Lobster fried rice medium heat: There is something very comforting about being able to eat forkfuls of slightly spicy and "fluffy" fried rice with shrimp and crawfish, from a seafood place. I can't explain it but spicy seafood and buttery fried rice just go together. Luckily the portions were enough to share because hubby immediately took my order once i opened the box. I missed the lobster once it was gone, the breading was light and crisp, all in all i would say portions and taste would make this a repeat buy! Kids meal, catfish nuggets: a lot of fries! The nuggets were good too, crisp corn meat breading without being dry. Next time i would just get the regular size meal for more fish. Seafood boil 1/2 & 1/2 spicy: the sausage is bland. Juicy but bland. As long as the seafood is fresh the sauce/seasoning is the deciding factor on choosing the place. Can't complain about the freshness of the crab or shrimp, size of the crab tho was small, somewhat made up for in shrimp size. The seasoning was spicy, a slight runny nose but licking your finger level spicy. Their butter sauce was really good & we tried it on fries and the rice. All in all, very good option for todays early dinner and future fried rice cravings! Side note: Ambiance, while we were there i noticed that the cashiers greeted every person who entered. They weren't the super smiley fake friendly kind of workers either, just pleasant, polite which i think is much better. Place was also very clean, there was a lady wiping the tables as those who dined in left. I did find myself singing along to the "old school hip hop tracks playing through the overhead speakers. I usually LOVE sa sea food, I rave about it to everyone. I love their crawfish/ shrimp fried rice with sausage and I add an egg and extra sea food sauce... until yesterday. If you're looking for a good azz boil you NEED to come to SA Seafood. WOW. Literally no other way to describe the boil my bf and I had yesterday. We ordered the mild spice level and it was still decently spicy and simply delicious. The seasoning blend is insane and packed with so much flavor. The boil even came with this butter sauce that was CRAZY good. All in all, this is the best boil I have EVER had. I will definitely be returning and putting people on to SA Seafood. Literally the BEST place in the city for a delicious seafood boil!! I've been to several different restaurants and bars that offer seafood boils and let me tell you nobody comes close to SA Seafood! I've been twice now because it's not very close to me but it's well worth the drive! Each time I ordered the special of 1/2lb shrimp, 1/2lb crab for less than $20! I also included corn, potatoes & a hard boil egg. I order the medium spice level which is perfectly spicy. Let me tell you each time was nothing short of amazing! Wonderful flavor, perfect cook, AMAZING Cajun butter to dip and a wonderful family atmosphere with good music. Seafood is absolutely my favorite kind of food and SA Seafood is at the top of my list! Also, we showed up at 8:40, even though they closed at 9pm (felt terrible but we were craving it!) . We wound up dining in until around 9:30 and the staff/ownership was very kind! So I "joined them for a much improved dining experience" like their social media manager suggested and it was worse than my original visit. Why tell people to come back if nothing changes and you change nothing? The food, I ordered the same thing as my first visit, was just as bland. Their fish and shrimp is tasteless. Food is good. I enjoyed everything I bought like the shrimp fried rice, the pound of crab legs and the chicken wings. What I did not like was the batter for the fish and shrimp. To make a long story short - both my husband and I got really bad food poisoning. I was really excited to try this place out because I saw the good reviews and the food looked really good we got it today. I got the 3 catfish combo with shrimp and oysters with a side of jalapeño poppers and my husband got the 3 catfish combo with fries and hushpuppies. At first the food tasted good but I noticed the oysters tasted canned and tough. I figured it was due to the drive since we lived 20 minutes away but my stomach started hurting and then 5 minutes later I was vomiting and my husband wasn't far behind. Omg this place was amazing! We went for an early dinner, arrived around 530. There were a few people eating in the dining room while others were waiting for food to go. The restaurant has 6 tables following social distancing. Every table was cleaned and I'm order. We ordered the combo Spicy Boiled Shrimp with sausage and corn on the cob with the added spicy fried rice....that was to die for ....the best I've ever had! Could I have done more research before coming here? Yes. And I definitely should have. All I knew was that I wanted a pile of seafood. I ordered a pound of snow crab and a pound of shell on shrimp- then I had to purchase potatoes, corn, and boiled eggs SEPARATELY.... sigh but whatever, if it's good what do I care. When our food did come out it was ready for us to just leave with, when I finished unpacking and arranging it so we could eat the food wasn't very hot, I don't think I got a full pound of snow crab, there was the right amount of shrimp, the butter was good, and the potatoes and corn were fine. In total we spent $53. I'm annoyed I overpaid. I'm looking at another seafood place that's been well reviewed and I can confirm I did... If you skipped this place you can rest assured you're not missing anything. Ps had to ask for crab crackers and did I mention all orders are packaged to go. This has EASILY become my favorite seafood restaurant. The seasoning isn't too salty, the spice level matches (mild, medium, spicy), the fries are PERFECT (perfect crunch, but soft inside, seasoned perfectly), the wings 9/10 as well. I would say I was not the impressed. After seeing all the Instagram ads they pay for, it made me sad wasting my money/time. I ordered the fried catfish and shrimp w/fries with their seafood sauce and I was highly disappointed. The battering was unflavored and thick for a premium price. Sauce was good but when the main course doesn't hit then it doesn't even matter. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 because I normally prefer boiled over fried so maybe it was my mistake ordering.
