Haven't been in years; decided to stop by for dinner. The interior is far more sparse than it was years ago. Kind of Spartan in its appointment, there's a big green wall with faux plants when you come in. It looks deceptively large from the outside...the market that faces Summer takes up a lot of the footprint (but is worth a stop by- roasted pork and duck to-go). The staff was busy but attentive, not much for convo. This is a place to go for for food, not experience (anymore?). Had three rolls and pho. Phoenix, Rainbow, something else; spicy pho and combo kimchi pho. The rolls were good. The ones with cream cheese were better than those without. But, alas, nothing that made them stand out remarkably from, say, Sakura. The pho was a bit underwhelming (and perhaps because I'm not a 'man, I could really go for soup! kinda guy). But I've had better pho elsewhere. The broth wasn't as depthy or layer as other places (Crazy Noodle). The kimchi added hints of novelty, but nothing that broke the mold. They get their products from Great China Food Market and I'm boycotting Great China Food Market for the following reasons. Take a moment to listen and understand what I'm about to tell you. I went to Great China Food Market and I had an odd disrespectful experience. We were respectful, quiet, used manners to get by people, but we were getting weird looks/stares from all the older Asian customers in there, but this is not about the customers because they were just there to shop and they see someone different. The cashier in there bagged and handed everyone their receipt. Remember this. We've been here before and it wasn't the same respectful guy at the cash register, it was a different guy. For time stamps Saturday, July 18th, 2026, around or before 1pm if there were any cameras. When he was checking our items out, he threw the bag in front of us and threw the receipt in front of us. But then he started getting a bag ready for the next customer so he can bag their things. I was so thrown off by his disrespectful childish behaviour. Mind you, a grown man acting like this. I can't think of any way that we were rude, so that leads to one conclusion. This is how you'll get treated in Great China Food Market especially if you're brown. Apparently you have to look the part for people to respect you in there. But he seems fine with white people. Just don't go there. They're clearly disrespectful and they don't know they live in a diverse country. I hope that grown man child can learn from this and treat his brown customers better. As minorities, we should respect each other, I don't know why you feel so disgusted with us to the point where you can't even hand us the receipt, we can bag things on our own but the fact that you threw both the bag and the receipt in front of us while getting a bag ready for the next customer, it really made us feel disrespected. Why do you have so much hate in your heart? We are all human and we just wanted to buy some latiao, you didn't have to disrespect us like that while respecting all the other customers to make us feel small. Are we not worthy of your respect? Stopped in for a bowl of Pho Thursday afternoon. Great day for soup. It was partly sunny, cool and windy. The yummy soup warmed up my cold bones. I had the pho with pork and vegetable dumplings. Very tasty. My aunt had the pho with beef tenderloin. Good bone broth for both bowls of soup. The soup was a good serving and we had leftovers to take home. Soup was served with Thai basil, jalapeños, lime, and bean sprouts. Good mix of soup fixings. The restaurant is average size. Our server was excellent. She was courteous and very nice. Parking is plentiful and the restaurant is right next to Great China Market. You can go grab a bite to eat then go shopping for much needed Asian staples for cooking. Lunch was about $35.00 with tax. We also ordered a pot of tea. It was Oolong tea. Will be back for other types of available pho. Sushi is also available but we did not order any for lunch. Will be back again soon. I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! The outside is plainly decorated and missable when driving by but once you enter it has a nice set up. The kitchen and dining area is impeccably CLEAN! Customer service was great as well. Don't hesitate to drop in to eat or order to-go. I ordered the Crispy Dumplings (made with pork) (not pictured) and they were delicious! The sweet chili dipping sauce really set them off. For the main, I ordered the Seafood Pho. The broth was delicious, shrimp tasty, and noodles cooked perfectly. There was a time years that I was not very pleased with ryu. They have really cleaned up lately! Not the best pho to be honest but the brisket is tender and the broth is clean. The fish on the sushi is really good too. I go here about once a week for some quiet time and it's so nice to just be in their calm, open space. One of my favorite sushi spots. They've trimmed down the menu a bit since my last visit. I remember you used to be able to get a meat and rice combo, but now it's mostly sushi and pho (apart from a few appetizers, soups and salads). I like both of these things, so it's not a problem for me! Unfortunately, the pho was not available during our visit, as they sold out of broth during the lunch rush (so if you want pho, make sure you're there during peak times). Luckily, our server was very accommodating of my partner, who cannot eat raw fish or shellfish, and she helped us pick out some rolls that suited his tastes. I had the sashimi Combo and the Utopia Roll with yellowtail. Both were beautifully presented and very delicious. No fishy taste here, just fresh, expertly prepared fish with perfect texture. The atmosphere is quiet and elegant, perfect for a relaxing lunch. I particularly recommend stopping by if you've just survived a harrowing experience at the Driver Services and Reinstatement Center down the road. We ordered the Yellowtail Jalepeno, Tofu Roll, Softshell Crab, Softshell Crab Roll, and Tofu Pho. EVERYTHING we had was awesome although next time I probably won't get the Yellowtail because it wasn't bad just not my favorite dish. Located in a small strip center across from Bargain Hunt the outside looked third world ...or maybe fourth. The interior had anime playing, a sushi bar and several tables with Oriental design chairs and geisha patterned upholstery. The art was large modern prints.
