Paid $1,190 all-in to rent a 2018 Thor RV for the weekend in Nevada. The communication with Will Villafana was all fine and good, however after a couple of minor damages (broken door lock, broken shelf in the RV fridge). We had to pay $1,428.56 to replace those two items. I think the amount charged by RVShare had to do with the fact that they require a $1500 deposit, meaning that they are able to easily keep up to $1500 of your money but would have to ask for more if the repairs were more than that. It really hurts to have to pay more than twice the amount we put down to go on the entire trip. I think the key issue here is that nobody is taking blame for the significantly high repair charge (RVShare takes the position of "middle man" and therefore takes no risk on the repairs of vehicles owned by the people using their platform) and as a result, the consumer suffers. I want to be fair in my assessment but at the same time something doesn't feel right when you pay $1,190 to rent an RV for the weekend and end up with $1,428.56 in repairs after putting down a $1500 deposit. I think a reduction in the deposit down to $500 would fix this issue. read more

I book 3 to 5 rvs a year. I went to rv share website and began the booking process. Found a toy hauler i like and booked it. Owner accepted the booking and was happy with everything. Paid for the booking. During that process we chose our insurance package we wanted and submitted. About 5 mins later got a email stating rv share needed more info and for me to contact cusyomer care. Did that. Whike on hold got 3 more emails stating booking was canceled. Spoke with customer care as to why. They had no clue except the insurance declined it. I have a 100% clean driving record. No felony or misdemeanor convictions. Customer care could figure out why. I requested a call back from a supervisor or manager. They said a request was put in. Went to log back in and my account was locked. Called customer service back asking why. They said yes you have been blocked from using our web site. I asked why. He said it doesnt state any reason. Someone up higher chose to block it. Kind of crazy. I do hope someone reaches out that is higher up. But i dont expect them to reach out. I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT RENTING FROM rv share. They double dip fees on the owner and Renter sides, and when damages occur and you file a claim, they straight out leave you out on the dark. Years of using the unit without problems, and the first time I decided to rent it out, the couch come back completely destroyed!!! All I wanted to do was inquire about an RV I was interested in renting. RVShare will take you through the whole booking and payment procedure, and then hours or days later will tell you the RV is no longer available. This happened to us three times in one week- we had no successful bookings. The INSINCERE, DISHONEST, ILLEGAL thing about it is that they do no issue a full refund. DO NOT rent from RVshare or from Mickey with RVshare!!! Mickey cancelled our rental at literally 7 PM the night before we were supposed to pick it up at 9 AM the next morning!!! She stated that the RV has, "one tire that the belts are broke in the center is bulging . There is a 50% chance that it will blow on you". She stated the replacement tires her husband special ordered did not get there in time and that she put the spare tire from our camper on another one of her rentals so there wasn't even a spare tire for our camper. Our adult children had already taken time off work so the trip needed to happen still. We scrambled around that night to order 2 tents and an air mattress. After the trip, we contacted RVshare and asked them to reimburse us the cost of the 2 tents and the air mattress due to the last minute cancellation, but they refused and would only refund us the cost of the rental. On top of all of that, RVshare refused to let us leave a review on Mickey's rental/profile due to us not completing the rental. That's completely unfair to not be allowed to let other potential renters know the risk they take in renting from Mickey and/or RVshare. Within the first hour, we reported severe shaking and tire balance issues to the owner with video documentation. We even stopped at an RV center, where we were told the tires were cupped. Despite our concerns, we pushed forward carefully. On July 1st, one of the rear outer tires blew out on a rural stretch of Highway 70 in Ohio -- at night -- with six of us in the vehicle, including children. Roadside assistance never showed, despite being "assigned," and we were forced to call local police several times for help. Eventually, we paid a private tow truck company out-of-pocket just to get safely to a hotel. We were forced to abandon the RV and spend thousands of dollars to fly home, book two rental cars, and pay for lodging. We submitted all receipts and followed every instruction from RVshare and their insurance. Still, we were only partially refunded, and RVshare refused to cover the actual emergency expenses despite clear evidence. Even worse, they charged us an additional $500 for an insurance deductible -- but refused to apply that toward our out-of-pocket expenses or refund it. Their dispute resolution process was unprofessional, dismissive, and lacked empathy. We were left stranded, stressed, and financially burdened. We hope no other family has to go through this. Planning started very early in 2025 and we decided to rent a camper with a bathroom as we were traveling with a disabled person. Booked the camper online in April through RVSHARE/INDIECAMPERS with seeing only a photo. My daughter did the booking because she was more familiar with online bookings. When we arrived to the INDIE CAMPERS IN VILLA PARK ILLINOIS on pick up day, I didn't get a real good vibe, just didn't feel right. When I went inside the place it felt very unwelcoming. A women came out of the back room after a while and we had to go through a process of the contract on a 9" tablet in a cold waiting room, signing. Again very unprofessional. Then she said we would check the camper before we complete this. As we are going outside I mentioned the bathroom use and she replied "you can't use the water or toilet the van has been winterized.' I replied 'then I have to cancel because we rented this based on using it", she replied 'there are plenty of Love's or rest stops" on the way to Florida. I said you don't understand and she offered that I could pay almost $1000, yes ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS to unwinterize it and re-winterize it.......if I want to use it????? I booked this in April for DECEMBER, who rents a camper to not use the bathroom???? I asked why this would not be a BIG RED FLAG to renters who want to rent in DECEMBER. She pointed to the signs in the waiting room. Well I can't see them online..... After some back and forth we went to the camper. I went to get in and there is no running board to step up on the driver side So you had to jump down to get out and pull yourself up to get in. In the process of setting up a new customer rental account, identification process asked for identification. Totally reasonable and acceptable requirement. I went through the procedure and could not get past some hiccup, and called customer service for help. Customer service asked that I email the same ID's which I did, and all that seemed to work. The tires that were on the back of the RV, were not only BALD - two of them completely blew (and I mean SHREDDED) 1 hour into our trip. We were left on the side of the highway (US 16 - which is a minimum MPH of 70 with tractor trailers blowing by every 2-3 minutes), from 10:45 p.m. until 5:45 the next morning. WE had to pay out of pocket, $1600 to have the two tires replaced that should have been replaced prior to our trip, and have not been reimbursed by either the owner or RV Share. Not only was our safety completely jeopardized, but we were not able to get ahold of the "24/7" roadside assistance that RV share claims to have. After calling the number on their website, 6 times, waiting on a hold tone line for 30 minutes EACH and every time, the call would end and hang up on us. THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISEMENT AND FRAUDULENT. They left PAYING customers in an extremely dangerous and potentially fatal situation, and they have STILL not made this right. This RV was overall a complete disappointment. The advertisement claims it sleeps 8, however the owners screwed in the table settee that is supposed to fold down into a bed, (and FAILED TO LET US KNOW prior) rendering that space completely useless. This is false advertisement. On TOP of that, the entire side bump out motor (that had "two" sleeping areas) did not even function. We had to manually push the entire slider out, so that our space was usable for sleep. It took all members of our group, to open the slider, and all of us to close the slider from the outside in on our final day. The bathrooms were dirty and looked like they had not been cleaned in years - dust and dirt and general grime. The master bathroom overhead window/vent was completely falling apart and unable to be closed, letting in bugs constantly. The doors on the master bedroom didn't even close, because they were off the rails. Not only has RV Share not provided us with a reimbursement for the money and fees that we paid for out of pocket, they don't respond to emails, they provide you with a claims specialist that does not help either and says that they are surprised that someone from their team has not yet reached out, and then goes MIA. RV Share is a complete waste of your time. You are going to be sadly mislead on any RV that you rent. This is our second time, and LAST time renting from RVShare, as BOTH experiences were completely misleading and there is no quality assurance on the RVs they are comfortable and COMPLIANT renting to paying customer. read more

I reserved a 21' travel trailer through RVShare in Dec 2025, for a February trip. While communication was great, and the pricing was unbeatable by other rental places, the end result was a disaster. RVShare charged my card for half the rental up front, and several weeks later for the remainder and the insurance (required). I was getting emails from them periodically telling me my date was coming up. 3 days prior to the trip, they charged my credit card for the $500 refundable security deposit. The day before, I got an email telling me to print and sign the departure form. The day of, with my truck packed and ready to go, I notified my travel partner that I was on my way to pick up the trailer. He was driving from Phoenix and was going to meet me at camp. When I arrived at the host's house to pick up the trailer, he informed me the trailer was not available, that the previous renter had destroyed it and it was not towable. He said he had notified RVShare of this and requested my reservation be canceled 2 weeks prior. He seemed surprised that I was there and that RVShare had not notified me. He said he would notify them again, and that I should get a FULL refund. Disappointed, but with no other options, I went home and told my travel partner to cancel. To their minimal credit, RVShare did try to find me anothere RV to rent but the only one available had no generator and no A/C. With temps in the upper 90s, I declined and requested they process a refund immediately. It was at this point they stopped communication. All communication to this point had been via text. When they went dark, I ended up calling them on the phone and got someone in Pakistan or India. They told me the reservation had not been canceled and I couldn't get a refund even though I read them the text they had sent telling me the reservation had been canceled, and I had watched the host perform the cancellation on his ipad. It took several minutes of discussion bordering on argument before they relented and agreed to a PARTIAL refund. They keep a portion of your payment they call a "screening fee". I have not yet received my refund. Although they charged my card immediately for partial payment, it takes them 2-5 days to refund. Do not use the company under any circumstances. While the host was apologetic and understanding, RVShare only wants your money. Even though this trip was canceled through no fault of mine, they still get paid. read more

We happily agreed to pay an outlandishly large amount of money for a rental with even outrageous insurance fees (28% of total cost) but draw the line at RVshare's inability to rectify their error regarding Overage Fees. RVshare failed its fiduciary role to accept responsibility, after disputing an issue, for an error RVshare made with regard to tallying up owner required fees correctly. Which were plainly noted in contract and was originally agreed to. RVshare allowed changes to contract fees after contract was agreed to and signed off on twice as Overages. On top of the error made by RVshare the company charged us a 15% fee on the changed fees. RVshare refused to concede they made any error and offered no correction or resolution. I wasted hours over the course of a few days with RVshare Support Staff. I highly recommend future renters to beware of RVshare unwillingness to address their own error (likely due to their technology unable to count/apply number of nights correctly) in drawing up contracts in the first place. Which is their role as fiduciary. I will never use RVshare again. It failed us miserably! . read more

I don't recommend using this company if you're actually a customer who has expectations of being really taken care of when things go wrong. There are NO controls in place to protect the actual customer. The owner of the RV pictures cancelled on us 1-day prior to our trip due to maintenance issues with the vehicle. This was sorely & severely devastating to me and my family due to the circumstances surrounding the trip. The company's contract states that if there is a cancellation, they will try to locate compatible/comparable rental. That is not necessarily a realistic statement since it is nearly impossible to locate something compatible and up to standard 1-day prior. Although RV Share tried to search, they were unable to find a compatible vehicle. Ultimately I was the one who located the alternate vehicle after 7 very stressful hours of searching. Thank goodness for those owners as they were so pleasant to work with. I requested compensation for our troubles and was offered a $300 reimbursement from a $3000 rental. This was absolutely unacceptable especially since had it been the customer who cancelled 1-day prior, I would've lost my complete deposit. RV share should really consider revising their policies to ensure that customers are better protected. RV owners at a minimum should ensure their vehicles are inspected at least 1-wk prior to rental. When they do not comply or when a short notice cancellation can be prevented through proper planning, the owner should also be held accountable to pay a % for the inconvenience to the customer for at least 1/2 of the rental amount. This type of oversight, mistreatment, and negligence should not come from a company who prides itself on being the #1 RV service. read more

Absolutely the WORST experience I have ever had tryiing to rent an RV. First, they take the money out immediately when booking, which is fine. However, after trying for days to get ID verification, the website kept saying something went wrong. So I sent in by email the documents and sat for days more when I was told it would be done quickly as it was escalated. Next I received an email stating by booking was cancelled when I ABSOLUTELY needed this RV I had booked. Plus, I am now waiting to see about my refund of the money they had ALREADY taken out without verification! RVShare has the WORST customer service and policies. I had a booking for the eclipse and the renter canceled it last minute, literally as I was picking up the camper for delivery. They don't have an option for you to not fill out the departure and return form if the renter cancels but doesn't cancel from their side. I'm NOT comfortable filing out a document stating the renter has my camper for XXXX days when they don't. I was nice and called and canceled for my renter and was told I'd get paid. Explained the whole situation to the representative who informed me I'd still get paid the next day. Needless to say I didn't get paid and I called twice and was told a supervisor would call me within 24 to 48 hours. Three days later and no one called and they don't care about their owners. Will be removing my RV and never using them again. Horrible policies. I had four other renters wanting our camper that week. The last rep I spoke to said, "Well maybe someone will rent it out". My first experience with RVShare was yesterday and MY LAST!!! NEVER AGAIN! My vacation is RUINED!!! If I could give it negative 10 stars I would!!!! This has been a nightmare and my vacation is RUINED! To start, it's the 4th of July weekend, my vacation, and my son is a musician and his band is performing at the lakes area venue for 4th of July! It's a BIG DEAL! I paid in full when reserving this RV 2.5 months PRIOR! 3 days before the rental started, the owner contacted me with some BS about the RV I originally rented was broken and he had a BETTER one for me at the same price but he wanted to do it OUSTIDE of RVSHare and to bring CASH when i met him at the RV(he was also paid $250 to deliver 50miles away and pick up). I know Should have been a HUGE RED FLAG TO ME! But, this guy is a veteran, I TRUSTED him!!! He told me "the other RV is bigger and nicer than the one you originally rented". So I asked for pics.... and of COURSE he didn't have any (I Know RED FLAG #2) and AGAIN, assured me "it's much NICER!" The day BEFORE my rental began, he called and asked me if I could be there early in the am instead of the 3pm check in time. I explained the park wouldn't allow me there before 3pm and he asked for the parks number and said he would handle it. He would deliver it, set it up, and have it nice and cool waiting on our arrival that afternoon and I could just pay him when he came to pick it up 4 days later. THE day of the rental, I left my house (1.5+ hrs out) and loaded my 2, full size Boxer dogs, all our crap, kennels, and missed my sons show that day in order to arrive to take delivery of the RV. About 30 minutes outside of my destination, I sent a text asking if everything went ok setting it up...he called me 20 min later and stated he "broke the sewer line pulling the rv out to bring to me". And "he had ANOTHER rv (#3 now) that was much SMALLER than the one I'd paid for and older, but it worked." I told him absolutely not! "This is my vacation" and I am very upset by this time. He then asked if "I could use it without water????" R you kidding me???? "Uh NO! IM GOING TO BE THERE 4DAYS!!!!" He then proceeds to tell me he is working on it and he doesn't know WHEN he will be able to deliver it. I am now at my destination, no RV, no NOTHING, with 2 dogs, fully loaded down in my car. I am furious. I waited 3.5 LONG pain staking hrs and then tried to text and ask when he thought he may be bringing it to the park...he didn't reply. So I called. He sent me to VM 5 times! An hour and a half later he sends me a long text and tells me he was "in Lowe's getting parts and his phone didn't work in there". At this point I have no choice but to BEG to have the RV delivered or cancel my vacation, the show, everything!!! Mind you, my son his GF, and possibly one other, are going to be here any time now) He again says "I offered you the other smaller older trailer but you didn't want it". Livid by this point, I didn't say a word. He then said he would be done in about 1.5 hrs and bring it as agreed. 2 hrs pass and STILL NOTHING!!!!! It's getting dark, my dogs are thirsty and hungry, I am furious and I send him a text asking if he is or isn't bringing the RV so i can decide to drive the 1.5+ hrs home or not. He calls 20 min later and tells me "well I changed the part, i dont know if it will work or not, but you can still have this other small older rv" I said "AGAIN, this is My vacation!!!!!!!!!" RV Share has the worst customer service. I booked a month ago and 2 weeks before my trip I receive an email stating my reservation is canceled due to insurance coverage declined. RV Share said they couldn't advise on the issue and only suggested I have my Trip Partner rebook. After I did the leg work myself, I was able to get ahold of the insurance company who said the issue was with my driver license and couldn't confirm my name. Turns out it was because I was recently married and had a name change.... Issue was resolved in less than 5 minutes. However, why couldn't this have been a proactive call before canceling my reservation!? After the insurance company fixed the issue I tried to get my reservation back and RV Share stated their system doesn't have the ability to reinstate a reservation...and I couldn't find the RV I originally reserved. They had to send me a link and now it's double the rate which they said they could do anything about it. I asked to talk to a manager and they said they would put in a request for a manager to contact me. This is such a ridiculous way to run a business. If I don't get a call from a manager by Monday 7/18/22 I'm filing a complaint with the BBB. RVshare needs to make sure the owners are not scammers like mine. Motorhome was nothing like advertised. Pictures were from when new. Nothing worked. Both side mirrors were broken, generator leaked gas, A.C. only worked when taking foot off the gas, 2 front tires bald making Motorhome shake like crazy on freeway, 2 outside shade awnings didn't work, pullout bed was destroyed couldn't sleep on it, transmission got so hot the floor was untouchable. Tons of fees and extra charges, customer service is obviously farmed out to a call center in the Philippines or somewhere. Wasted my vacation on hold trying to get assistance for a broken down RV. I had to take care of everything myself to get it fixed in order to have a way home from the middle of nowhere. Then make it home and get hit with additional fees and overages. Poor value poor communication and service will not use again. read more

Wish I had read these reviews prior to using RVShare. Everything all these other reviews say are spot on. Terrible experience so far. Three days ago I completed a reservation, received confirmation, and uploaded the required documents for insurance protection. Received confirmation as well as a certificate of coverage identification card. Two days later I'm notified the my reservation has been cancelled because I failed to upload the documents and complete the trip protection. They didn't seem to care that I had written confirmation as well as a printed out hard copy of the COI. After many hours on the phone and emails, I was told I needed to rebook the RV and that my visa would be refunded for the initial reservation. I have now rebooked the reservation, received confirmation, and advised that I need to complete the trip protection portion. The website is now giving me an error code that will not allow me to complete the process. Customer service is pleasant on the phone but worthless at resolving the issue. CS rep advised that the owner needed to be contacted and I would hear back from them..... still waiting, day 2. They now have collected the rental fee twice, one of which I'm told will be refunded? But, I still don't have a completed reservation. Any other RV rental service would have to be better than this one. read more

RVShare let the renting party from their website commit fraud. The owner of a company called EXCURSION RV RENTALS was advertising through RVShare. Owner Julie Golden Burke provided dysfunctional non-operating trailer through their website. Re-routed the money to their VENMO. When I informed RVshare they ignored my requests to even look into it. Then I went through BBB and still RVshare wouldn't even WARN the renter to stop or look into the matter. They are allowing fraud to be committed by letting any owner rent through their site, and after a customer is screwed the RVShare response is "oh its not my problem." Its not about the money its about the way they let customers be defrauded. During the COVID-19 pandemic we had to cancel our reservation and the owner of the RV "Honrad C." who owns the... 2019 Thor Four Winds Bunk House 2019 Thor Motor Coach Four Winds 30D in Los Angeles, CA said..."this Virus is getting out of hand go ahead and cancel the reservation and RV share will refund the money." Think again....RV share says they cant do anything and the Owners suddenly dont respond to ANYTHING. overall... Do not use these guys. They send you emails with confirmation about a reservation and have you sign a contract and 2 days later, after I'm calling for additional info, I realize it's not booked and they don't have availability... the email start with confirmation and that's what you get a couple of days after?!? And wasted over 25min just waiting for someone to answer Beware! read more

Exactly what everyone else has said. Family vacation nearly ruined because my reservation was canceled a day before leaving for no reason. Save yourself the anxiety and book with Outdoorsy. So far that experience has been seamless. read more
