If I can give this place 0 stars I would. My boyfriend needed a basic manicure done when we found this place after eating next door. Never would I thought someone can mess up a simple manicure but my bf came out with cuts on all his cuticles. They didn't even soak his fingers which is a basic in a manicure, is it not? His nails aren't even cut right and why would they use a drill for his nail beds if he's not getting gel put on? His fingers are all basically swollen now and we're worried they're infected. I have been going to this place for more than 13 years and I swear that Ken is the best I've ever had for a hairdresser. You know when it's a good haircut and color when you don't have to worry about the cut for more than 2 months. The cut is always on point and no uneven lengths. The cut may be a little pricey but we'll worth it. I recently had my hair colored for the first time (blondes have more fun!!) and it's been a month and I still have a lot of compliments. Bought a Groupon for a waxing at KenField's salon, and called number provided; made appointment and the lady directed me to this salon. I tired to redeem it before service but she said to wait. She waxed me and then said the Groupon was for the wrong business. She (and the other lady working) claimed no knowledge of it. I showed them the KenFIeld name on it, her phone number, etc. She refused and said I had to pay $50. I also had to pay a fee since I used credit card so the total was $52. I asked why she didn't say something when I called and mentioned the Groupon; she said I didn't mention it and the owner was on vacation and I could "use it next time." It was a very uncomfortable position to be in. This is bait and switch and very unfortunate. I cannot believe my experience; this has never happened to me before. It's not a good look. Groupon has been notified and will be investigating. I advise anyone else looking for waxing to proceed with caution until whatever is going on gets resolved. read more

Can anyone tell me what the name means? lol. I meant to ask the owner but chickened out. Speaking of whom, he seemed a nice guy and ran a very, very, very clean shop. I'd come back for this reason; just to admire the shiny floor tiles! We must have come in at a down time because he was the only person there. He called a friend over from next door to work on my nails as the girl who usually does nails was not in yet. I had a good time chatting with this retired Vietnamese nail salon guy and his wife was friendly too (she was waiting for me to be done so he can work on her nails too :) I can only give an average rating because I don't have another point of reference to compare the work with. Stopped by while on a trip in Vegas while a friend got a massage next door. I asked for a deluxe ($35) pedicure with gel. They charged an extra $20 for gel. I feel like that is really high for simply adding gel instead of regular polish. Otherwise, the scrub was a little too dry and the massage was weak compared to other places. They get the three stars solely on the fact that they did a good job painting my toes and they look good. read more

If there is anything that I am meticulous about, it's haircuts and colors; however, I have no doubts when it comes to Kenfield and his haircutting skills. My hair has only been touched by him since middle school (and I'm 22 now). I've gone through a number of phases with my hair style, whether it was side swept bangs, multiple layers, long layers, no layers, highlights (you name it!) and I have always been pleased. Whether you want to dye your hair a completely different color, chop off six inches of hair, or change your appearances completely, Kenfield is your guy! Even after lightening my dark hair several shades, it remained healthy and soft. I always walk out of his salon feeling 10/10. Aside from his great customer service, his salon is also very clean and offers a variety of services! You could even get your nails done right after a haircut or color! I went in to get a full set, $80 later, it's been 6 days and the nails are lifting, cracking, cloudy. I expected acrylic and nail tech chose to do powder dip. Within a day, they started lifting. I've been coming to Kenfield ever since I was 15 years old. I'm 23 now, and I don't trust anyone else with my hair. He does wonderful work for a reasonable price. I noticed a review before about an awful experience a customer had a little over a week ago, claiming he messed up her hair, and her shirt. Being a long time customer of Ken's I asked about this situation. I would soon find out his side of the story if any of you care to know both sides of the coin. She had been to his salon once before. This time, during her visit she informed Ken that someone had messed up her hair, and she needed him to fix it with the box color she had in hand. During her experience she never once complained about burning from the color. I myself have just bleached my hair & I understand how much a burn can hurt, but if the color was burning her & dripped down her neck & ruined her shirt, then why didn't she say anything in the beginning? Coloring your hair involves chemicals, of course it will damage your shirt if it gets to it, but that's a ridiculous allegation when the capes that are draped over us cover the part of her shirt that's messed up. Ken wants to show the video surveillance of what really went down. Don't let that one bad review color your opinion of Kenfield. Come in, try him. You won't be disappointed. read more

There are a lot of people who can cut hair out there. But Kenfield KNOWS damn well how to cut AND style your hair into a beautiful masterpiece. SERIOUSLY. I save myself for his salon! The first time I came to Rus2Our was in Spring 2009. I walked in and saw his facilities. Simple, neat, clean. The receptionist at the front desk was helpful, and to the point. Told me the prices for everything and I was a bit taken back, because I'm used to a $14-$40 cut from.. say.. SuperCuts, MasterCuts, Cut & Color Experts, Too Hotties, Euphoria, A Wild Hair, etc. I'd tried nearly every chain/beauty salon you could possibly think of. You would think a $55 haircut would scare me away, but I decided I'd risk it. I had been sporting the asymmetrical haircut for almost half a year now... and it started to get to that awkward length where it was too long to style, and too short to put up... so I wanted very badly to CHOP it off to a barely-over-the-nape-of-my-neck cut. I was looking to change my hair dramatically. After a little bit of deliberation I decided WHY NOT! I'd been everywhere else, let's see if this guy is worth it. I sat down, looked through a couple of his styling books, and decided on a cross between two very short hairstyles. He literally glanced at them for 2 seconds each, said "OKAY" and started prepping me for my cut! I was SCARED because he was so quick to start. I thought he may not have taken a good look at the styles, but... 30 minutes later, I'm looking in the mirror at a completely AWESOME new me. He uses such a unique technique for cutting hair. Oh, and my boyfriend had just suffered the worst fade from an inexperienced "hairstylist", the week before, and Kenfield fixed and blended his fade PERFECTLY. It even grew out beautifully, too! (no awkard "Alfalfa" hairs during the growing out process) I actually ended up coloring my hair with Kenfield also! This was the very first time I'd ever colored my hair, home or professionally. And, you know... I am so glad that I walked in that day. I naturally have very dark brown/black hair, and I went for a fiery RED. I've been going to his salon since, and now he's got a great full-service spa open too! He just recently did a chemical peel treatment on me, and my skin is looking much more even in tone and texture, and my pores are even smaller! He's seriously an A+ aesthetician. The first one was my ex-boyfriend's mother (who I wasn't comfortable going back to for obvious reasons) and the other one who had been cutting my hair for a couple of years had gotten really lazy and started to do a terrible job, which finally made me upset enough to never go back. At first glance, the salon isn't much from the outside. But inside it is very clean and tastefully decorated. I asked if they did walk-ins, was immediately sat down, and attended to by Kenfield. I was a bit worried at first, I had only briefly told him what I was looking for and he immediately began chopping away at my hair so quickly I was wondering if he even knew what he was doing with those scissors or whether or not he even heard what I had asked for. When I first left I did not think that it was really worth the $55 I had paid for it, but I decided to head home and restyle it just to make sure... and my god did it look amazing! He had done everything I had asked for and it looked super nice. Usually after a haircut I fix the bangs myself because I am super picky about how they look, but I didn't even have to touch anything this time because I felt that it looked great as it was. My hair now has a ton of volume and is nicely layered. The only downsides I would have to say are that I didn't get the awesome salon hair wash :( and that he didn't really style it before I left (which is not a big deal to me at all). I chose a few pictures off the Internet all with bangs. I love them but was scared to go for it. I told him and instantly he told me no bangs for you, your forehead is too small. I appreciated the honesty. He tells me long bangs will be better. So I told him I want something different but keep the length and he could do whatever he wanted. I was little hesitate when he started. He is fast with the scissors, but don't be scared. Kenfield is amazing and knows what he is doing! He gave me some great advice too:) I got quiet towards the end, but only because I get sleepy when people mess with my hair. At the end I was so surprised and it looked great! Husband and I came in for for mani pedis, quoted $50 each. Told pedi came with scrub, callous removal and massage. Hubby got the woman nail technician and I got the man. For the pedi I got a one minute massage while my husband got 15 minutes. When I commented the male technician began rubbing my chin bone since my nails were wet. it was painful & I told him to stop. When he painted my finger nails he put a coat of gel on top before the polish dried. The gel later cracked and polish rubbed of onto my clothes. I went back three days later just to have him remove polish and gel. Husband got a great mani pedi. Just stay away from the male nail technician. read more

Most salons aren't open on Sundays, and most of the really good stylists won't work on that day either. Well, lucky for me that Kenfield happens to be a really, REALLY GOOD stylist who loves his job enough to want to work 7 days a week. I'm always waiting the last minute before scheduling a color and cut, and usually, I always end up with whomever might be available on the day I need it. And of course, I'm always never completely satisfied with the final result...until today when I took a chance trying Kenfield at Rus 2 Our Salon (yes, he's the owner too)! Kenfield must have a naturally intuitive sense of what will look good on your face because this is the first time in years that a hair stylist managed to give me what I like without needing a detailed explanation or a photograph. I just basically told him to touch up my faded, red highlights and clean up my straggly, greying hair. The only words I had for him when it was all done was, "WOWWW, thank you!" His techniques are (snip-snip-snip-voila!) efficient and impressively effective! My hair felt soooo light and silky smooth afterward, and I was amazed at how cleanly he had cut the ends of my hair. As for my color, the red highlights are shiny again and blend fantastically into my now youthfully, darkened locks. :) Kenfield's talents are worth every dollar, and what he charges is VERY reasonable for the quality of his work. Despite the poor economy and everybody looking for cheap bargains for everything, I think Kenfield deserves to earn enough to pay his rent as well as make a small, personal profit. He's not cheap, but he's also not outrageously pricey. I have medium-length, wavy hair and the total cost for a color, wash, shampoo, blow dry,cut, and style was $160 (if only cut and style, then $45 on shorter hair). I've paid over $200 for a color and cut and regretted wasting my money on over-hyped stylists. Kenfield is the real deal, and so long as his magical scissors & color services are within my budget (hair maintenance can be an expensive luxury), I'll be his client for life! My friend and I were in Vegas just to hang out for the weekend and my friend decided she wanted to get pampered; we walked in off the street in search of a place that could provide services for a deep facial and a deluxe pedicure. We were pleasantly surprised to find a full service salon/spa. We were greeted warmly and welcomed by each employee. My friend got a pedi and a 90 minute facial meanwhile I had the opportunity to sit and observe Kensfield perform magic on various clients hair. I am very selective and I will only allow my stylist back home to touch my hair, however, Kensfield amazed me and he slowly but surely gained my trust and vote of approval. He's very professional and knows his craft. I witnessed precision hair cuts and color masterpieces. This guy is a hair wizard with the scissors! I've not seen anything like him. He is amazing. My hair was ruined last night at LOOK style located in Summerlin. This man was referred to me by my sister. DIAMOND IN THE RUFF. He fixed the cut... but the damage and horrible blend of fried highlights are something that will take time to fix. I bought repair at home products by him. Make sure the bleach your stylist is using is not cheap. At first I was kind of skeptical about them touching my hair because most of the feedback/reviews were from women; however, I took the chance and I am very impressed. Pam is the stylist who took care of me. She is very precise and takes her time . She made me feel less worried about leaving the salon displeased because she was very confident in styling my hair.
