$300 down the drain... in this economy?! At a chain restaurant?! Girl, hold my 9oz glass of wine Ruth C charges $30 for a brand that Publix sells for $11 a bottle My friends and I had an 8:15pm reservation and all arrived by 8pm. We didn't get seated until after 9pm. No updates unless we went to the front counter and asked, no apology -- just standing around in our nice outfits taking lobby pictures because what else do you do after ordering 2 rounds of drinks at the bar?! They sat our group of ten at a table meant for eight, so we were basically elbowing each other all night. Service felt scattered with multiple servers, no real guidance or options, and long waits for everything. Our appetizers came out room temp and arrived with the entrées instead of before. The sides (mashed potatoes, creamed spinach) were also lukewarm. We ate it anyway because at that point the night was already dragging. Desserts -- which were supposed to come with our entrées -- took 40+ minutes after we paid. Those were all ordered with our entrees, all the same dessert as well. Still no apology for anything: the seating delay, the cold food, the wait times... nothing. After dessert arrived, I overheard the waiter say you could have ordered a different dessert for $5 extra dollars?! Where was that option at order time bc I would have gladly paid for something else. I haven't been to Ruth's Chris (downtown) in about a decade, and after this experience, I won't be going back. Our whole group left disappointed, tired, and heading straight home instead of grabbing the one drink we'd planned after dinner. Nights like this are exactly why I choose local small businesses over chains. This was not it. Our entire party of 10 left extremely disappointed. None of us live near the restaurant either - this was a middle ground for everyone. So after a disappointing Saturday night out, we all drove 30 mins home in the rain instead of enjoying a drink with eachother nearby after dinner.

    Decorated so nice!

Awww Ruth Chris did it up really lovely for us last night :) Made last minute reservations and noted it was our anniversary. From the minute we entered we were greeted and immediately told Happy Anniversary, then a the night went on were probably told Happy Anniversary about 12 times.... lol! Table was decorated with rose petals and a signed card, server was amazing! Food was delicious! Like literally everything we got was a 10! They definitely know how to make it a special dinner, just wonderful! Also i have never been here during the day where you could see everything! Very pretty!

Stopped by for a birthday burger for happy hour. I ended up getting a quick margarita and a burger to kick off my birthday celebration. As usual the service is always great here. The establishment is a fine dining space perfect for celebrating or formal dinners. My burger was pretty good. Tasty and well made, it was good but not the best. I also ordered crispy calamari which was great. My margarita was the highlight. It was perfectly made and really hit the spot. Normally, I opt for steak here but today was simple. If you really want a great meal come on in for dinner and treat yourself. Ruth's Chris is a well established steak house that delivers great cuts of steak consistently. Stop by San Marco and have a bite. You won't be disappointed. PS This restaurant is located in the double tree hotel. There is valet and self parking available.

We had dinner at Ruth's Chris and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by how amazing the food was. I ordered the 6oz filet with a lobster tail, and the chef deshelled it beautifully. My husband had the 8oz filet, and both steaks were cooked perfectly. We shared the mashed potatoes and the lobster mac and cheese, which was phenomenal. I also started with the French onion soup, and it was delicious. Overall, the food really exceeded my expectations. Service was another highlight. The host was super friendly, and our waitress was amazing, attentive, warm, and kind. My only real hesitation, and the reason for the 4 stars, is the atmosphere. The restaurant itself feels outdated, and being located inside the DoubleTree near the banquet rooms takes away from the upscale dining experience Ruth's Chris is known for. The river view is lovely, but the hotel and restaurant both feel like they've gone downhill over the years. I really hope that if a new riverfront hotel ever comes to the area, Ruth's Chris considers moving into a fresher, more elevated space, because the food and service absolutely deserve that backdrop. Still, overall we had a wonderful meal, and the quality of the food and staff really shined.

Was very good. Service was great and had an amazing view. My cut had a little more fat than I was hoping for but still was very good.

    Crème brûlée was delightful

Even on a very busy night, the service was excellent. Matt was our waiter and did an amazing job informative, attentive, and he had a great sense of humor that made the experience fun and comfortable. I ordered the ribeye medium and it was excellent, my friend got the petite filet, and the barbecue shrimp is always my absolute favorite appetizer. This is exactly why we love coming here.

We had one of the best experiences here! The view was amazing as it's right on the river. We started off with an order of the seared ahi tuna which was so flavorful and tender. We also had a brown butter old fashioned and a blueberry mojito both of which were fantastic and strong. For dinner we each got the Ruth's 3 Course for $60. My husband got the Caesar salad, filet & shrimp, roasted Brussels sprouts and a classic cheesecake. I got the French onion soup, the filet & shrimp, garlic mashed potatoes and the chocolate cheesecake. The steaks were so tender you could cut them with a fork and the rest of the food was so flavorful and good. We truly enjoyed every single bit of our meal. As for the service, it couldn't have been any better. The manager Joseph was outstanding and checked on us several times. Siera was our server and she was simply amazing. Truly one of the best servers we have ever had. We were celebrating my husbands 60th birthday and they truly made it so special. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an outstanding dining experience! Thank you Ruth's Chris for a night to remember

Larry, Robert, and the team were truly fantastic last night! Larry helped find a bottle of aged Caribbean rum for a rum old fashioned for me, we shared some laughs, the food was absolutely delicious! Also, we didn't touch the plates (inside joke if you've ever dined here you know!) thank you for such a memorable experience, we will surely be back! kkibrokers.com -Florida auto, home, boat, and commercial insurance!

First time at this establishment. We went outside on the rooftop bar area to have the Happy hour drinks and wait for our table to be prepared for a party of 11. Once at the table things went well as for drinks and taking orders. Some things should be made clear about some of the dishes, like the Caesar salad comes with an extreme amount of Parmesan cheese. That was a problem for one of the guest and I ordered extra on the side thinking there wouldn't be much on it, but I never even used the extra. We ordered the 3 course for $60 and it was so worth it for the amount of food. My problem was I ordered the salmon that wasn't cooked through in the center, when I brought this to the server's attention I was told they only cook it to a medium rare. I can see with steak that shouldn't apply to fish. Another problem was a burger wasn't cooked to the person request.Even with that issue the service and food was really good. Everyone else ordered the steak and shrimp, they said it was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The only reason I gave it 3 stars was because of the mishaps with the dishes that weren't cooked through.

So it was our first time going to Ruth's Chris steakhouse restaurant, we had a hostess(10) named Kim. She was very attentive and easy to talk to. She made sure everything was accurate and perfect. The location was the best experience. We had a scenery of the bridge and the water which was the perfect view(10). It was our anniversary dinner and they truly made it special(10). They had a greeting card with rose petals on the table in my wife got to try multiple wines(drinks 10). I gave their Porterhouse a 7/10, the flavor, texture, and tenderness did not hit all the marks :) it was still enjoyable!!!

The food was delicious but the service was really bad,our server seamed to be out of it, we had to ask multiple times for bread, we asked for a dessert menu we ordered carrot cake to go just to find out they was out then on top of it all that he got our check wrong I mean over 100 dollars wrong and before my wife could tell him all that was wrong he walked away like he knew and was gonna see if we was gonna pay without looking

I've been here multiple times and not sure why I haven't reviewed this place yet. It's way overdue. Each time, steaks were perfectly grilled to my liking and service has been amazing. Celebrated anniversary, birthdays, and just meet-ups. I'm a fan of this place! Restaurant is located at Downtown Jacksonville's Double Tree by Hilton Hotel overlooking the scenic St. Johns River. Parking at hotel's garage with validation is available. Valet is also available for $8 with a validation sticker.

Ruth's Chris has quickly become one of my favorite places to visit for their bar area happy hour. The location is great, with a fabulous view overlooking the St. Johns river. The happy hour menu has something for everyone, and their craft cocktails are always on point. Service is what you would expect from RC...top notch! It's a great place to spend a few hours and unwind.

    Cheese cake. Very tasty!

She made sure to check up on us, answered all of our questions, and refilled our drinks often. It was super clean there too! We were started off with some fresh, warm bread and a balsamic/olive oil dipping sauce. The bread was perfectly crispy and went so well with the dipping sauce. We were served cold bread before at restaurant so I'm glad we had warm bread! We decided on the following appetizer and entrees: Fried meat ravioli - 8/10: it came out piping hot and it was so delicious! Fried to a nice, golden brown and covered in panko crumbs, it didn't feel heavy at all. It came with a fresh marinara sauce and had parmesan cheese sprinkled on top of the fried ravioli. Each bite was cheesy, crispy, tasty, meaty, and we devoured it quickly! Carbonara Alla Roma - 8.5/10: I thought the portion would be small since I seen photos online but it was actually a great portion. I had enough to take home and eat as leftovers! The pasta was cooked perfectly and the alfredo sauce was balanced and decadent. I could taste the pecorino romano, and cracked black pepper. The pancetta was smoky and added a nice umami flavor to the pasta. I didn't rate it higher because it was slightly missing a little bit of of that BAM factor! but it was pretty delicious! The Sofi - chicken - 9/10: Oh my gosh! My best friend got this and I wished I would have too! It was sooooooooooooooooooo good! It had prosciutto di parma, mushrooms, asparagus, shallots, cooked in wine and tossed in a rose cream sauce. The pasta was also cooked perfectly and that sauce was to die for! Each bite was like tasting the finest flavors and spices of Italy. I could not believe how tasty this was! If you come here, you HAVE to try this dish! Tiramisu - 9.5/10: One of the best tiramisus we've had in Jacksonville. It was the perfect amount of espresso and cream. They had dollops of chocolate sauce on the side and helped elevated the flavor of the tiramisu. It also wasn't super sweet which we appreciate. We don't really like overly sweet desserts and this one hits the mark on everything. Overall, service, food, and atmosphere was great! We would definitely come back to try other menu items! Thank you for such a great first experience, Sofi's!

Pair it with the crème fraîche on either the toasted bread or the chips, and muah perfection! Personally, I preferred it with the chips since I found the toasted bread a little too salty. * The Tuna Carpaccio was a surprising 10/10. We sliced it into strips, making sure each bite had the comb crisps, basil aioli, yuzu aioli, Florida sterlet caviar, micro arugula, and mushrooms. Oh my god! the flavors were incredible. The tuna made each bite light and refreshing, while all the other ingredients layered together beautifully, revealing new flavors as you kept chewing. * The oysters were another 10/10. They were incredibly fresh, and pairing them with the sorbet created such a refreshing combination. The kimchi dropper was just okay, I was hoping for more heat. The mignonette dropper, though, was absolutely delicious and complemented the oysters perfectly. * The Charred Octopus gets a 9/10. The octopus was wonderfully tender, but I wished the chorizo flavor came through more. The fregola was fantastic, it was satisfying and filling without feeling too heavy. * The Mussels Frites earns an 8/10. The fries were perfectly seasoned and honestly one of my favorite parts of the dish. The mussels were good, but like the octopus, I expected a stronger chorizo flavor. * The Burgundy Escargot is a solid 10/10. Absolutely delicious! The rich bone marrow melted in your mouth, and it paired so well with the escargot. Such a creative combination that worked beautifully. * The outdoor seating was wonderful! Even though it was raining, it was still very comfortable thanks to the fans nearby, so it never felt hot or humid. The ambiance was elegant yet relaxing, making it the perfect spot for a romantic date night, a special birthday celebration, or any gathering with family and friends. The overall vibe made the experience even more memorable. Lastly, a special shout-out to our server, Colette! She was wonderful from start to finish! She was always cheerful, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. She took the time to explain the dishes, answered all of our questions with a smile, and made the entire dining experience even more enjoyable.

I also ordered their old world fashioned and was super happy. I try old fashioned everywhere I can and this one is definitely in my top three. Unfortunately, my entree was not as good as the rest of my meal. The flavor of the scallops was strange, I am guessing from the pea flavor. I love mushrooms and risotto, but this one was not good. I haven't had too much experience with fine dining, but I was taken aback and impressed that they even gave me a little side table to put my purse on. And the food itself is really delicious! Starting off with the bread and butter, I'm kind of sad they only gave us one piece each, but I also know if they gave us more, I would have gotten full off of that alone. You get to pick what kind of bread you want from a selection of focaccia, ciabatta, etc. And they're so soft but with a good chew. The butter was also so good. It was super olive oil forward, so it really reminded me of like the bread and olive oil with spices you get at other spots. But solid version of that, while still being super soft and spreadable. I was also super impressed with the hokkaido scallops. Not only were the scallops huge, but it was perfectly cooked all the way through. They had the crispy edges, but the inside wasn't rubbery or chewy. That paired with the creamed corn and charred corn - so so good.

It seemed like this place had a section ready for whatever vibe I could want. I also loved that they had art supplies out for people to get creative while enjoying a drink. Speaking of which, my favorite drink I tried here was the petal pusher because I liked how tea was incorporated into the cocktail. I definitely hope to come back here soon for more trivia & swing dancing events.

The menu is via QR code that takes you to their website and you can find wines, cocktails (with wine) and some beers. I tried the wine flight (Riesling, Cab Sav and an employees choice) which was delicious and a great way to try multiple options to find what you like. Also tried the frozen strawberry frozen marg which I unfortunately did not enjoy. It didn't have a lot of strawberry flavor, it tastes more like cherry medicine. Do want to mention that when it gets busy, it may be hard to find parking and the area is pretty sketchy (I didn't feel safe parking far and having to walk over. One time a homeless guy was yelling at me when I was walking on the sidewalk), so just be mindful and careful if you do park far and having to walk.
