We were at a great birthday party uptown and they had pizza from Saba's. I've never had their pizza before and it was everything I love in a New York pizza, thin crust well cooked with a nice amount of body, a light layer of nicely seasoned sauce and a perfect amount of cheese. I got the Vodka Rigatoni slice and this was my first time actually having pasta on a pizza slice, but I love love love a vodka slice so I had to try this. I was worried it would be dry from baking it but it wasn't dry at all! This slice was really good and although couldve used a bit more crispiness on the bottom, the pasta was perfectly soft, the vodka sauce was rich, and it was tied together with excellent cheese and crust. I would buy a whole pie of this! read more

"Saba's" has some of the worst Kosher pizza I've ever had. Not horrible, certainly not worth the money and tasted more like frozen pizza than pizza from a restaurant. I ordered 2 regular slices--$4 each. The size was slightly smaller than an average slice. The sauce was more watered down than usual with a soft flavor, if you will. The cheese was sparse and of poor quality. The dough was average. Wouldn't come back here unless there was nothing else nearby. Mark would run for the hills. 1.75/5.00 read more

So.... I have to admit.... we came here because Dave Poftnoy did, and gave it a high review...and it was NOT a disappointment! This was probably the best pizza I have ever had!! They have sooooo many different pizza slices to pick from (it was hard to pick just two to eat) and the garlic balls are delicious with the sauce it comes with, you get 3 balls for $2! (a steal!!) They have a cute little area to eat inside and one outside as well! This place is SOOO GOOD! you definitely have to head on in for a slice! You will not be disappointed, no matter what slice of pizza you get!! 10/10!!!!! read more

First things first, this is a vegetarian pizza spot. Second, the mushroom/ricotta pizza slice was the best one to try! I'd come back just to have that again. I'd skip the green olive slice. Love the side of Frank's Red Hot to dip the pizza. Gave it an extra something. Service was pretty quick. read more

This pizza is truly amazing. We had the eggplant, buffalo, pesto, vodka, and mvp. We are super picky about pizza so this place truly is pretty good. It is on the pricey side. We really enjoyed the blast of flavor from all the different slices. The staff was Pretty great too. read more

I really don't know what the hell dave portnoy is talking about. REAL NY'er PIZZA REVIEW HERE. Slices should not have been rated anywhere near an 8, more like a 6... decent, not bad but not worth me returning. Plenty of other good pizza places in the area. Koronet has great slices a few blocks away, even Village sq pizza across the street is better. read more

On a cold day after leaving the MET, we were in search of some good 'ol New York style pizza. We found a couple of places and decided on Saba's. Located in Lexington ave between 81st and 82nd. It is a tiny place with barely any seating. They carry pizza with a lot of toppings. Mostly veggies which I love, however I was with my peeps and they wanted pepperoni. They were out, so we just got a plain cheese. It was a little expensive, and not all that tasty, but it was good. Service was OK, because the place is so small, we were privy to some drama going on, which while entertaining it's not ideal. All in all an OK place for a pit stop. Not of you are looking for amazing pizza. read more

Truly just so amazing. The MVP slice has been a TikTok trend and Saba's did a great job with it. I personally don't like the combination of the sauces but that was definitely more a me thing than a them thing- the sauces were all made perfectly. I am from NY but live in Denver now where there is no acceptable pizza. When I bit into the vodka slice, it felt like the world was whole again. The sauce is the perfect consistency and complements the cheese so well. Crust is just thick enough and was cooked for the perfect amount of time. Will be home again for Thanksgiving and will be back. read more

Nice local spot for pizza. I love the concept of a kosher restaurant, and find it to be a nice option for those of whom are observant. (There are a few synagogues close by, and I feel happy that this can be a quick option). They are open for 1 hour after Shabbat, giving you enough time to pick up a slice or grab something in the go. I had the vegetable slice (no cheese), spinach and feta slice, and garlic knots. The vegetable slice is my favorite! It tasted like bruschetta with eggplant (yum!). Unfortunately the garlic knots were very hard, so minus 1 star for that and the price. (I paid almost $13.00 for 2 slices of pizza and 3 garlic knots). Aside from that, I think it's nice and would stop by again. read more

Everyone knows the rules...this is an excellent slice of pizza. People who rated this place lower just don't know what they're looking for. They're either tourists who wandered in from the Met or people who don't know how to judge quality pizza. The added challenge of being Kosher makes this place even more impressive. Crust is thin and crisp, sauce is delish, perfect amount of cheese, perfect oven temp. My only objection is that they don't have fountain drinks, just plastic bottles. If you're in this area and you want a quality NY slice (a little on the thin crust side), this is the spot. read more

I am by no means a lover of kosher pizza but I have to cater strictly kosher food for my job so Saba's is my go-to. They're easy to work with, and everyone is always happy with the pizza. The prices are normal, and because I work for a nonprofit, they're great with my tax-exempt emails and are also extremely quick to respond. Delivery is always on time, the menu is diverse, and everyone seems to be happy whenever I order! read more

Note to self: it's decent, but not really worth it. Also not "amazing" - although it IS kosher- not that you care. Only walk into here if you're on your way to the Met have no idea what else to eat. There are other pizza joints in the area and there is also a Tals bagel. That said, you had the regular Sicilian and a square of the caramelized onions with feta cheese- which was good but rang you up 9 bucks. read more

I'm from New Jersey, so I have strong feelings about pizza. This includes being inherently suspicious of any pizza that is square. We got a spinach and feta pie delivered and it was delicious enough to convert me to square pizza. I have been thinking about it all week and I've been thinking of excuses to head uptown for more. Is it ridiculous to go uptown just for a slice of pizza? How much of a pie could I eat on my own? We'll see. Delivery was a little slow. First things first, be aware that this is vegetarian pizza place. They create faux pizza meat, but soy pepperoni just isn't quite as delicious as real pepperoni. The best way I can describe it is if you wanted to have an ice cream sandwich, but settled on a freeze dried ice cream sandwich that astronauts like Neal Armstrong and Buzz Lightyear would eat on the Apollo Creed missions in space. You know, the freeze dried ice cream that comes in a small pouch you can buy at the gift shop at the Kennedy Space Center out in Florida? Remember how you expected the freeze dried ice cream to taste like ice cream but instead it tasted like chalk, broken dreams, and tums? Yeah......... Given the wide selection of other pizza places around NYC, I would say you're probably better off going somewhere else unless you're a vegetarian and you like chalk. Given another opportunity I'd go somewhere else. read more

Worst pizza ever. I ordered a saba square pizza for delivery. It arrived 1 hour later ice cold a totally soggy. Completely inedible. I called Saba to come and pick up the pizza and give me my $35 back. They said OK but never showed up. The entire pizza ended up in the trash and I am out $35. There are many pizzerias on the Upper Eastside. Stay away from Sabas. Their pizza is terrible and they are dishonest. read more

Had the baked (meatless) ziti. The small portion is enough for an average adult, specially if you want to leave space for your beverage and perhaps, elsewhere, dessert. I asked originally for a pepperoni slice of pizza but they don't sell anything with meat, though the selection of pizzas had a good variety and they all looked very appealing. Will return to try the pizza on my next visit to the area. read more

Perfectly decent slice on the level, if not worse than many slices in the city, as I disliked the sauce, while the rest was fine.

My second time here visiting from Texas and it did not disappoint! I tried the lasagna pizza but my favorite is The Grandma- square slice.

It was pretty packed inside when we got there and took the bar seating, so would probably recommend a reservation for larger parties (2+) on evenings. Definitely one of my top neopolitan pizza spots in NYC!

I will use another pizzeria in Bushwick that exemplifies it perfectly. It is a hipster pizzeria in a hipster neighborhood. Through balance, it creates an ambiance both welcoming and warm without losing any of its Bushwick character. I think the eggs are cooked with cheese, and as someone who typically does not eat cheese, I didn't mind it. I don't know if I'll be back again - I think the concept of an asian twist on the classic diner does sound intriguing but difficult to execute. I also wasn't a big fan of the wait time. If you typically like heavier, diner food then this spot might be the place for you!

We ordered: -Cleaved cucumbers (5/10- these were good but average) -Fried sticky eggplant (8/10- these were fried but you could still taste the flavors and was a good size) -Very spicy pork dan dan (8/10- delicious but more reliant on the sichaun spice over flavors; not too spicy if you are used to it but can pack a punch if you aren't a spicy food eater; the noodles were great). I loved watching the staff prepare the noodles while waiting. My bowl was huge and absolutely delicious. It was very spicy as promised, but not too spicy that it was rendered not enjoyable. I looked at other orders and everything looked delicious, leading to only semi-regret of my choice. My lemonade was very good. I'm very much looking forward to returning.
