Celebrated our 6-year anniversary at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, and I can honestly say this was one of the best dining experiences we've ever had. First and foremost, our server, Thomas B, was absolutely exceptional. His attentiveness, professionalism, and overall presence elevated the entire evening. I would go as far as to say he was responsible for at least half of what made this experience so outstanding. He struck the perfect balance between being attentive and giving us space, and every recommendation he made was spot-on. The hostess, Evelyn, also deserves a huge amount of recognition. From the moment we walked in, she made us feel incredibly welcomed. She went above and beyond by decorating our table with rose petals for our anniversary, which was such a thoughtful and memorable touch. I've never experienced that level of care from a hostess before. The food was phenomenal. I ordered the Cowboy Ribeye with steak fries, and my fiancé had the 16 oz ribeye--both were cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. The quality of the steak was just a hair below Wagyu, which says a lot. The seafood we tried was equally impressive. Everything about the meal reflected the high-end nature of the restaurant, and it absolutely delivered on that expectation. I'd also like to give recognition to General Manager Jimmy Rogers. While he wasn't directly overseeing our table, his leadership clearly reflects in the quality of both the staff and the overall experience. Another standout for me personally was the bourbon selection. As someone who appreciates top-shelf bourbon, I was genuinely impressed to find my favorite available here--something I've never encountered at any other restaurant. I haven't been to a Ruth Chris in a while, so me and a friend decided to check out the happy hour. I have to say I was very surprised by the ambiance at the location. It was very dark and really dated. Our waitress was amazing!!! The manager also came over to say hello and was extremely nice and engaging. The food came out super fast, I ordered the burger because I wanted something quick before my appointment. Location is a little hidden, and you can tell that it used to be something else. I dined in here for NYE. I enjoyed the pasta and chicken entree from the prefix menu. I also enjoyed a French 75 cocktail. The individual I enjoyed dinner with ordered the lamb chops. All of the food was pretty good. Including the assortment of bread service. The salad was delicious. I wasn't a huge fan of the pasta. It was not creamy or moist enough for me but this is to be expected since this isn't their specialty. The service was great. I have heard great things about the famous Ruth's Chris Steak House so I thought this place would be a great place to celebrate a steak lover's birthday, but this place fell short for me. I came in November when the weather was cold outside, so I wanted to start out with a soup, and I was recommended the lobster bisque. The soup was overall disappointing. It was overly sweet which was not something I was expecting from a lobster bisque. We also ordered the asparagus and mashed potatoes for our sides. Both sides were extremely average, I expected more from the sides so I was also disappointed. The sides here are family style and are not included when you order a steak which is something that threw me off at first considering a steak itself is pretty pricy itself. Adding on $30 of mediocre sides (granted they are family style to share) to a $65 steak is quite steep. The last part of the meal was the steak. I ordered a ribeye which was the redeeming factor of the meal. The ribeye was cooked perfectly and so tender to the point where it melts in your mouth! Service wise, our waitress was extremely kind and knowledgeable about the menu. I will note that it was busy night and she had multiple tables to cover, so the food and the bill did take a long time to come out which is not her fault. While the steak itself was great, I do think the other dishes paired with the steak were disappointing. Overall, the food was not worth the price. I knew coming into the restaurant that it was fine dining, so I was prepared to splurge, but I do not think my meal was worth the splurge. Because of that, I do not see myself willingly coming back here. I think it would worth it for a steak lover to try their steak (and only the steak) once, but I would not recommend repeat visits here. read more

We were late for our reservation but got seated quickly. Our server was nice and attentive. She knew we were celebrating my birthday by the rose petals that were scattered on the table. Nice touch! Back again! Happy hour at the bar with favorite bartender Roman. It's easy to enjoy dining alone when the service is top-notch, the drinks are deliciously balanced, the steaks are excellent, and the conversation with your server is easy. That sums it up for me. Period. This spot is comfortable. I sat myself at the bar. The food is consistently good. There was a nice music selection playing. Other bar patrons were friendly. What more could I ask for? My husband took me out on a date one day when I told him I've never been to Ruth's Chris Steak House. I've been super into steaks lately, and I was beyond excited to visit. The overall experience was superb, but it was quite pricey. However, we will definitely be back and have more special dates at this place because the food and the service were simply that amazing! One thing to note is that your entrée does NOT come with any sides. You have to order them on your own. This was something different than other steak houses I've been to, but the sides were phenomenal with zero regrets on my end! We had Spicy Shrimp, Lobster Mac & Cheese, Roasted Brussels Sprouts, two different steaks, and cocktails. We knew going in that steaks will be delicious, but the side dishes were surprisingly delicious. The star(s) of the meal for us was Lobster Mac & Cheese and Roasted Brussels Sprouts! Had a terrible experience here for a friend's birthday dinner and I was disappointed because I usually love Ruth's Chris. We experienced a lack of service from the server and the kitchen. It took us an hour to receive our drinks and two hours to receive our food, so we were there a total of 3 hours for a party of 12, and most of us ordered the same items. Our water nor our bread were refilled promptly. When the food finally came out, it was overcooked (steak and lobster mac) or cold (mashed potatoes). For the prices we paid and the length of time we waited, the food could've been much better in taste, temperature, and price. We were also not able to split checks so we the guest of honor had to put everything on her credit card, then we had to divide up the total and taxes and split it that way, very cumbersome. I also feel like the servers don't do their best when they already know an 18% large party gratuity is coming anyway. In my opinion, Ruth's Chris's prices no longer match the quality of the food or the service. I would choose another steakhouse over this one in the future. read more

A very good all around experience. Hadn't been to a Ruth Chris in awhile and was pleasantly surprised. First, the portion sizes are great. My tuna tataki was not only seared perfectly (not overcooked) but also a very healthy portion of tuna. My only complaint was it was slightly too salty. I had some of my daughter's tomato and mozzarella salad, also a nice portion with very good tomatoes (though surprised they were all cherry tomatoes). For a main, I went with the bone-in fillet, a cut you can't get everywhere, also a great size steak and, more importantly, cooked to the right temperature. FOr sides, thought the creamed spinach and Brussels sprouts were both quite good. The asparagus was okay, but skinny stalks. I visited this restaurant on March 18th for a business retirement luncheon. We had a private room for ourselves. The host and servers were pleasant and professional. We had preset menus which made it easier for the servers to take our orders and bring the food out in a timely manner. All entrees were good. The mashed potatoes and the creamed spinach were good but could have used a little more seasoning. I had the salmon. Came here for my Fiancé birthday! I absolutely love this place! I called ahead for a reservation and told them that it was His birthday. On arrival they had placed rose petals all over our table! We decided to go to Ruth Chris for our Thanksgiving meal. We had made reservations about a month in advance to make sure we got a table at 3pm. When we called the day before to make sure it was still good they said they lost the reservation so we had to settle with 11am. It was a little early but we still had a great experience. Three of us ordered the thanksgiving meal while I ordered a steak. I love my steak very rare and they cooked it perfectly. The steak was absolutely fantastic and I recommend everyone to stick with steak. As for the turkey they had, they all said it was pretty cold and the portion size was small with the amount that it had cost. They were very shocked that it was cold when brought to us. Finally the Thanksgiving meal came with a pumpkin cheesecake dessert which was delicious. Overall it tasted great but with the price you pay for the experience it was disappointing to get some food cold. The service was pretty slow but they may have been short staffed like most places. Wednesday, October 21, 2020, late afternoon. I checked into the Hilton Garden Inn/Durham in the late afternoon, and was moderately hungry. Ruth's Chris, literally next door, was just too good to pass up. They opened at 4.30; I arrived about 4.35, and was promptly seated. After perusing the menu for a few minutes, I ordered the Petite Filet Dinner, which includes 2 sides. For sides, I chose Creamed Potatoes and Stuffed Mushrooms. Additionally I ordered a Sazerac. Because I've never had one. The Sazerac came out quickly. I tried to warm up to it, but could not. The mixture of Rye Whiskey, Absinthe, and Bitters smacked too much of Scotch Whiskey to me. I sent it back, requesting instead a Vodka Gimlet. The Gimlet also came up promptly, and was very, very good, made with Tito's Vodka and Rose's Lime Juice. Now, that's the way a VG should taste! Whilst I was sipping the VG, my entrée and sides came out: Petite Filet, Stuffed Mushrooms, Creamed Potatoes, and Rustic Bread with Butter. The Petite Filet first. My waiter, John, warned me that the plate was about 500°! Yikes!! Too hot to handle; I had to use my utensils to arrange it on my plate. Perhaps not 500°, but more in the range of 150°, which would keep the Meat warm for a while without cooking it further. OMG. Death by orgasm! If I've ever had a better Filet Mignon, I don't recall it. I savored it slowly. In between bites of Steak, I nibbled on the Stuffed Mushrooms -- very, very good, and the Creamed Potatoes, which didn't seem right to me, so I sent the Potatoes back, asking for Shoestring Fries instead. They came out in a few minutes and were quite good. The Rustic Bread, with Butter, did not knock my socks off, but it was thoroughly enjoyable. For once in my life I did not gorge myself! I asked about dessert options. There were only a few options; I chose Cheesecake with Ice Cream. And Coffee. Keep my Icewater topped off, In short order John came out with the Cheesecake & Ice Cream, Coffee, and a pitcher of Icewater. I had to wait a few minutes for the Coffee to cool, and then enjoyed the dessert as the trifecta that I sometimes speak of: Two sips of Coffee to prime the palate, then a bite of the Dessert, savor it slowly, then a generous swallow of Icewater, sort of an apology to the palate for assaulting it with such decadence! Lather, rinse, repeat. I was then ready for the check. It's been a while since I've spent $75 on a meal (not including tip), but I have no regrets. It was a wonderful experience, John was most accommodating to the whims of this senior diner, so I take my hat off to him. Plus a generous tip. If you obviously only work for tips, then you bring down the whole restaurant and people like me, who have worked retail without expecting tips, will see this behavior right away and never come back. The food was nice, albeit not quite as warm as I would like my hot dish to be. But the dishes were well cooked and nicely presented. I just feel that a single member of the serving staff can ruin the hard work of all of his colleagues customer-facing and behind the walls of the dining room. And that is a shame.
