheros and added pulled pork. Both dishes were packed with flavor. The pulled pork on both was so moist. I read they are known for their potato pancakes and they have a right to be. The service was great. Coffee and waters were kept filled and they checked on us to make sure we were happy with the dishes. We sat outside with our two dogs. It's not a picturesque patio as some outdoor patios are, but we were glad to be able to have our dogs with us. We will definitely return.

    Classic French Toast

I came here with a group of 4 others during the peak busy hours for breakfast. Although there was limited space they were highly accommodating, and managed to find seating for us. I ordered the French toast, which wasn't too sweet (just how I like it). The menu was expansive, with many vegetarian options. Parking here is a challenge, so be sure to come early.

MiL and husband says the corn fritter with the southwest eggs Benedict has a corn fritter topped with pulled pork, poached egg, and hatch green chile salsa is amazing/exceptional. I had the build your own scramble with pancakes. Really OMG good. Much better than Oscar's. Cannot say enough about how good the food is here. Service is fast and friendly, excellent. And the ambiance is unique. Toasters on the wall of all different types from hello kitty to Darth Vader. Highly recommend!

It's very cute little breakfast/bunch place with fresh ingredients and good looking bread. The food all looked nicely made. They have a lot of old toasters on walls as decoration. Super cute!

Great spot for breakfast or brunch! We stopped here around 9:30 and it wasn't super full. We got sat pretty quickly but it filled up fast. The inside has some cute decoration but it's actually a pretty small space. The food was great - I liked the Benedict and the potato pies that came with it.

We started with the Bavarian pretzel, which was served with beer cheese and mustard. It was delicious and fresh! I then had the southwestern burger, which is always a favorite of mine because of the green chilis. The burgers are always cooked nicely (I order medium) and I was able to substitute a side salad, which was easily one of the best side salads I've ever had at a brewery. We are doing dry January, so no beers this time, but had a lovely hop water that they brew there and even left with a growler full. Highly recommend Steamworks for an authentic Durango experience or if you're just trying to catch a game or hangout with friends. It definitely has fun, local brewery vibes. We will definitely be back!

There are a lot of breweries to choose from in Durango, and during our family vacation we tried…read morequite a few of them. One of our favorites was Steamworks Brewery in downtown Durango. The location was perfect for us because we were able to easily walk there from our hotel. We were lucky enough to get outdoor seating, which made the experience even better. It was great to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful Durango weather, and people watch while having dinner. We decided to do a beer flight so we could sample a variety of their beers before committing to a full pint. It was a great way to try different styles, and we each ended up finding a favorite. Everything we tried was really good. My husband liked their Buffalo wings and whiskey burger, I enjoyed the seared tuna bowl, and our kids liked their pizza. It is definitely a busy and popular spot, especially during peak vacation times, so I would recommend putting your name in early and expecting there could be a wait. In our opinion it was worth it. Steamworks had a great casual vibe that worked well for both families and adults wanting to enjoy a brewery experience. The downtown location adds to the charm, and it definitely felt like one of those must visit spots while in Durango.

The previous owner has retired and the new owner has not missed a beat and has taken the great spot to the next level. Awesome Rye Boulevardier and Hamachi Crudo at the bar night one - great service from Tony; Back at the bar the next night and had their amazing and tender Calamari, NY Strip, Truffled Potatoes and Sautéed Mushrooms + Onions. All top notch and the steak was perfectly cooked. Once again, great service, this time by Justin! What goes better with a steak than Pio Cesare Barolo (not on the list....yet!) Very nice atmosphere and vibe; elegant yet casual. Love it!

Apparently, due to the slower evenings earlier in the summer, they packed up early. Makes sense. Next night (Friday) we arrived around 6 PM, sans-RSVP, and were quickly seated in one of the front window tables. Started off with the tomato bisque soup with wood-fired crostini for dipping ($8). The flavor of the crostini from the wood was sooo good. Can I have a 1/2 lb bag of those to go? For my entree, I had the Chilean Sea Bass special ($60) which was topped with a creamy spinachesque sauce and featured sides of carrots-squash medley and what I can only describe as a fancy potatoes au gratin with two more crostinis to lap up the delicousness. Drink: Pint of Pilsner Urquell ($7). Shout out to our server *Roxy* who is a rock star in dealing with the rare scumbag of Durango who purposely blew a massive cloud of vape smoke at a couple dining outside while she was checking on them, only to come back and spit on her when she told Señor Asshat to knock it off. Way to go, Roxy! Monster meal, unexpected entertainment. Massive hit: Seasons of Durango!
