Excellent customer service. Yesterday morning (Sunday 01/19/25), I called to leave a voicemail, but instead Stewart picked up and chatted with me for 5-10 minutes about the scope. Later in the afternoon I was provided with a very reasonable quote. After texting him this morning to schedule the work, Derek called and showed up at 10:30am, put on his booties and went to work... by noon he completed the installation, demonstrated that the new outlet was operational, and was on his way. S&B Electric saved me time and a lot of money. On a Sunday afternoon, I attempted to replace an outlet and found myself with no power in the kitchen. I found S&B Electric on Yelp. A helpful and friendly man said emergency calls on a Sunday are very expensive and asked if I was sure I needed one. He asked me to walk him through what I had done and send him a picture of the panel. He immediately let me know what I needed to do to fix the problem, and I was able to restore power in my kitchen on my own. In gratitude for not paying hundreds to fix my dumb mistake I offered to send over a tip. He declined, so here's a nice review instead. Had an issue with the outlets in my mom's kitchen. Made a few attempts to reset the breaker but was unsuccessful. Got on Yelp to search for electrical related and S&B Electric were amongst the many came up. Called and Stewart answered, explained to him my problem, he asked me text a picture of the faulty breaker, which I did. Then he said "ok now go to the breaker and reset it." To my own confusion, I explained that I had already done so and it didn't work. He patiently explained that with the type of breaker I had, most likely I didn't switch it all the way off and in order for it to reset, it needs to be in the off position and then flipped back on. I went out and proceeded to switch it "off" and told him it's not doing anything cause it just bounces back...lol. Bless his soul, he said flip it off until you hear a click...finally, the CLICK is what I heard and here we are, problem FIXED! Stewart informed me he asked for the picture because a lot of people don't probably reset and he didn't want have to charge for a service if he can help troubleshoot first. Integrity, honesty, and efficiency is the experience I got out of this business. This is the type of service many companies lack. Derek and Jose upgraded my old electrical panel from 100amp to 200amp and they did an outstanding job! They also took care of upgrading my outlets to GFCI and even installed outdoor GFCI outlets, they made sure to also correct several minor outdated electric pieces around the house and had a very reasonable price and were able to schedule all these upgrades/fixes a few days after I contacted them! My house needed some help with our light switches so I did a yelp request for an electrician with my issues. Other places that called back asked for when they could start service, but I was hoping S&B would give me a quote first since they have the best reviews on yelp. Unfortunately (so I thought), S&B are closed on weekends so I figured I wouldn't get a quote right away. To my surprise, the owner Stewart asked me to give him a call just 10 minutes after requesting service and this is still on their day off. I explained my situation and he immediately knew it wasn't a faulty issue. He told me over the phone how to troubleshoot and that was it. It wasn't an issue that needed to be fixed. I selected Y&B Electric based on their excellent ratings and Yelp and was extremely happy with their service ! Our home insurer told us that our 40+ year old Sylvania 100AMP SubPanel was not considered safe and had to be replaced before they would insure us. This meant replacing the subpanel itself and all the circuit breakers. I got estimates from 5 electricians including S&B. 4 of the 5 electricians either didn't follow through with a written estimate and/or their estimates seemed a bit higher than I would have expected. S&B came out and evaluated the work needed, provided a very fair estimate the same day that was in line with what I thought the job should cost and completed the work later that week. I saw the wiring behind and the panel before and after the the work was done and it was amazing how well organized and clean and tidy the wiring was after Jason, the electrician, finished the job.
