They gave us a very reasonable quote and comparable with three other companies that we had asked. There were three guys that came to do the job. They were thorough and really did a pretty decent job, from the roof all the way to our crawlspace. They took lots of before and after photos for us to see since we are unable to physically check those tight areas. They checked all our surrounding spaces for any possible entry points for rodents, including under our deck. after a few weeks, they came back to check if there's any more activities and gladly there was one rodent caught on a trap. This is a long overdue review. Some people might feel this should not be a 5 stars review but I think this deserves more than 5 stars. Long story short, I had bad rat problem in the attic and crawl space. Rywen came for inspection and the quote is very reasonable so I did a rat proofing and replace my old attic insulation with them. They did such a detail job patching holes I could not imagine rat can get through. However, I could still hear rats under my bathtub. Called Rywen and they sent someone out without hesitation. This guy could not find any entry and said it could be the old rat was in there and did get caught by the traps they set. He added new traps and baits. However, after 2 weeks, I could still hear the rats. Call Rywen again and without hesitation, Rywen sent a new crew here. After detail inspection on very wet floor after rain, the crew found a small hole in the screen that rats could get through. They re-did the screen and no more rats after that. I think it is even more important for a company committed to address any problem after the job is done than they always do perfect job. Highly recommended. read more

I contacted Rywen Insulation after our two buildings experienced a massive rodent infestation this winter and early spring. We had hired other rodent control experts in Marin County, previously, but their work was clearly not what we needed, this time. Those experts would come out, seal holes and set traps but do little else. And if the rodents came back in anything more than a month, it was a whole new expense. I was looking for a comprehensive and thorough treatment, and also a business that stood by their work over a longer period of time. Rywen Insulation came through for us (and I believe will continue to come through for us, see below) with flying colors. Rywen came in and over two days with a large team cleaned our buildings of rodent nests and droppings. They sealed all entry holes that had been created by rats, and some others too, with wire mesh. Already this was a bit more than the other rodent experts had done. Rywen then put up a 4 inch wire mesh strip around the base of the insides of our outside wood walls, where they meet our foundation -- this being the #1 location where the rats create their holes in the first place. Our vapor barrier, on the ground under our house, had become dirty, smelly and a place for rats and mice to nest. They replaced it. They then set out a ton of traps. And they disinfected. They will come back next week, and if they find rodents or evidence of them, they will continue to do their work and come back weekly until there is no evidence of them. What had me go with Rywen and take the risk on the high price, compared to the other rodent experts: Should we find rodents in our buildings again, Rywen offers a one-year warranty of "all areas we serviced on the interior of your home. The warranty covers labor, materials, and all rodent-proofing maintenance. If you experience any signs of rodent activity -- such as noises, odors or visible evidence of rodents returning -- simply reach out and we'll return to resolve the issue." Now that is comprehensive and thorough! I'm both impressed and grateful. Our rodent problem was huge. We have heard some mice or rats in the walls, after this treatment. But Rywen is already set to come back to address this. I will update this review should Rywen not come through on their warranty. But I have no reason to doubt that they will come through for us, over the course of the next year. Rywen isn't cheap. Other services may seem more affordable. But we live out in the country with open forest and fields surrounding us. We need something that will last. Rywen's service is exactly what we needed. read more

One day I was arriving home and my cat brought in a very alive rat. After 10 minutes of the dogs and cat all chasing the rat while my son laughed hysterically- the cat caught the rat and finished the job. Starting seeing tiny mice droppings in the garage and reached out to a handful of companies. Of the three that came out, two put on suits and went down to the crawl space to take pictures and explain the process. I ended up going with Roni as he spent the time to explain the entire process and committed to come back as needed. Roni and his team did an amazing job for the main service. They vacuumed the entire crawl space (took 5+ hours), patched all plumbing and outside holes/garage (either with foam, wire or metal), and sanitized the entire area. Once done, they set up 25 traps. In additional, Roni recommended we insulate the garage to keep it slightly cooler and offered a reasonable price to complete that task. They started at 9am and was finishing up at 6:15pm. Since it was late, I felt bad and wanted to rush to let them leave but Roni still took the time to explain all the work done and reinforced a few other areas. While their work was excellent, the part the separates Roni from the rest is that he is the owner, and is meticulous with great attention to detail. He is willing to spend the time to do things right. Key examples were during the process, Roni offered to repaint the panel to the attic as there were light fingerprints, and to fix the broken latch that goes to the crawl space. He just can't stand things not done right. Sure enough, he came back a week later to check on the mice (NONE reported and no droppings) and spent a few hours to put on two coats of paint on the panel and installed a new latch. Roni and his large team performed miracles, when cleaning and repairing the rat-caused damage to our crawl-space HVAC ducting. Rats had not only extensively ripped the pink fiberglass insulation off of our ventilation ducts, but had managed to enter the ducts and contaminate them, including dying inside them. What a stench! I learned that when confined (I had placed heavy stones&bricks over the entrances that I discovered) a rat can literally gnaw through the heavy-duty black ABS pipes that lead to the sanitary sewer. (At least they could not gnaw through the iron ones) The amazing Rywen team trapped the remaining (live) rat; removed and replaced all of the ventilation ducting and insulation; removed and replaced the gnawed-through ABS sewage pipes; removed and replaced some leaking iron sewage pipes (threaded-pipe joints were 65 years old); reinforced all crawl-space vents with heavy-duty metal grids; and --- even cut a larger passage in a crawl-space former endwall (12-inch-thick concrete) so that it was easier for me to access under the area where we had extended our bedroom. All for a VERY fair price and including a 3-year warranty. And I should mention that they had previously done similarly-excellent work correcting a rat infestation at my wife's (now-rented) house in Montclair (Oakland hills). read more

I have had evidence of rats/mice in my garage and the insulation in my garage for months. I had gotten rid of several of them but then realized that they were also in the insulation above the house. Bryan (he spells his name differently) came out and did an inspection of the entire house. He took many many pictures so I would know exactly what I was dealing with. (He aslo asked me if I wanted to take a look in the attic area and I said absolutely no, that the pictures were quite enough.) He then told me what he would be able to do for me and gave me a price, not an estimate, which came with a two year warranty. They will also come out to check and replace the traps and also come by if I see any more droppings. Bryan and 4 workers came out last Saturday and spent the entire day removing and replacing all the insulation, removing any rats that they found, sealing all the places the rodents were coming in, cleaning and sanitizing all areas, setting traps & totally cleaning up the entire area before they left. They were amazing and so efficient. I will say, the job cost a bit more than I had been anticipating, but it was worth every cent to know that I would no longer have a rodent problem. This review is long overdue. My gardener first discovered a mouse nest in my front yard in the latter part of 2024 and he promised to come back and spray the nest but he never did. I hired another gardener to spray the mouse nest but by then mice had started entering my home. I don't want Yelpers to think I live in filth but I had a rat infestation in 2019 because I had neighbors that would keep dog food on the porch that attracted rats so rats started entering my home because I have a dog so they would enter my home and eat my dog's food too. The Rodent Proofing company that successfully eliminated rats from my home was the same company I hired to eliminate the mice. After a couple of months the mice were still in my home so I checked Yelp for a Rodent Proofing company that had five star reviews and that's when I decided to contact Rywen because not only did Rywen have a lot of 5 star reviews but their office was located only about two miles from my home. I contacted Rywen and Brayan came out to my home on 01/06/25 for a complimentary inspection. This is where Rywen pulled ahead of the other rodent proofing company I hired because Brayan got "down and dirty" literally and thoroughly inspected BOTH the inside and outside of my home moving appliances like my stove,refrigerator,washer and dryer to check for entry points for mice. On 01/12/25 Rywen sent a team to start the Rodent Proofing process and the team removed the old wire grates that were installed by the former Rodent Proofing company in 2019 and replaced the grates with smaller grates to prevent mice from entering the home,sanitized my kitchen and cleaned mouse droppings and placed down traps. Rywen also checked my crawlspace and entered my attic where the mice were entering through broken tiles in the roof. At one followup appointment a member of the team found twelve LIVE mice alone in the attic. Rywen were thorough and diligent and came out weekly to remove dead rodents and to lay down additional traps. The last time I saw a live mouse in my home was 03/04/25 and a dead mouse in a trap was 03/19/25. I feel like the mice would have been eliminated sooner but I have a big,fat cocker spaniel that got his paw caught in a sticky trap one night so I would pull up the traps in the day but forget to set them down again at night. Oh I forgot to add that for an additional $400.00 Rywen installed a new crawlspace door which I greatly appreciated and which prevented mice from entering the crawlspace. For several years, we had a far less complex issue of mice sneaking into our porous Victorian. We hired successive local companies to rodent proof and rid us of mice. The teams were generally caring but neither thorough nor competent. Next, we hired one of the big-name players that require an annual contract for bare-bones service from poorly trained technicians. During this expensive contract period, rats moved into our crawl space, finding a perfect nest in our new insulation. The big-name company did nothing to troubleshoot or abate this problem, forcing us to again search for a more effective team. The smaller ones we found were unwilling or unprepared to tackle insulation, especially in a tight crawl space. A more prominent Bay Area company sent their white-glove representative, hoping to whip us into a frenzy, with stories and photos of rats in HVAC systems, attics, and more. That's when we found Rywen. First of all, Rywen specializes in both rodent abatement and insulation. I recently found out that I had rats and mice in the garage and crawlspaces. They also contaminated the insulation in the crawlspaces. As a first time homeowner, this was my first time dealing with rodents directly. I contacted a number of different vendors but ultimately went with Roni since he was super responsive to all my questions whether it was text or late night phone calls. He is just starting up his business and wants to win clients with not only top notch work but also great customer service. He came by with 2 other workers and spend all day thoroughly cleaning, disinfecting, proofing and removing the insulation. They set traps all throughout the crawlspaces and garage. The next night, I saw a large rat inside my house. Not sure if it was trapped inside and found a way to get in. Either way I was alarmed and called Roni immediately.
