I've been a fan of Russian River for years and was excited to find out that they have a new location that is much larger and cleaner than the downtown Santa Rosa one. This new location is HUGE, with ample seating, modern-rustic environment (pretend like you're sitting in an Abercrombie store), awesome looking patio, and plenty of EV chargers. For food, all we ordered are a side Caesar salad and Steak Frites. They were both decent, but we didn't come here for the food. Pliny the Elder is where it's at. I also tried most of their other beers but came away a bit disappointed, with the exception being Blind Pig. Come here, grab two cases of Pliny (about $5 per bottle), and leave happy. read more

We came here last in early 2020 and had a blast with our 3 kids and enjoyed the somewhat-versatile plant based menu options. Last night, a Sunday afternoon, we were surprised to see the menu had shrunk in size considerably and our plant-based options were extremely limited. No hummus for the one appetizer we could have enjoyed. Really, out of hummus?? Literally the only thing we could eat was the veggie burger. All five of us (3 kids under 11). How disappointing that RRBC doesn't deem it necessary to have a diverse menu and at least be somewhat equitable in the year 2021. We have to be told about the (engineered) drought, to save water, as the napkin holder on our table told us...but what is the number #1 cause of waterway pollution and ocean dead zones? Species extinction, Ocean acidification, Amazon deforestation, Waterway pollution....these things aren't of concern obviously to RRBC, as is evidenced by their heavy carnist menu that funds animal agriculture. The vibe was also off with the workers, as they seemed short-staffed, and there wasn't even fish for fish and chips! It's sad and disappointing when a local successful company with such a profitable bottom line doesn't see priority in adhering to the needs of their plant-based community in any way that would warrant us wanting to return. And we are locals! $$$ The carnist menu at jaded toad at least accommodates for *some plantbased options. Come on owners, please get with the times, support life on our planet, and compassion, not death, pollution and carcinogens. And you're missing the most basic items on top of it. They closed early. The posted closing time was 10 p.m. and we arrived at 8:50 p.m. and were told that the kitchen was closed and that last call for beer was in ten minutes. Employees appeared to gather at the bar at 9:45 p.m. as we left and were drinking and watching the football game. Wonder if they were still on the clock? We close to customers, but party on our employer's dime. Badly run business. Want to cut half or most of your staff loose and operate with skeleton crew until your posted closing time? Sure. Nothing quite like a post-paddling Pliny. We spent the day kayaking the Russian River and then went straight for the source of everyone's favorite flavah. The restaurant is a huge, airy high-ceilinged joint with a bar up front and a lounge area sporting a fireplace. It strikes a nice balance of classy yet informal. Tours of the brewery are available until 5. And you can even play tipsy Pliny cornhole in the back. If you're that kind of guy lol. We expected the food from the folks who invented Pliny to be good, but not THIS good. The salmon cakes were light fluffy perfection with just the right amount of crunch. The sliders were juicy little flavor bites. Fries with aioli hit the spot. But the surprise standout was the impeccable zucchini salad. Beautiful paper thin slices of zucchini atop arugula, ricotta and candied almond slices might not sound like heaven in your mouth, but I swear it is. Misted with just enough of some amazingly subtle lemony dressing, it left all of us making mental notes about how to recreate it at home. The grand finale of course was the beer flight. 10 West Coast flavors. All of them great... except for Mind Circus, lol. (Which actually does taste like a bad trip.) Blind Pig and Tempo Change were my favorites. Next to Pliny. (Duh.) Pro tips: Kid friendly. Pooch friendly! And yes you can stockpile all the Pliny your arms can carry, ya little hoarder. This review is mostly on the brewery, the bar and the tasting room. Russian River Brewery is legendary in the Bay Area. I used to drive to their Santa Rosa location and waited in line for hours for the annual tasting of Pliny the Younger. This new location in Windsor is a few miles further north but much nicer! The self guided tour to see the brand new brewing facility and the open top fermentation process was a treat. The staff in the tasting room were knowledgeable and really nice to talk to, and the beers were all excellent as expected. read more

This place lacks customer service. For some reason, the employees and management think that you owe them for coming in. There appears to be a genuine lack of appreciation for customers. The hostess that was working there on Sat at 2pm was really rude and made it seemed like it was a privilege like she was even speaking to me. I was actually told by multiple people to go the the one downtown because even if it you had to wait. The customer we service was much better. We left because the hostess made us feel like we were "entitled" to be there. When we got downtown, the customer service was OUTSTANDING and worth the wait. If you're driving far, don't come here because you will just be treated like crap and disappointed. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE! Go downtown, at least they will appreciate you came in. The perfect Sunday funday always consist of swinging by russian river for a good bite and brew. Ideally we love the downtown location particularly because of the more pub like atmosphere and bomb food that comes with it. We have been to the windsor location multiple times, enjoying that big beautiful doggy friendly patio and more upscale food selection. During our last visit it was our first time back since the Covid-19 social distancing protocols implicated. I must say good job russian river they are sure following all state and public health guidelines to ensure their guest safety. We were a group of four, thankfully they had one area for us at the second bar close to patio with doors open and a nice breeze flowing thru. Unfortunately they only had a few tables outside that were able to be served food and were unavailable for our party so this was going to do. After being seated by the host and waiting a few minutes, we had noticed the bartenders had not greeted us, we had been seated and they had noticed the host placed us there as they came by grabbing dishes but not hello, welcome, or how are you doing today, I was just looking for a menu. After about 6 minutes later we had a nice gentleman come from the first bar over and finally help us out. Upon making are food decisions the awesome bartender was letting us know about how they just got BBQ sauce! A big big plus because we love BBQ sauce and its a improvement they needed to give it a more pub feel, along with the wings and SAVAGE sauce lastly with ranch. Its like are prays have been answered! Cool spot! 4 stars instead of 5 just because the outdoor patio area has so much untapped potential! The big grass area is awesome and a cool place to picnic, there's just no shade which could be tough on a hot day (It was 85 the day we were there). Beautiful property just needs more personality! They could add some cool tents, cornhole, a live music stage, plant some trees etc. But I think a lot of this comes with the fact that they just opened within the last year. We love coming to this place when we're up in the bay. The selection of beers is always great. There's a fun atmosphere around, you won't find better sours either, and the staff are super friendly. Visited this brewery because we LOVE the Santa Rosa location so much. This brewery is A LOT bigger, brand new, and shiny! I'm rating this place the same as Santa Rosa but here are my opinions of this location. While this location is a lot bigger than Santa Rosa, they appear to have less food options like there is no option for pizza. I was EXTREMELY disappointed that my 18 flight sampler came out and was missing 4 samples. So it's only a 14 flight sampler. I was super disappointed so if you want a full 18 flight sampler, go to Santa Rosa. If you want pizza, go to Santa Rosa. However, if you want to experience this place for the first time and do the self guided tour, come to this location in Windsor. Also, they do not limit how much Pliny or Blind Pig you buy so if you are from out of town and want to get a good stash of Pliny or Blind Pig to take home, come to Windsor!!! Their gift store is a lot bigger and it's awesome that they do not limit how much you can buy. You can get 6 packs of Pliny as well instead of a full 12 pack. Overall, I'd probably prefer the Santa Rosa location over this one for the 18 flight sampler and pizza (and LOTS of free parking), but I'd come to Windsor if I'm more about getting lots of Pliny or Blind Pig to take home. Or if you have a big group and don't want to wait as long. I recommend you going on Yelp to get on the waitlist so you don't have to wait as long for a table but if you have a long wait, go do the self guided tour. Also you can get beer from the bar and go outside and sit down. My wife and I and our two boys had a little extra time as we were passing through the Santa Rosa area so we stopped and visited the Windsor location on our way to the Santa Rosa airport. It was a great choice. Beers were obviously great (but don't worry, plenty of other beverage options too). The food was great. Lots of stuff to do and see to keep the entire family occupied. Great outdoor space. And the staff is awesome. We had a very special request and the General Manager, Daniel Lowe, bent over backwards to accommodate. We will definitely visit again! read more

The Russian River Brewery (Windsor, CA) was a very clean, modern production/tasting room, but reeked of sterility with no discernible character, making it a rather pedestrian experience. As one of the great craft breweries in America, reality did not align with expectations. Of note, The California inspired beer flight was exceptional, as expected; however, the total experience was lacking for reasons noted below. The food is best describes as a gastrointestinal carbohydrate-bomb delivered by excessively-infused vegetable oil that will sufficiently lubricate the entirety of the alimentary canal thus allowing, I presume, for unrestricted safe passage of what ever was ingested. Give the less than average gastronomic experience, it did not help the that we had an uppity waitress, who exuded gift-from-god emanations, which were aimed at accentuating how luck we were to have her service, the best I can give the collective experience is a C. read more

Our company wanted to do something special to wrap up the old year and celebrate 2020, so we rented the Tasting Room at the new Russian River Brewing in Windsor. What a blast. We spent 3 hours enjoying great beer, good wine, awesome appetizers... a lot of awesome appetizers. The staff was so attentive to our group. Lisa is the event coordinator and she had every answer to any of our needs throughout the evening. Our bartender was Erin and he was extremely well informed about the multiple beers he was sharing. We owned the room and he made every one welcome, even the wine drinkers. We chose a pub trivia game and asked the staff at RRB to join in. At the end of the evening we were offered to bring home the leftovers, and there were many, so we could drop them off at a local shelter. Such a great end to a wonderful event. Well I didn't eat there so I can't say anything about it, but my beer tasting experience was awesome! The property was beautiful and the decor had a nice industrial and modern touch. For the beers, I'm not usually an IPA person, but I enjoyed some of their IPA selections. And I loved the Belgian flight, especially the sours! I can't say enough good about this place. We did the Yelp call ahead seating and only waited like 10 minutes for a table. On a busy Saturday Night. Our bartender/Server, Minny, was awesome. She even took us to the gift shop after it had closed to let us buy some things to take home. And that is before I get to the food! We had the wings, the cheesy bacon fries, and both were excellent. We were there a weekday night and while it was clean and appropriately decorated the ambience, workers' cold attitudes, confusing table signs and food were bad. We went near the bar to sit at a table and every table had a "reserved" sign on it. Hardly anyone was there and every table was reserved? We just sat anyway. A worker took my husband's drink order but not mine. My husband went to tour the facility and the entire time he was gone I was ignored. I did see a group of 10 workers gathered around the cooking area chatting with one another. When my husband came back, way later, a bartender ran over and asked if we want food. We ordered and my food was a 2 out of 10. It tasted like the whole sandwich was frozen and heated up in the microwave. It was fried shrimp with breading, not fresh. My husband said his burger was meh. I was still uncomfortable since the workers would not talk to me or look me in the eye. Jessica R was one of the following - having a bad day, at the end of a long shift and super tired, busy in various parts of the restaurant, or ready to quit. It took a long time to figure out who our server actually was. When I asked one of the staff if this was a place where we order from a central location, she revealed that she was our server and would be taking care of us. Well... what was taking so long? A simple greeting and and "I'll be right back with water while you are looking at the menu" would have been fantastic. We didn't get it. Once we ordered, the food came out promptly and as ordered. But... as my burger was getting cold, my flight of beers had been on the bar getting warm. For so long that I went to the bar myself to retrieve them. Again, our server was completely MIA. About 5 min later (15 after the food had been delivered) she came to check on us. But at this point, I really felt neglected. The quality of the food was typical for bar food. Not nearly as good when compared to Stone Brewing CO's restaurant in SoCal. When other places in this area are just killing it with their customer service, I came here expecting better. I was not impressed by this place. Service is horrible. Went with a bunch of buddies and ordered wings. The people seating nearby also got wings. The difference was that their portions were much bigger than ours. I expect to get the same amount if I'm going to be be paying same price. When we needed something, it would take for ever to get our servers attention. I've never been a fan of the food over at the Russian river in sr so I don't know why I expected anything different at this place. Oh well. Super familiar with RR since the early 2000's. We haven't been there for more than a year (either locations). Upon our visit this afternoon RR in Windsor seemed to get things in order as far as navigating their guests through the door today. Hubby and I had LOW expectation but when we saw Daniel, ex manager from Stone Brewery in Napa we were psyched and knew instantly that we will be back here again and again! Beer is amazing. They have a line for drinks on the outside if you're in the beer garden. Drinking here as a vegan is great but not so much their food. They have the hummus with veggies and naan bread and their entree, the veggie burger. The patty is vegan but the dressing and bun are not. The waitress switched it out to sourdough and bbq sauce (dollar extra for the sauce). Specify no butter on the sourdough. Don't get me wrong--I love their beers. But what is the point of having a patio if you can't eat outside or drink out of glasses? Such a nice property and the new brewery looks great, but it's a bit too fancy for my taste. The food is good--I had the burger which was tasty, and my wife had the salmon cakes. We split the chopped salad. Everything tasted great. I just wish this place was a bit more rustic. I know that's not what they were going for, but the vibe in the original location is what put them on the map. I just don't think I'll ever be able to get over not having Russian river pizza with my Russian river beer. However, they still get four stars because of their great happy hour. The beer here is out of this world good and it's great you can get it cheaper after work! I recommended the blind pig (my personal favorite beer) if you like ipa's and the consecration if you like sours. I'm not usually a sour fan but theirs are the best I've had! The burger with bacon and cheese sauce (a food like substance that I had them put on the side) are surprisingly tasteless; I did like the arugula. The fries are too thick, boring, and cardboard dry. Couldn't eat them and was probably better for it. I'm lying at home with an upset stomach just from the burger. It's really too bad they couldn't have put in some pizza ovens like they have on 4th Street. Outdoor area...5 STARS!!! Russian River Brewery, Windsor Ate at RRB Sunday after a hike at Shiloh Regional park.  I, be been there a couple of times before but never posted about it.  The brewery/ restaurant does not take reservations but you can order a drink and wait in their beer garden.  Uhh BTw- I don't drink beer, they have a limited but decent wine . I ordered Prosecco, great quality. Currently, they have a great system in place due to pandemic.  We were told 45m wait but we only waited 20min.  The drinks helped with passing the time. Food: limited menu due to pandemic your basic hamburger s but high quality products. Hubby ordered the bacon, caramelized onion one was was super yum, I ordered a vegan burger w/ the works, very good.  They used to have fish and chips, but not currently offering that, Daniel said they will be updating menu when things become more normalized. Staff is efficient and nice. Our Server, Daniel was very good and knowledgeable. Take note if you're a beer drinker this is where Pliny is made.. whatev, I go for J Prosecco! It is the Russian River Brewing company in Windsor!! I was so excited to visit this place although I heard a lot of negative things about this location already. First of all, we waited about 40 minutes to get a table. Not too bad compared to some ppl waited for hours to get a table here. Service was horrible at the table! It appears to us that they just hired some young people who don't care for their jobs. We ordered some chicken wings for appetizer, no dipping sauce comes with it. After inquiring, we were told it costs an extra $1 for per dipping sauce. The worst thing is, the waitress didn't care to offer it when we ordered the wings, and we had to only ask twice to have someone bring it to us upon ordering.
