The drinks are awesome, I've tried the following drinks; taro, almond delight latte, hazelnut delight latte, hibiscus sunset, phoenix milk tea, and tropical blend fruit tea. All tasted great and they're adjustable for sweetness. The owner recommends the almond delight to be done with oat milk and have coffee jelly, which I definitely agree it tastes great! I recommend trying out their samples, to get a feel of what you would want. read more

I really enjoy this coffee spot, one of the more hidden spots compared to the rest of Downtown Fullerton. But definitely not a place to miss. If you prefer cold drinks, it's pretty good. I'm more so a hot drink enjoyed, but a cold foam drink. They have a pretty good selection of more refreshing things I can't wait to try. It is a much more relaxed spot, so good for studying, especially if you enjoy a more laid-back cafe. Seating is available, though limited, but I haven't had an issue getting a spot. read more

was in the mood for a good matcha latte and saw this place wasnt too far from me so decided to give them a try! the outside was very unsuspecting as it is located between a taco bar and a subway with a plain banner outside (see pic for reference). I didn't want to get my hopes up since I've been let down by too many matcha places in the past. when I went in, there were a few tables and some people sitting and chatting inside. it was fairly quiet - a good spot to study or hangout and have a chat! I ordered 3 drinks to go and they came out relatively quickly since there was no line! I interacted with one man mostly (I wanna say he's the owner or in a higher up position) because he was super friendly and knowledgeable about the drinks! I overheard a call he had where he told the customer which drinks were popular and that they use ceremonial grade matcha (a huge plus!!) when my drinks were ready, he let me know to drink it within a few hours or it won't be good especially the one that had no ice. I ordered the creamy matcha for my cousin and me and we were actually speechless at how good it was! first impression was that the matcha color was beautifully green and vibrant! after one sip, we were amazed at how high quality the matcha was and how creamy the drink was! it wasn't overly sweet nor milky; it was honestly perfect! we had to savor each sip because it was really that good!! safe to say, I will be returning and if you're a fan of matcha, this is the place!! Currently in their soft opening as of 2 months ago and I'm so thankful to the Yelper that recommended the Phoenix Milk Tea as a possible dupe of Orobae's (RIP) rising Phoenix Oolong Milk Tea because low and behold THIS might be the best if not even better alternative I've found so far. The tea essence really packs a punch and I was thoroughly impressed. There is ample seating inside and they're conveniently located right across from Fullerton Community college. I chatted with Peter who rang me up and also found out he owns and operates it with his wife and both have a passion for all things coffee, tea and boba! The inside looked very nice with big windows letting in the natural light. We were provided samples to try and their most popular drink the phoenix mil tea was very good. I ended up ordering genmaicha latte with oat milk to try something different. I normally get 50% sugar but the owner insisted 100% was the right amount since he doesn't add as much as other tea places. The 100% was not super sweet so it was a good suggestion. This building is definitely cursed because they go out of business or rebrand every few years and it's always a coffee or boba spot. However, Ryo looked very interesting with their wide variety of drinks in their menu including coffee, fruit teas, milk teas, and matcha offerings. My job as a member of the Yelp Elite community is to try a wide variety of items and report back with my honest opinion so that's exactly what I did. Here's what I ordered: **House Fusion Brew: The initial coffee taste in this drink was very bitter with no flavor. The cheese foam was quite flavorful but the advertised "soft dusting" of cocoa powder was extremely overwhelming. The cocoa flavor took over the whole dynamic of the drink. The last half of the coffee was good mixed in with the cheese foam and cocoa powder but the first half was not good. (2/5) **Phoenix Milk Tea: I originally wanted to get this 30% sweet but the lady offered a sample for me to try also informing me that the base milk tea is on the less sweet side. It was actually significantly less sweeter than most milk teas at other boba joints. I opted out to get my drink 50% sweet and added boba. The overall flavor of the milk tea was excellent even getting it half sweet. The boba was on the chewier side but the flavor was good. I prefer my boba firm but I actually didn't mind it too much. Toppings are much cheaper than other places with a decent amount so no complaints. (4.5/5) **Pink Guava Glow: I opted to get this drink 50% sweet as well. The tea itself wasn't bad but you can taste that typical artificial tea flavor you get from other chain boba joints. On the bright side, you could definitely taste the guava. This drink was very refreshing. (3.5/5) Service was pleasant and drinks came out in a very timely fashion. They have plastic bag drink holders available for single and double drinks that are pretty sturdy for your ride home. The coffee was a miss for me but I highly recommend their milk tea. Easily one of the best milk tea you will find in the Fullerton area besides Wushiland nearby. Not sure if they rebranded from R&B Tea or not. I say this only because the straws have their brand logo on the wrapper. I'm sure this place will flourish mainly due to the college campus right across the street but I didn't get a WOW factor that will make me return to this location. read more

I tried the black sesame coffee and I really liked it! The coffee is very strong and the black sesame cream top is very creamy and has a good strong flavor of black sesame. There are black sesame seeds sprinkled throughout the cream top that add nicely to the flavor and texture of the drink. The drink is on the sweeter side so if you prefer less sweet drinks like me I would choose half sugar or no sugar! There was a mix up with my drink and the staff kindly fixed the issue which I really appreciate. I would come back again! I didn't plan to visit Ryo. I just stopped by while passing through for work and decided to try somewhere new. To be honest, I genuinely don't understand how this place maintains such a high rating. The staff weren't particularly welcoming no greeting or acknowledgment and while one person was working, the others appeared to be sitting down in the back. I ordered a latte and an Americano. The most important part is the taste. Before ordering, I noticed the grinder hopper looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while, which already made me uneasy. Unfortunately, the drinks confirmed that concern. There was a strong hazelnut like aroma that felt artificial and unpleasant. The aftertaste reminded me of old motel coffee stale, oily, and lingering. On top of that, there was a burnt bitterness that made it difficult to keep drinking. I couldn't finish either cup. With so many quality coffee shops around these days, it's surprising to encounter this level of execution. This will likely be my last visit. read more

We got a little confused on where to park at first but there's a back area with a decent sized lot. There's a self order option or with a cashier. There's also plenty of inside and outside seating perfect to get some work done. It was pretty quiet in the store when we came only one other person studying. We got the creamy matcha which has more of a nutty flavor imo. I added some vanilla syrup but i can't really taste it with my drink. Still a solid matcha choice. Would come back. I also tried the caramel cloud i think if i remember correctly. Coffee flavor is strong and not watered down. Very very strong caramel flavor tho so maybe less sweet on this pick. It does pair well with the drink itself. However they're a bit on the bigger side so it doesn't go up the straw easily. The drinks were pretty good but to say the interesting at the least for one of them. I got the creamy matcha and it was pretty good, it had a good balance but definitely more on the sweeter side. My sister got the genmaicha latte and we both thought it was a little grainy and bitter for our taste. Would definitely make some adjustments in the future. The service was great they were very nice with the recommendation. Also just very welcoming to the cafe when we walked in. The only thing that I would complain about is that when you walk in there's an interesting smell that was strong. The Almond Delight doesn't have that artificial taste that some places have, it blends well with the coffee. Ever since moving to Fullerton, I've taken joy in all of the local coffee shops in the area. One lacking area though was Vietnamese coffee. Yes, I can get my fix in Westminster/Garden Grove, but I wanted a more nearby option to satisfy the craving on weekends. Thank goodness for Ryo. Located right across from Fullerton College, I can imagine this little shop being quite busy during the school week. I visited during the weekend, so parking was wide open, but for the weekdays there's a small lot right behind the shop that's shared with other businesses. As with most local cafes, it's a small team at work, but everyone was friendly and clear with us about how the drinks should be enjoyed (shake/mix/stir your drinks after your photo!!). We got to chat with the owner who was very cool and excited about his menu. He emphasized that the menu is kept intentionally small to focus on the quality of their drinks. Like their milk tea - he and his wife worked hard to find the right tea and ratios to make a perfectly smooth milk tea that stands out in a crowded market. I'm not someone who usually goes for milk tea, but the sample that was provided made me want to come back for a milk tea in the future. So what did we get? The Sesame Bliss is what caught my attention. A black sesame latte with an abundance of black sesame seeds without a flavor that is overwhelming. A smooth and strong coffee with just the right amount of sweetness (we got it less sweet) and the flavor that I've been needing here in Fullerton. The rest of my party got the Violet Garden Latte and the Pink Guava Glow. The former being an ube/taro latte that again had just the right balance of flavor to mix properly with their strong coffee, and the latter which had a clear taste of pink guava mixed with their floral black tea. Both individuals were very happy with their drinks, and taking a quick sip of both, I'd again come back here for either drink. Essentially, everything we sampled and bought were guaranteed reasons for us to come back. For those looking for a place to study, it's a small shop against Chapman with tables and some outlets right across from Fullerton College. There was only one other party when we were there who left shortly after, so I cannot comment on how loud it might get, but the music being played was just the right cafe vibes.
