What a gem to stumble upon! I liked it!! I liked it a lot! Super laid back small town feeling. It was authentic. The employees were sweet and genuine the service was efficient! I had the idy Long Island and it was made to complete perfection. The movie experience was great. 10/10 would recommend you find a reason to come out here from wherever you are!

Cutest little movie theatre in this quaint mountain town! Super nice staff that greeted me upon arrival. Great choices of food, alcohol, and snacks. Huge seats and decent size theatre. They offer alot of entertainment to the area: movies, comedy nights, art shows, independent screenings, and more. I came here to see Barbie and the staff were dressed and pink, and there were Barbie-themed cocktails. Super positive energies here. Loves it!

5 stars from me for the Rustic Theatre. How cute is this place? $5 for a weeknight movie? A new release? WHAT?!?! This was my favorite thing about our 5 day stay in Idyllwild (well, tied with meeting Mayor Max). We went on a Monday night and there were less than 10 people in the theater which has very large comfortable seats, is clean, and quite nice. When you think of what a $5 theater would look like, this is not it. We went in the heat of summer and the temperature in the theater was perfect (not too hot and not too cold) but I did see that they had blankets available for the colder nights (a nice touch!). We had fun chatting with Graham and Gail and ordered a bunch of concessions since $5 just did not seem fair and we wanted to support the business - 2 waters, popcorn, junior mints, sour patch kids, a cheeseburger and a garden burger. The food is frozen and Gail heats it up and will even bring it to you at your seat. Given that it was just a frozen patty, my garden burger was quite good and hit the spot. They also have a full bar and you can bring drinks into the theater. If they were showing more than one movie or happened to switch movies while we were in town I definitely would have gone back! Loved this experience so much.

HIDDEN GEM ALERT!?!?! IN a way hidden, because Idyllwild..but at the same time not hidden, its in the heart of town! Gail & Graham - by far such a pleasure! If you come to this theatre, ask for them and they'll give you a wonderful break down of the history & what this theater has to offer. It stole our heart!!! Everything from the food, the decor, the drink selection, the service, the movie(s), the showtimes ALL OF IT. The vibes within this theater are like out of a classic movie. We are so used to those fine dining, luxury, high end theaters....ya know the ones that cost ya a pretty penny. This is far from that, but for some reason A BETTER EXPERIENCE...in my opinion. They stated they were going to have concerts in the summer in the back lot (when we came in APRIL they were currently building/constructing this portion so unfortunately we did not get to see it, experience it..however, more reason to come back. The location is in the cute heart of Idyllwild. It is so welcoming and cozy once inside. What sold us is that we take our pride & joy pup with us everywhere (whom is AKC STAR PUP and CGC ELIGIBLE) they offered to allow us to bring him into the theater with us as long as we sat in the back. Again, our pup is extremely well behaved, goes everywhere with us and has a good sit/down. That just stole our heart. Our pup with us in a movie theater, couldn't ask for more. Overall, such a clean gorgeous spot. We can't wait to come back!!!

Tourists pour in by the bus loads! The attractions are condensed but enjoyable.

I can't say it's the awesome bartenders... the land it's built on or something more magical, but there is a literal 'vibe of humanity' here which I've experienced in VERY few places on this planet. Doesn't hurt that the food is awesome too :) It is infectious - it is good - and it restored my faith in humans more than once when I really needed it. There wasn't a single customer who didn't love her. It didn't take long for me to realize that a lot of people are regulars there and it's not just for the bike riding! lol Loved her honestly and insightful responses to my many questions. The pretzel was HUGE and the kids pizza fed two kids with leftovers! No complaints here.. well maybe just one but I was given a quick fix when I expressed my disappointment when they didn't serve blended drinks. Not to worry the coffee shop does and it's only a few steps away! This place was cute with tables or bar seating available. The bicycle theme was cute but personally I liked the barrel seating the best. There was a tv for sports on the back wall. As long as there's no one else watching, putting in a request for certain sports to be played seemed to be no issue. There's several small tables inside and extra long picnic benches outside. Seating was your choice and there was a window to watch tv but still remain outside. Cute little bar, that I'll definitely be making my way back to for a visit!

A youth baseball team from Casa de Oro Little League ("The Party Animals") appeared to be having a team celebration here, and the situation was completely out of control. There were roughly 30 children, ranging from about 5-11 years old, running throughout the arcade and bar area. Kids were climbing on virtually every game, including the pinball machines, basketball games, skee-ball, baseball games, beer pong tables, and Dance Dance Revolution. They were screaming at the top of their lungs, throwing coasters around, hitting people, and even knocking over drinks at nearby tables. What made the situation worse was the complete lack of supervision. Many parents were outside while the kids ran wild inside, and the few adults who were present did not seem interested in correcting the behavior or intervening at all. I understand that servers and bartenders are not babysitters, and I don't expect them to parent other people's children. However, at some point management should have stepped in. This wasn't normal kid behavior or a little extra noise--it was genuine chaos that was impacting other paying customers trying to enjoy their evening. We've always liked The Hills and have spent a lot of money here over the years, which is why it's so frustrating to write this review. Tonight was easily the worst experience we've ever had here. If management is going to allow large youth sports parties in the future, there needs to be some expectation of supervision and basic respect for other guests. Unfortunately, after tonight, we're seriously reconsidering whether we'll be coming back.
