We were escorted to our site, and literally were parked steps from the water. We enjoyed hanging out in the water immediately, and also loved all the wildlife present everywhere on the campground, including an iguana who liked to bask in the tree right next to our RV, numerous pelicans and herons (or egrets? I never know the difference), schools of thousands of little fish, and more. I loved swimming in the area off the swimming dock. The water was cool and refreshing in the heat. Every day, I marveled at the beauty of this place. The clouds and sky looked like cotton candy at dusk. Sunsets were magical. Bahia Honda State Park is only 5 minutes away. I almost didn't go, because this campground was so nice, but fortunately, we went, and of course, that was breathtaking as well. We have starlink so I didn't have internet issues, and we didn't use the marina services, so can't speak to that.

We have a 2 week stay here scheduled for August when lobster season opens. I recently found out through a voicemail that the marina is closed for upgrades. I've been trying to call to find out if they will have boat parking. I've called the marina once and the front office twice and left voicemail messages. I've not received a call back. my other issue is that no-one told me the marina would be under construction before I paid over 4,000 dollars for my spot.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This rating is not because of the facilities or the campground…read moreitself--it is entirely because of the way this situation was handled and the way my family was treated by the management. After nearly four years of visiting Jolly Roger RV Resort in Marathon and spending much of our summers there, I never imagined our experience would end this way. We truly loved this place. Our daughters grew up coming here, made great friends, and created wonderful memories. That is exactly why the way we were treated by the management was so disappointing. After the incident, our conversation regarding our permanent removal from the resort was handled directly by the park manager, Angie. Unfortunately, that conversation left us feeling unheard, unfairly judged, and with the impression that no consideration was given to our years as respectful, responsible guests. During the Fourth of July weekend, when the campground was extremely busy, several children were playing at the dock. As they had done during previous summers, some of them were jumping from the boat ramp into the water. I was the only parent present supervising the children who were with me. An employee came by and asked for the lot numbers of the families there. I was the only person who honestly and responsibly provided our lot number. The following day, I received a phone call from the park manager informing us that we had been permanently banned from the RV park. What hurt the most was not the decision itself, but the way the entire situation was handled. We were never given a meaningful opportunity to explain our side of the story, nor did anyone consider that, throughout all the years we had been coming here, we had never had a single complaint or incident. In addition, we were held responsible for situations that did not involve our family and that, from our perspective, were simply not true. It felt as though decisions were made based on assumptions rather than a fair evaluation of the facts or our long history as respectful guests. I was also surprised that there were no clear signs stating that children were not allowed to jump from that area. The posted signs referred to swimming at your own risk and under adult supervision, so we had no reason to believe that this behavior would result in a permanent ban. The saddest part was feeling as though we were treated like troublemakers or criminals when we have always been a respectful, responsible family that has taken care of both our children and the property. I can only speak about our own experience, but it ended with tremendous disappointment. More than the decision itself, it was the lack of empathy, respect, and willingness to listen that caused us to completely lose confidence in the management. We left heartbroken, especially for our daughters, who loved this place and were looking forward to spending the rest of the summer there. It is unfortunate that so many years of wonderful memories ended because of a situation that, in our opinion, could have been handled with communication, fairness, and basic respect. I sincerely hope the management reflects on how they treat families and handle situations like this. A great RV park is defined not only by its facilities, but also by the fairness, professionalism, and humanity with which it treats its guests.

No where to get food unless you go next door to the beautiful Koa campground or at Mangrove Mammas about 1/2 a mile away. Thank goodness we brought our bikes. There is no laundry facilities and the lagoon area you can't swim in. Makes no sense why they have kayaks and floating cabanas if you can't swim in the lagoon. The bathrooms were nice. The pool was relaxing but the walls were dirty in the pool. The staff were friendly and helpful. We won't be back with our 45' Rv. Very tight spots.

The sites are narrow, and the space between sites is minimal. If this park is ever full, there will be many who will not be able to have their awnings out and possibly even their slide out opened. Most sites are very difficult to pull into or back down because of how unforgiving and tight the park was designed . Lack of staff means the floating picnic canopies are deflating and green. Their pool is/was completely unusable and green. Their bathroom floors were thick with dirt. They had multiple turnovers in management and staffing. Come prepared for these inconveniences and you will enjoy being so close to Key West. It's also a telling sign is that they constantly encourage you to go next-door to the KOA for laundry, the pool, the pub, and the beach. KOA is clearly a good neighbor.
