As the result of being forced to go to a bad dentist as a kid, I have PTSD, panic attacks, and generalized anxiety disorder. My bestie also had a horrible dentist as a kid. She suffers from severe Dental trauma and PTSD just like I do. When I told her my problem, she said Dr Senft DDS is fantastic at what he does. He is kind, patient, listens when she has concerns. She was right!! Dr Senft is kind, direct and is super transparent. He has prompt, efficient appointments *and* his shots are not that painful, super magical! Only be a 1,-3 on the pain scale. His office staff is very friendly, welcoming and there's lots of natural light. He and his staff are kind, respectful and accommodating. There's no smell of novocaine, no screaming, and he keeps a a great selection of mellow classic rock songs playing in the background every time I've been so far. Today was my second visit, and it was fantastic! Seriously, he fixed cavities in five of my teeth in just a few hours. And for a reasonable price! So already, this is shaping up to be pretty great! Dr. Senft himself is a genuinely kind dentist, knows very well what he is doing, and wants to help his patients not just collect a paycheck. He does not rush things, but he moves quickly, which tells me he knows exactly what he's doing. Two of the last dentists I saw told me I needed a crown on my front left incisor. I didn't understand why because it was just cracked. Dr Senft took one look at the tooth in question then asked , "Why do you need a crown? I can fix that for you today - t'll be fine.! He did an awesome job! And now I don't have to hide my smile when I do my sales job. This is great! I'm already feeling the change in earnings. I have major PTSD, Post traumatic stress disorder as well as Panic Attack and generalized anxiety disorder. The cause was mostl a *bad* dentist my mom forced me to go to as a kid. My childhood Dr (Dr Y for short) was *painful*, he stretched my lips until they bled because his fingers a were so big he could not work on my mouth without doing it. He also hurt my jaw on numerous occasions by forcing it open too far. His office reeked of novocaine. Dr Y's shots were an eight or nine on the pain scale and I screamed snd crird even though I do have a high pain tolerance. After a while my pediatric dentist started bringing me into a separate soundproof room so the other victims...aka patients couldn't hear me screaming. He also very securely strapped me into that chair although I have not and never will be a violent person nor ever hit anybody.. I don't think that's legal honestly but, that was in the 1980s When I turned 18 naturally I chose to go to different dentist. . For the last 38 years, whenever I have visited a dentist, my body goes into fight or flight (panic mode). I immediately soak with a large layer of sweat. I have literally soaked seven dentist chairs by this point (45/f now). I've had several dentists remark that they've never seen anything like it. Yeah, that pediatric dentist Dr Y tortured me. I've been bringing a large cotton towel to place on the dental chair to absorb my sweat. I almost always also have to change my clothes after my appointments too. Omg. Today was my second visit at Dr Semft's office and I barely sweated! This is huge. Based on poor advice of my mother, who said that getting an implant was easier than getting a crown, I chose to have my Rt incisor removed 5 years ago and an implant put in its place. Big mistake. The guy was a well-known very experienced oral surgeon, he removed my tooth wonderfully, but he did not pack the bone enough in my jaw. He did apologize to me. When I came back, he said he would have to reopen my jaw, pack more bone in there, then let it heal, and then he can finally place the post. I was just not okay with that. Dr Senft said that he would be as painless and as efficient as possible, and I believe him. 10/10. I almost hate to write this review because I'm afraid that now his calendar will be more booked, but he deserves our full props. And you deserve a kind dentist who will treat you well. The Dentist told me that my rear crown was old and rotting away in my mouth! YUCK! So we set up an appt and that was today. It took about two hours to do the whole job and it was awesome. Ryan is an artist as well as a dentist. he made my new crown right there in the office in about 45 minutes. it is so beautiful that i asked if i could take a picture of it. This Dentist office welcomed my daughter with opens arms! When we were looking for a pediatric dentist, I had a hard time finding a good fit until I came upon Dr.Laform's office (previously named). The staff has always been and continues to be very friendly, after Dr.Laform left. Soon after we met Dr.Senft, who is very kind, knowledgeable and gentle with his patients. My daughter has had bad experiences with past dentist offices, but after her visits here she is very happy and looks forward to coming back! I have had my teeth cleaned several times , had a tooth extraction, and yesterday a crown put on a lower tooth . i was amazed the crown prep AND cementing were all done in one visit. Great place, highly recommend. Hygienists do a great job, and Dr. Senft does a thorough inspection post cleaning. The group as a whole is very responsive to emails which is a nice change of pace from other doctor's offices. As for COVID-19 precautions, its nice to see they actually take it seriously. The receptionist comes outside of the building to verbally go through the COVID questionnaire, takes your temp and then brings you in. You then use hand sanitizer when you enter before you fill any forms out. It's also great to see the people who work there keep their face mask on properly covering their mouth and nose. read more

This is a great clinic! I went in for my first visit recently (after a few years with another dentist) and Mei was excellent with the x-rays and cleaning. Having seen a few dentists and hygienists so far, Mei was just amazingly gentle at the cleaning. Dr. Senft and the entire staff are the absolute kindest group of individuals. I, like many, haven't always been quite fond of going to the dentist, but EVERYONE here is so incredibly kind - I can't express that enough. Something that I am always shocked by is the fact that everyone really tries to get to know you as a person. Even after 6 months, and I assume plenty of patients in between, Dr. Senft and the dental hygienest always remember what we talked about last and we can just pick up the conversation from where we left off, which is always very impressive to me. It really makes going to the dentist more enjoyable to know that they care about me beyond just my dental health, and that I am not just another patient to them. The receptionist also knows our whole family and is just beyond sweet! As for their COVID-19 precautions, I was very impressed. You have to wear a mask and the receptionist comes outside of the building to bring you in, but not before taking your temp and screening you with a set of questions. This is the best experience you will ever have with a dentist. I've been seeing Dr. Senft since he took over the practice from Dr. La From. I have a fear of dentist so the change could have been traumatic but it turned out to be the beginning of losing the fear. Dr Senft and his staff make you feel so comfortable and relaxed like you're at a spa. On this last visit, Dr. Senft replaced and old crown on a back tooth. I never felt the shot or any pain during or after the procedure. It only required one visit since he can make the crown in his office. My visits over the years have included crown replacements, implants, fillings and replacement of fillings, tooth removal and all the other activities to keep me smiling. I didn't know how good a dentist practice could be until I started coming here. I switched from my previous one because they had some newer and fancier equipment here. But it turns out that the staff--from the front desk to the hygienists to Dr. Senft--are also exceptionally organized, competent, and thoughtful. TLDR: Everyone in this office is amazing. If you're phobic and avoidant, like i was, you can trust Dr. Senft and his kind, wonderful, competent team. I usually don't write reviews, and certainly not one as detailed as this one will be, but I thought it was important because it was those types of reviews that got me to Dr. Senfts office, and on the road to true dental health. I have had terrible luck with dentists my whole life. In my experience, dental work equates to pain, frustration, guilt, and feeling totally in the dark about what was being done, and why. By the time I'd reached adulthood, I was caught in a cycle of avoiding dental work until I had an emergency, and then getting questionable dental work which often resulted in an experience that reinforced my fears...rinse, repeat. I have had some really upsetting times in the chair: a dentist who accidentally injected air into my cheek, inflating it like a balloon...a dentist who worked on grinding down a broken tooth for an hour, before they noticed that half of it *wasn't attached to the gum*, necessitating an extraction of the then almost nonexistent tooth...not to mention the dentist who refused to re-check a filling that was continually catching food, who told me that I just needed to floss "extra well" from now on, which ended up causing the broken tooth...and so on. Part of my problem stemmed from the guilt and shame I felt whenever I did manage to get myself to a dentist. Because of my history, I am a *very* tense patient, and it seemed to exasperate every dentist I'd see. I'd tell a new dentist that I was really phobic, and would be met with cold indifference at best, and at worse, outright eye rolling. Needless to say, this really compounded shame, and increased my desire to put off going to the dentist. I found Dr. Senft during a panic search, at 3am. I had just undergone three root canals, and had an appointment the next morning to begin the process of placing crowns. I went down a research rabbit hole, because while lying awake and stressing, it occurred to me that I had no idea what the process would be, or what materials were available to choose from. After finding some information about CEREC same-day crowns, I started frantically searching for a dentist who offered them. The first thing I noticed about Dr. Senft, was that his office responded to *every* review. And not just quick, form-letter type of responses, but these little heartfelt messages to each patient. I visited his Instagram, and saw posts that I can only describe as full blown dental nerdery. This passion and excitement for dentistry was something I hadn't really seen before, and I found it unbelievably reassuring. I called as soon as their office opened, and was treated with nothing but kindness and respect. I was asked if it would be ok to first schedule an appointment to just meet Dr. Senft, and go over my treatment options, because it might make me feel more at ease. When I got off the phone, I cried with relief. Every single person in this office is kind, and personable. The professionalism is obvious, but so is the warmth they feel for their patients. Communication is top-notch. My fear and shame were met with patience and kindness, and any questions were answered with respect and honesty. The crowns are beautiful, and the process and cleaning I received were the most painless dental work I've ever experienced. I can't possibly explain how relieved I am to have found this practice. My first tooth extraction is another reminder of my aging body. Unfortunately, fear doesn't decrease with age. I decided to man-up and go without Valium and the required driver. My wife still insisted on driving which only increased my fear. It can't be that bad? I have been with Dr Senft for several years. I was surprised after Dr Senft attached a CEREC Crown and the bite was perfect. No grinding required! I later needed two more CEREC Crowns and both were perfect. Their Cupertino office is freshly updated with contemporary décor and state-of-the-art equipment, most notably the 3D x-ray machine - cavities can't hide from this device. Many doctors right now are doing appointments by Doxy or Zoom during this Covid-19 Pandemic, which works really well for many patients. But you really cannot do this with your dentist, right? Well, I had nothing to worry about in terms of my health safety with Dr. Senft and his office team. He and his staff exceed expectations when it comes to following the safest patient and dental staff protocol. Never have I felt safer during this pandemic then when I went to Dr. Senft's office, twice in one week: to have my teeth cleaned and then returning for the in-office creation and placement of a new crown. Since I am usually a high-anxiety patient during normal times you can imagine my fear-factor in resuming my regular appointments as we re-open services in California. Dr. Senft and his staff all wear masks, require you to check in while in your car, and have your temperature checked with an infrared thermometer to make sure you don't have a fever. You also must answer some basic questions before you can proceed into the office. What was really nice is that there aren't people in a waiting room. The office is being run to minimize traffic and social distancing to the maximum. There is plenty of hand sanitizer, surfaces and the facilities are regularly sanitized, medical-grade air filters are running in every office to keep the air germ-free. All the rules that have been recommended for reopening businesses are being followed impeccably! Dr. Senft and his staff are incredibly efficient, pleasant to be around, and highly qualified professionals. I never worry about any inefficiencies; l always know that I am going to receive the best of care every time I am there, with his hygienist, dental assistants, receptionist and office manager, and especially, with Dr. Senft. I've been a patient since he took over from Dr. LaFrom in 2017. He exhibits the qualities I value most in a dentist: competence, honesty and a calm demeanor. They're using the latest high-tech equipment and procedures, including digital X-rays (regular and 360 degree), inter-oral cameras, and electronic record keeping. He also has an onsite CNC milling machine - a complete crown in under 2 hours, I was amazed! Treatment options are fully explained, with no pressure to take any specific actions unless I agree. Staff are friendly, caring and very competent. During cleaning visits, gums are carefully checked along with teeth, and any changes carefully recorded. They send multiple reminders for each appointment, and handle all the insurance paperwork. Office has been fully reconfigured for full compliance with COVID-19 precautions. The entire staff is cut from the same compassionate cloth and absolutely, truly care about you and what you are going through. Last week my husband chipped his front tooth, and was very self conscious about how it made him look. We contacted Dr Senft's office and although they were booked for at least a week or two, they managed to squeeze him. Among being concerned about how it looked, he was concerned it would get worse. Dr. Senft assured him that not only would it be cosmetically fixed, it would not cause an issue with he integrity of the tooth in the future. I was able to take a picture of the tooth and email it to the office so the doc could evaluate it and quote before I got there. They were also able to fit me in the next day. I have been going to Dr. Senft since he first came to this area. He is an expert in his field, and excellent in explaining every step of whatever process he is doing. In addition to fillings and the regular cleanings, he has done several crowns for me, and this week he completed my first implant. Unlike many dental practices, where crowns have to be sent out and the patient waits for two weeks with a temporary (then has to return for the final fitting), Dr Senft has the technology to computer model the crown, machine it in less than 30 minutes, and install it in one 90-minute visit. How valuable is that?!! And the fit has always been perfect the first time. The implant procedure was painless and the final visit lasted less than 60 minutes. I recommend him and his practice to everyone I know who needs a dentist, and I would recommend it to anyone reading this. I gladly drive from Los Gatos to Cupertino to see him.
