I absolutely love coming to MOD. I discovered it a year ago as I wanted my nails done in between work hours and have never been let down. Jenny always does my service and I love how attentive she is with her work. She is so sweet and is very gentle (I've been snipped during cuticle work with other nail techs and am traumatized). I was consistently going to Suki. She is talented and I thought professional...until she wasn't. Suki wasn't there so I decided to try the women that sits next to her. She talked the whole time. When she did my acrylic fill she placed it on THICK at the cuticle and the gel paint pooled at the tips of my nails. Also she only shaped my left hand the way I liked because I asked her to. She did not shape the right hand like I wanted. Her talking was so excessive that it was hard to tell her anything because I was trying to understand her and not be rude. Also, I was under a time crunch for work. Her work bothered me greatly because of the amount of money spent. I went back in a few days later to her fix it. She was going to...she then suggested that Suki fixes them for me. After they spoke in their language, which was very uncomfortable, Suki tells me she would fix my nails her coworker messed for $30. Of course I walked away and went to another nail shop. They agreed my nails were way too thick and the shape was different on each hand. They gladly corrected the issues and they now look beautiful again. GO TO MOD AT YOUR RISK....there is no negotiating with them. If they make a mistake that is clear they will not do the right thing and fix it. They will make you pay for their mistakes. read more

I went here twice for a pedi + fill on my nails and both times were a bad experience. My nails have actually been falling completely off of my fingers (2 and 3 fingers both times so 5 total now) And of course I am charged $10 for a nail that falls off so an extra $50 for nails that are not done properly due to their poor work. I was also overcharged for a BASIC pedi because I asked for cat eye so that was an extra $20 plus an extra $10 because it happens to be gel plus an extra $10 to remove my old polish on my toes and I was never told any of this would be an upcharge until I went to pay. The cat eye was not even done properly either. She used the magnet too harshly so there is no blend just a sharp line in the center. My nails are a whole other story I don't even feel like explaining but she made them completely crooked and I had to ask her to please redo them and I felt rude for asking. I've been looking for a nail person I trust so I've been hopping around a lot lately but this has truly been the most miserable experience I've ever had with getting my nails done. read more

This is about my 3rd or 4th time here now and i think I'm ready to leave a review. :) Jenny and her crew are THE BEST! My original nail tech that I've been faithful to for the last few years from another nail salon moved to California and I've been looking for someone to replace her for a year and a half now and I have finally found my new place, MOD Nails. I love coming here because I never feel rushed and they're always able to take me in whenever I call. I still try to call at least a day in advance but I have also done same day appointments and they were always able to accommodate me. I especially love when I come in and there's enough nail techs to do my hand and feet at the same time because it cuts my nail appointment time in half and I'm able to get out quicker. After reading reviews I went to this place because my normal nail tech was out of town. I ended up getting Suki who had really good reviews on here but she did a horrible job! First, she just glued around the edges of my acrylics that were starting to lift rather than filing them off and redoing them like my normal tech does. Even after I told her one of my acrylics was almost completely falling off she still wanted to glue it back down. She kept saying "trust me". I insisted that she take it off - how are you going to just glue down the edges when underneath all the way to the end of my nail isn't connected to the acrylic anymore? You're just going to create all of this space so I'll get nail fungus!! My nails are shaped well but the polish on every single one of my nails is bumpy. I pointed it out to her but she didn't seem to really care very much about it. She just kept putting more of the matte top coat on like it would make it better. My cuticles look so bad! I just got this done on Thursday! I paid $75 for this and I'm definitely not happy! read more

When asked Suki to shave down to avoid grow out to get caught on small things, she stated it would damage my nail bed. This is my second time getting a gel mani at MOD Nails. I wasn't a huge fan of my last go-round...my whole appointment just felt rushed (I had the male technician.) But, for a last minute walk-in on a Sunday night, MOD was one of the only open locations nearby. TIP: MOD Nails will tell you that their gel manicure is $30. But, if you hate spending $30 on gel like I do, they do have a small wheel of $25 color you can choose from. ASK. FOR. DAISY. The male nail tech took a woman who came in about 10 minutes after I started my appointment and she had already paid and was driving away by the time I was finished with mine. Those extra 10-15 minutes? To me, that's the difference to detail. One turnoff was that the salon owner cut the music at about 4:20pm. The salon didn't officially close until 5pm, and it was kinda awkward to sit in relative silence for 30 minutes while she was on her hands and needs cleaning the floorboards and doing the laundry around us. However, I can't fault them for wanting to get out on time or keeping their location clean. I'll keep you posted on how this polish lasts at the end of two weeks, but Daisy did a great job shaping my nails, cleaning up my cuticles and carefully applying the polish all the way down to the nail bed and to each nail edge...and the hand massage at the end wasn't bad either! read more

So, it's been 5 days since I've gotten my manicure and I am disappointed. Everything was all good and great, but I noticed the acrylic and gel breaking where my original breaks are..which means the method didnt work. On top of that, the acrylic is lifting. I don't usually get acrylic, but I do know they're supposed to stay on longer than 5 days. Price was great, but you get what you pay for right? I've had some surprisingly bad pedicures. (As in my feet would end up very much cut up after the fact) Now I am cautious. Mod nails was clean, friendly, and I got a great pedicure with callus remover, and my feet did not come out bleeding! yay! I loved the great open, airy feel to the place, and it truly was clean. I came on a Saturday afternoon and was able to get a gel pedicure immediately. I get there and tell the nail technician (Suki) that I want the ballerina shape and she argues with me and tells me it's coffine. They are two different shapes, ballerina has a wider tip than coffin. I let it go and let her continue with my nails and she gives me square. Not what I wanted at all. I went to pay and she charges me $10 extra so my nails that I didn't even like were now $40. I asked her why and wad told it was because of the length and shape of my nails... that only short full set was $30. They're not even that long. I was on the Southwest side of town which is far from where my friend and I live but we were running errands and we both needed to get manicures. So, we decided to pop into MOD nails, they were relatively nice but I kinda knew halfway through that she was doing a "half-assed" job. I had to keep telling her to fix the nails and she would scoff and fix it. It took an extra 45 minutes longer than projected and I had to go to pick up my son from school... my nails still looked bad. Since I had to leave, I called later on and told the manager what happened. She told me they would fix it for free, which is great but I have been stacked busy since havent been able to go to the other side of town. I'm glad they were willing to fix it but it should not have happened to begin with, especially when I had her fix one hand multiple times. I know the nail tech was Lani but other than that info, I just wouldnt recommend this place altogether. read more

Wow! I recently moved to Las Vegas, and what a relief it was to stumble upon Mod Nails right away. I made an appointment day of for a gel pedicure and an acrylic, full set, gel mani. They got me in, right on schedule, and immediately were very warm and welcoming. Kim, who did my mani, was FANTASTIC! I was in a bit of a hurry, and she whipped out the most fantastic set of acrylics WITH hand painted "watercolor" roses in under an hour. She promised they had anything I could dream of to paint on, glue on, or stick on my nails. They seriously can do anything, and you can tell they really enjoy their work. Well, unfortunately I wanted this experience to be awesome, and it wasn't. I went in to get a pedicure and acrylic refill. The pedicure was awesome, chair was great, very relaxing. The acrylic refill took a very long time, but I was OK with it bc they came out looking very pretty. I did ask for rhinestones and instead I got offered shaped crystals, which aren't my flavor, but the person who helped me didn't seem to understand much English and was very sweet, so I just let it be. But, unfortunately 3 of my nails started lifting significantly in a little over a week so I went back to get them fixed. (Leaving lifted nails can cause fungus or infection) So the manager (I think) fixed my nails for free and got creative with the rhinestone that was attached to a working nail. Here's why they got 2 stars. The color I picked was too light to cover the remnants of the old polish, so she said she was going to put on a darker color. Before I knew it she was painting on a pink bubble gum color that I personally found highschoolish. I was a bit annoyed she didnt ask if I liked it before starting, but again, its just nails so I was like, fine, whatever. However, when I left she told me it would be $10 for a polish change. This is something I have a problem with. I requested a polish change bc you had to redo 3 of my nails, bc of your inexperienced person. If I didnt change the polish, they would have looked wierd. So, when she asked if I wanted to change the color I said ya sure thats fine. If she was going to charge me $10 to repaint my nails I would have declined. Anyway, I just moved here and am looking for a place with great customer care and values and haven't found one yet. They seem to be very nice, but might be slim on the technique side. The problem with that is, if its not at least paired with understanding customer service, theyre not going to get repeat clients, which might be why both times I went in I was shocked to find it very empty. The place is really nice, it has great potential, but I was overall disappointed and annoyed I had to pay to get what I wanted in the first place. read more

If I could rate this place a 0, I would. The service was terrible. I came in wanting acrylic removal since I had three broken nails, manicure, and a nail color change on my toes. When Jenni was starting on my toes, she painted them with the thinnest white layer and before I knew it, she put on a top coat and it was too late. A few days later, a few toenails were chipped. Usually I have my pedi perfect for 2-3 weeks. Now let's get to the WORST part. As mentioned earlier, I wanted acrylic removal and a manicure. When she started, she began filing the acrylic nails and filing my broken nails into coffin shape (the shape of the acrylics I had when I walked in). Mind you, my real nails were short so I didn't understand what she was doing. Jenni then does a cuticle removal and proceeds to tell me to wash my hands. At this point, MY 7 ACRYLICS ARE STILL ON! I wash my hands, come back, and here's the WORST part, she proceeds to attempt to paint all 10 fingers, with 3 broken nails and 7 old acrylics. I confront her about it and she adds acrylic nails to the 3 broken nails to try and scam me $15, $5 per nail. The next day, I see that the nails started to crack with air bubbles. I called Jenni and she says that she's ONLY fixing the 3 nails that she's responsible for. I proceeded to tell her that the nail polish was cracking and that happens with white and she tells me that she can't color change it unless I pay her $10. Overall worst experience ever. Don't waste your money here, she loves to scam. read more

I do not recommend this place at all, its been less than a week and I already lost a nail and the others are wiggly. On top of that they scammed me out of my money. I asked for a basic pedicure and they acted like they understood me and made me pay for the most expensive one. I paid it because I felt bad. But its just plain wrong. I'm so bummed that this place didn't live up the yelp reviews! Got my nails done on super bowl Sunday and that day the gel polish got ruined and one nail cracked in half! So I had to come back the next day to get them fixed. it's been 2 weeks and I have already had to paint them because the bottom of the nails have chipped. The tops have also got cracks and broke. I really don't understand how they are so bad. I'm giving 2 stars because the ladies who work there are extremely kind and the place is very pretty inside.
