This is a great place for anyone looking for quick Mexican. We got it to go after ordering online. Order was accurate and yummy.

We've been to Simple 3 times now so I feel confident saying that this place is great. I was inspired to write this because we brought some friends and their kids with us today and they kept talking about how awesome the food was (we are comparing to similar concept restaurants like Moe's and Chipotle). Serving size was massive (had to have a salad for dinner after eating a burrito for lunch!), LOVE the queso and chips, and really love that their grilled veggies have more than just peppers and onions. They are very kid-friendly and the handwashing station is so great the kids beg to wash their hands before and after the meal! We are so glad to have a great restaurant in this genre here, and locally-owned to boot! Oh, and their ice is similar to Sonic's - YUM! read more

I grade hard. If a place sucks big D then I say it. I love Chipolte but I live north of the river in Ellenton. I've been pissed off for months now since there's no Chipolte or similar place... but low and behold this place is basically Chipolte-Light. Walked in the door SUPER excited and although the ambiance is lacking and the staff seemed new and slow...the burritos and chips and salsa and churros are f-ing bomb! The food was excellent even to go. I would prefer it over any other restaurant in the area that serves a Mexican type cuisine.

This place has awesome food and it's very fast. The quality of the food is great and the owner goes out of his way to ensure a smooth running business. The style of the restaurant is similar to a Chipotle, but the quality of the meats are much better. I've been going here for almost two years now and I've always had great experiences! I believe in supporting small businesses. I've always come back to Simple Mex either once or twice a week as I am always eating on the run and I know I can always count on a good meal. I've noticed lately when the Manager is not there that the young kids that run the restaurant are leaving the workspace where they serve the food, filthy. There are food droppings everywhere and it's very sloppy looking and unsanitary. They're handling money and working with food without putting gloves on and recently one of the young ladies was talking with a friend while she was supposed to be working and the assistant manager asked her to get back to work. This is the same girl that makes me feel uncomfortable when I come into the restaurant. No one ever smiles, they never say hello and I like to feel appreciated when I take the time to come here. Therefore I will be taking a break from Simple Mex. read more

Very good Chipotle style Mexican food. Fresh, local, and excellent flavor. Very clean, comfortable, modern look. Wife got the Mexican salad, I got the Tacos w/ rice and black beans, and our girl got the quesadillas, plus we added the queso. All of it was excellent. Nice size portions, food is full of flavor, very good sauces, and queso w/ chips was perfect. The salsa bar has fresh jalapeños, seasoned onions, salsas, limes, and guac salsa! To top it off they have fresh brewed sweet tea which is always a crowed favorite. I highly recommend this place. read more

Good clean Mexican. Locally owned and operated, this spot beats the chain restaurants every time. Portion size is huge so be careful if you order the burrito, go hungry! Food was DELICIOUS with a very nice atmosphere including friendly employees. We had Nachos w/Protein (meat). The portion was huge (enough for 2 people) w/fresh ingredients. We found this simple, clean place because of coupon in Value Pak. We loved it. Much prefer it to Chipotle. Had the barbecoa burrito bowl with hard and soft shell extra shells/tortillas. The vegetables were fantastic and the the food was very flavorful. We didn't even order salsas, just pico de galle. A great value, especially with a coupon that we hope that they run again and enough food for 2 or 3 meals truly. We had 3 kinds of beans, green and red peppers, onions, yellow squash, zucchini and lots of cilantro, cheese, sour cream and onion added. It was fresh and delicious. We know "real" Mexican and this was of course Americanized, but very, very good. We will definitely go back for this great value and super food. Great find in our neighborhood! read more

Serving size is definitely filling. The burrito contents don't have much flavor, meat does not seem to have much or any seasoning, so there is no real kick, until you add one of the salsas. Really good; similar concept but much better than Chipotle! Meats were good quality, portions were generous. I love that you can add the combo: drink, chips and a queso/guac dip. The white queso dip was so good! Tacos come with rice and beans on the side which was great and made the portions feel very large. The restaurant was sparkling clean, and they had plenty of staff helping out. A comment to management: the church pew chairs are beautiful decor but are uncomfortably low to sit in relative to the table height, even for tall people. Maybe have a cushion made or something? To upgrade your meal to a combo is $3.95 that includes a small bag of chips a side of queso and a drink. Beware when you open the 4 oz container it is only half-full. Try to complain to the manager that the serving size is misleading and got a lecture on how difficult and costly it is to operate a new restaurant and "Did I really expect a full container of dip, chips and a drink for 3.95?" This restaurant is close to my home but I will drive the twenty minutes to Chipotle and never patronize this pathetic knock off again. read more
