It's been a few years and there's one close to my new apartment so thought I would give it another try. This experience was much better than before. The food was great and service was excellent. I really enjoyed my ribeye with truffle crust on it. My gf also enjoyed her salmon and scallop dish. Probably my favorite thing we got was the sweet potato casserole. I would probably go back just for that. I wasn't a huge fan of the creamed spinach, something about the flavor was off to me. I ate dinner here last night and I even forgot to take a before pic of the food, because I couldn't stop eating once I started. The drinks were great too and they serve excellent pours. Every bite was exquisite and our steaks were perfectly cooked. The cheesecake dessert with fresh berries was perfect and not too sweet. One of my favorite steakhouses in South OC with consistent flavor each time. I get to this place maybe once or twice a year. It's always been quit good. I went there recently for a group lunch and it was a bit of a cluster. At a table with 6 people, I ordered the medium rare steak. The person next to me ordered medium. I got the medium and he got the medium rare. Nobody came to check whether we need anything else. My steak was definitely more than medium. The picky eater next to me didn't even eat his steak which was perfect for my taste. Meanwhile I had to wrassle this steak into submission without the slightest concern from the servers. You all have to remember that people may go here for a once in forever treat - and if they get something which is not what they ordered - it's not like they're just going to go there again any time soon to get better next time. Overall I wish they just took the slightest moment to either 1) check the order or 2) check on us to see how things were. Our server Ben B. last night was rude and discriminatory trying to insult us because my husband hadn't been to Ruth's Chris before. We have been to far superior steakhouses but wanted to try this place. The server ruined our date night and we just wanted to leave. Please train servers how to speak to and make customers feel comfortable and wanting to come back. If this is "fine" dining then service should make it feel that way. It has been about two years since my last visit to Ruth's Chris, so my husband I decided to come for our anniversary dinner and it was a great time. Reservation are easily made online. The parking lot is extremely small and limited, but valet is readily available to for a reasonable price. When my husband I arrived, we checked in with the hostess and were promptly sat at our table. The table was decorated with super confetti, which added a cute and personal touch. Our server greeted us and water was brought to the table. We placed our drinks order, which was brought out in a timely manner. We ordered our food sooner after. I decided to go with the chef's choice, which consisted of a 8oz filet mignon and 3 scallops. My husband ordered the ribeye. My husband's steak came out prepared as order, and had no complaints. My filet came out a bit overcooked. I didn't say anything because it wasn't so overcooked that I couldn't eat it. The scallops were actually too spicy for my taste. The menu did not specify any type of spicy seasoning being added to it, so that really took away the enjoyment. Next time I'll be sure to specify my preferences. Our server frequently came by to make sure everything was ok. My biggest complaint would be the extremely hot plates that your food comes served in. They do warn you multiple times that the plates are 500 degrees. Like I get the "coolness" of it, but is that really necessary? I ended up accidentally touching my plate while I was grabbing my fork, and now have a scar as a reminder of my visit at Ruth Chris. Pretty sure the alcohol helped me not feel the pain of the burn. Had an amazing experience at Ruth's Chris in Irvine tonight. Our server David was absolutely on point from start to finish--super attentive without being overbearing, always there right when we needed something, and made the whole dinner feel effortless. You can tell when someone actually takes pride in what they're doing, and David definitely does. Everything came out perfectly timed, and he kept checking in just enough to make sure we were taken care of without interrupting the flow of the meal. The sweet potato casserole is very flavorful and sweet, with a crunch pecan nut topping, reminds you of elevated Thanksgiving. The service has always been good, everyone working here has always been very professional. The inside is very nice with a classier vibe. At certain times Ruth's Chris is very busy, especially on the weekends. We came recently for my grandmothers birthday and we honestly weren't too impressed with the food. The cocktails were okay and the food just wasn't as good as it had been in the past. To be honest, I think I could make a better steak in my cast iron at home. I'm honestly really disappointed to be writing this review, because I've been coming to this Ruth's Chris for years. I've celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays here, it's always been one of my favorite spots. Unfortunately, my last two visits have been progressively worse, and tonight was the final straw. Our food took over 20 minutes longer than expected, and when I asked the manager, the waitress mentioned they were behind due to a few large tables in the back. When our steaks finally arrived, both mine and my wife's, ordered medium, came out extremely rare. They were sent back to be fixed, but when they returned, they looked exactly the same except for a more charred exterior. When I brought this up again, the manager insisted that "this is what medium looks like at Ruth's Chris." He did end up comping the meal, which I appreciated, but by that point the experience was already ruined, we'd been waiting so long I wasn't even hungry anymore. I'm genuinely sad to say this, but after years of dining here, I won't be coming back. This used to be one of my go-to places, but the consistency and service just aren't what they used to be. read more

Valet is a recommended as this parking lot can get crazy, but valet was a quick in and out, great start to a awesome night. We had reservations but didnt seam very crowded and it was just a Monday night. We came for my moms birthday and they had the table decorated ahead of time and everyone greeted her BDay wishes. Very special. KC was our server, and she really went above and beyond. She was really good at knowing what was needed and coming through before asking her. Drinks are well made, while I just went with a Ice tea, my moms Martini seamed to hit hard in a good way and my wife got the blueberry mojito and was still talking about it this morning. A bit odd for her, great to hear. Food was excellent, everything. Steaks came on a sizzling plate cooked perfect. We had some sea food additions that were also very good. My mom had her eye on the "Apple Tart" but didnt see it on the menu, Miss KC checked and yes they had it and it came with a lit candle for her birthday. That dessert was over the top good. I got the chocolate sin cake and it was great, but that tart was pretty special and something to ask about for sure. Lots of servers at every level and they kept a keen eye on our needs. We came here for a belated birthday celebration due to Christmas celebrations last month. We made a reservation on OpenTable and did the normal parking. We were sat and had Arthur as our server. He was very kind, attentive and did joke a bit with us. We were able to get two orders of bread, a glass of Riesling and the 3 for $60 meal deal. For myself, I did the Caesar salad, filet and shrimp with garlic mashed potatoes and I upgraded to the bread pudding for dessert for $5. My boyfriend did the steakhouse salad, stuffed chicken with Brussels sprouts and the classic cheesecake. We also ordered the normal portion of macaroni and cheese with no lobster. All of the food was delicious. The steak was almost buttery and like ground beef in the middle with how easy it was to cut and chew. It was medium rare and one of the better steaks I have had. However, the chicken is a must! It was perfectly cooked and the cheese sauce is too good to describe. The desserts were delicious, I did like the personal size of the cheesecake because all that food is filling! The breading pudding upgrade looked like a normal portion and it had to be brought home. Overall, the energy was nice in here. The staff is more professional. I saw some personality towards regulars and managers stop at regular tables. I believe it's the brandy/sherry but I've also seen that this is why people like it. You'll have to judge it for yourself. Got the bone in ribeye with sides of mac & cheese and potato au gratin next. I love how they cook the steak with just butter and salt and that it comes out on a hot plate. The texture of my steak was a little grainier and wasn't as juicy as previous visits to other locations (even though it was cooked medium-rare properly). I'm not sure if I just had bad luck with the cut that night. Finished the meal with the apple tarte and vanilla ice cream. This was the highlight of the meal. -Service was spectacular. You're pretty much forced to valet your car or venture across the street to the parking structure- unless your parking angels are working overtime! They gave us free hot (very hot, like almost-burned-me-hot) bread and butter. I was starving at this point so it was delicious! The bread was fluffy and the butter melted beautifully. We ordered sizzling crab cakes (not too fishy and just lovely with the lemon butter) and calamari (incredible taste- the sauce it's covered in got lots of praise). We could have ordered our entrees along with our appetizers since Arthur (our server) took a long while to get our food orders. I ordered the sea bass and the rest of my table largely ordered steaks. The wait took a long time as expected but we all had gifts to exchange so that helped time go by a bit more. The restaurant itself was also fairly busy for the time of day. My piece of sea bass was HUGE- the soy ginger sauce I got to pour onto it really enhanced the flavor of the fish and vegetables. I enjoyed every bite and this fish kept me full all day. When we ordered desserts, Arthur took our order, disappeared briefly, and came back to take our orders again. Strange- I would expect a waiter to get our order right the first time? My boss mentioned the service wasn't the best for this caliber of a restaurant and I understand what she means. I recently celebrated my birthday here and this place did not disappoint. There is valet parking at the front but there's also free 2 hour parking in the lot next to it as well. From the moment I entered the restaurant, we were treated well. The service was excellent. It's got a nicer interior like any other nice steakhouse. I ordered the petite steak and shrimp and shared the asparagus, lobster Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. All the food was good and I had plenty of leftovers. We ordered drinks first and as they were being brought to the table our main course orders were taken. My girlfriend and I went with the prix fixe menu options which included soup or salad, a main course, and an individual dessert. She chose the filet mignon and lobster tail, with a salad. I had the ribeye steak and shrimp, with a bowl of French onion soup to start off. There's also bread on the table that was very tasty. After finishing our main course Chris brought out individual cheesecake desserts. We also had 3 members who were celebrating their birthdays so Chris brought them a special creme brulee dessert on the house. Ambiance is upscale steak house. Noise level is a little high but there wasn't an empty table so that is to be expected for a busy Saturday night. Parking in the front lot is valet only, no street parking close by. I came here with my parents for their 30th year anniversary back in June and were treated very kindly - they had set up our table with confetti and also provided a complementary mini dessert at the end. It was fascinating to see that they actually beat their plates to a very high temperature to keep the steak nice and warm - however, I personally didn't like how much butter was on those plates, and my whole family felt a little greasy from that. I am indifferent to how I feel about Ruth's Chris. The service was okay. The restaurant looked upscale and sophisticated. Some of the food was good, but the main entree ribeye left a lot to be desired. We ordered two rare 16-oz Ribeye at $75 each. It was cooked to perfection with a red center. However, both pieces had so much sinew that it was tough to cut and chew. This is sold as a prime ribeye, which you would think would be better in quality. But no, it didn't even have that beef flavor when you eat it. It was a huge disappointment for my father, who was looking forward to having a nice steak dinner at a nice steakhouse. We did not finish the steak because it was so difficult to chew. The Garlic Crust Seabass ($51) was not bad, but it wasn't great. It was relatively small for what it was. Crab Cakes ($29) was small, but it was all crab meat, so I thought it was decent. The Brussel Sprout ($16) was rubbery and overcooked. Honestly, the best part of the meal was the complimentary bread. It's crispy on the outside with a nice pillowy soft center. Part of the reason why I have not been back to Ruth's Chris over the years is due to the high price tag. However, I remembered it to have quality meats that were tender and cooked to perfection. Given that both of our steaks were tough to cut and hard to chew today, I don't recommend Ruth's Chris for their steaks. For $75/lbs, I expect better quality control when the chef selects the meat to purchase/serve. read more

I did notice some of the booths are a bit worn and ripped in certain places. It made it really awkward to slide in. Our waiter came over shortly after and introduced himself and offered waters although another server had brought some to us right when we were seated. I ordered the bone in fillet per our servers recommendation and my husband ordered the cowboy both medium rare. Just a note, the smell that permeates the restaurant is all steak. It'll literally make your mouth water if you're waiting too long. Both our steaks had distinctly different tastes and textures as different cuts should. For sides we ordered the creamed spinach and au gratin. Both were great but very rich. I would've loved a lighter side option but you really can't complain about the taste. Our server Arthur was very attentive and gave me 3 knife options when he saw I was struggling to cut the meat off the bone. The overall steak was so buttery and nicely salted. read more
