I ordered the Bayou Beast delivered from Two Boots Pizza at their UES location. Ordering by phone was easy and a welcome change from the online norm today. It arrived in short order, within about forty five to fifty minutes. Unfortunately, the reviews and videos I had seen heightened my expectations beyond what could be delivered. The box was bent a bit more than it should, indicating the trip was a bit rough. That can happen on the streets of NYC and is not, alone, dispositive as to how one reviews a pizza or any food delivered. There was no tape to seal the box and ALL pizza deliveries should have tape applied to ensure nothing happens to your pizza enroute. I accepted delivery, despite these shortcomings, given I was starved and had an online meeting about to occur. This is a thin crust pizza and the crust has a more grainy and chewy texture than a New York style crust. There is no leopard spotting on the base of the crust, but it is still above average crust. There are not sufficient toppings for this pizza. Thin crust has become synonymous for scarce toppings and at $45, plus delivery, leaves one wondering what does one receive in perceived value. See the picture attached and one slice has nothing on it, only the cheese and sauce: no sausage, no shrimp. Yes, the pizza makes an impression upon the palate with its spiciness from the Andouille sausage and shrimp scattered about where one can find them, but it's more of an impression rather than a tangible taste. Here and there a piece of sausage or a shrimp happens upon the palate, but does not leave satisfaction. This is a good idea for a pizza and one I had been anticipating to be better, but we are in inflationary times and one remembers the places that deliver satisfaction and value for your hard earned dollar. This pizza did not deliver the same this time. If all the slices had toppings and they were in greater abundance than a few sprinkled here and there, this pizza would have far more impact and satisfaction. Instead it gives only the impression you experienced something unique to New Orleans and Louisiana in NY pizza format. 3.5 stars read more

The decor here is vibrant and fun. Bright colors abound. The staff very friendly and answered all our questions. We got half vegetarian pizza (V For Vegan/Super Vegan)just for the sake of trying something different. The other half pie was the Cleopatra Jones Neither half disappointed. We also got salad and garlic knots . The pie was laden with veggies and the sauce and cheese were good too. This is a great spot for those Vegan/Vegetarian options. There's a signature pie at every location- here it's The Klaatu with Sweet Italian sausage, wild mushroom, Truffle oil, Calabria chili pesto on a grandpa crust . Two Boots Pizza is a fine pizza restaurant. I would rate my overall experience with the pizzas a 8/10: it's a really good pizza. The Meat the Mets is probably my favorite. A thin, crunchy base, a good portion of marinara, and a cheese that has a light gooey texture. I would most likely order this pizza again if I come back. The bayou pizza was a good experience.'I've never had a shrimp pizza before, and I was not disappointed. Maybe it was because this was the second pizza I ate, but the cheese (or whatever topping) was certainly not to the level of the cheese on the other pizza. Imagine being hungry, excited to try a vegan calzone, and spending 14 dollars only to receive a burnt, sloppy mess. A burnt top crust, then I pulled it open and almost NONE of the vegan chicken that I requested be added was in there, and MAJORITY OF THE CHEESE wasn't even melted!!!! I just happened to walk this place a few times and decided to drop in. Their pies looked amazing. I went for The Buckminster and The Bayou Beast slices. They were incredibly good! I recommend trying out the Bayou slice. Very tasty with the shrimp. The inside decor was unique and colorful! Very nice late-night joint. Price was extremely low considering they were artisan slices. Walked by Two Boots several times before and decided to stop by since I was craving pizza! I was told the Klaatu can only be found at their UES location so I had to give it a try. It incorporated mushrooms, sausage, mozzarella/ricotta, along with lines of Calabrian chili pepper pesto, which gave it a nice intermittent kick. It was otherwise well seasoned with a good ratio of ingredients. The crust reminded me of a focaccia, light and chewy, but it wasn't what I was expecting for my pizza. My partner felt that the regular cheese slice had a heavy peppery taste with more spices than other cheese pizzas. The tomato sauce was a little too sweet. Nevertheless I like all the cool flavors/toppings that they offer. I appreciate how they have a wide variety of vegetarian pizzas and vegan options as well! We also got their hot knots, which is their garlic knots drenched in their jalapeno pesto green sauce. It was tasty and spicy not only from the jalapeno, but also from the garlic. Although staff heated it up for us, I think it would have been even tastier if it was warmer. The store itself is decorated with lots of fun artwork and I love the vibrant colors all around! Came here on a lunch break, first time here and I got 2 slices for $7 and I have to say I did not like it. The dough is grainy, just not the best pizza I've tried. This tastes more like hipster pizza. (Someone tried to be cool and developed a different way of pizza). It's on my list of bad pizza with Dominoes. On Father's Day, this past Sunday, I called the UES location to order two pizzas for an important family dinner with my 94 year old dad, 8 other adults and a new 2 month old in our family. I'd called and spoke to someone twice who promised that the pizzas would be delivered at 5:15 pm--important bc the baby would start melting down by6:15 pm. At 5:30 pm no pizza, and we called and they promised they'd already been given to the uber driver for delivery. No pizza. More calls to two boots. After an hour of calls, the baby melted down on schedule, the adults were starving bc we only had salad and cookies to go w the pizza. The pizzas never ever showed up. How hard is it to order a pizza delivery in nyc??? It should be as easy as breathing. While they refunded us (obviously) I've called and have asked to talk w a manager as our Father's Day was sort of a nutritional bust!!! ! It's now been 5 days w no call back. RATING: 5.5/10 PRO TIP: They have a lot of vegan pizza options, so if you're bringing a vegan around town this is a great spot! BUCKMINSTER Kind of a spin on a margherita, they're offering spinach, onions and tomato sauce together on a pie. I will say that in general the pie crust here is a bit bready, not the thin thin crispy crust I love about NYC pizza. The sauce is a little uninspiring and the toppings are fun and unique for a lot of their pies, or uncommon, but not sure they add to more than the sum of their parts. CLEOPLATRA Who can go wrong with a sausage and peppers? Again the toppings were good, but the crust and sauce leaves a lot of room for growth. Maybe this place is just not my cup of tea. For reference, I love my pizza slices thin thin, crispy, with fragrant savory tomato sauce (that tastes like tomatoes) and stretchy, gooey cheese. I don't get any of those things here unfortunately. But I give this points for being creative and fusing NOLA vibes with NYC. I'm here for the concept. Two Boots is familiar to New Yorkers, and the Upper East Side location is new-ish. Its proximity to the hospitals makes it a fast, inexpensive choice for lunch or dinner. The space is small in size but squeeze 'em in is the norm for NYC pizza. The atmosphere is cozy and I didn't feel squished. A line of bar stools against the front window, and a couple of roomy booths is about it. I ordered two slices, Cleopatra Jones and, on the counter worker's suggestion, the vegetarian Buckminster. You order and pay at the counter, and pizza is brought to your table, served on paper plates. On a cold, gray afternoon, the slices were perfect relief after an all-day fast (medical tests). The sauce had a cheerful zip and both slices were loaded with flavor, not grease. It's easy to conceal bland veggies with cheese or meat, but the veggies on my Buckminster slice were as lively as the Zydeco and soul music on the loudspeaker. Two slices were $12 including 25% tip. As I wheeled my suitcase out, I tried to quickly shut the door behind me, to cut down on the cold air blasting in. Great little gem on the upper eastside. Two boots was recommended so we gave it a shot on our last night in NYC. We wanted to eat in but it' was a little small and no booths or stools available . We had a party of 6. We took it to go. Got an 18' cheese pizza, calzone and garlic knots. Something about NYC pizza. Coming from the west coast some places claim to make NYC style pizza. This Two Boots location is very small and colorful the entire inside is like walking into a rainbow. It's counter service and the staff were pretty quick with food and drinks. The pizza is defintely not NYC style pizza that you might traditionally find however it was alright I'm not a fan of cornmeal on the bottom of my pizza so that was a bummer for me. Could taste every element as i stuffed it in my face. Nom nom. Looking forward to revisiting the Neuman and Mel Cooley slices. All three slices were my regular go to when I lived near by in "cool" hoods back in the day... Oh joy! Now I can stroll up the block for a fantastic slice.. New Two Boots pizza location is finally open! This pizza place is easy to spot at the corner of E65th St and 2nd Ave with its colorful yellow banner. They have a couple of booth seatings and a few high seats by the window and also a tall round table with high seats. I luv the booth seatings, extra star for the nice setting and friendly staff. Great for small groups. It currently has scaffolding on the outside and no outdoor seatings. It's too cold out anyways. You order first and then can sit in or take-out. I had the plain slice. It was ok pizza and on the salty side. I usually like it with slightly more cheese, but still a solid pizza. Now just need some beer with it. read more

Amazing late night spot for pizza in LES. I always pass by this spot, and the fun decor really catches your eye. Inside, there are mosaic murals and paintings of famous figures, some which theyve named slices after. The garlic rolls are minimum 3 to an order, so i got one garlic and 2 with the green sauce. Also got a slice w spinach and other toppings. The garlic rolls are amazing - so soft and fluffy inside. The green sauce on top is fresh, bright, and herby (cilantro?) and they come w a side of marinara. Perfect combo. The pizza was great, chewy and tasty, but could use more sauce. A friend recommended Two Boots back when I moved to NYC. I never got around to it & then most of their locations closed. I've been waiting for this one to open since the Coming Soon poster went up in July (I was really ready to be disappointed after that wait!) But man was this good. I got a Boomer special and garlic knots. The spicy tomato sauce was in fact spicy! A good portion for the price- similar to Lunetta on 1st, but way better quality toppings. I didn't have to wait long when I picked up but I was struck by how small the space was. I think it was a flower shop before? So LRoth and I are in the city to see Jimz and RexMom. We had some good food earlier in the day, but it's a cold and rainy day. This spot had just opened below their building, so we figured we'd try it out. Vibrant New Orleans vibes inside with plenty of colors and decor. They were closing down, but the staff were really cool about letting us eat in. We ordered a ton of pizzas. The Buckminister was my favorite. Pizza was thin but had a great crunch. Slight chew to the dough. Sauce was fresh. The roasted garlic really carried this by giving it a strong flavor. The Bayou beast was awesome. Nice spice and the shrimp on pizza worked well. I thought the Newman was okay. Good but not my favorite. This is a place I'd definitely try out again. They sell by the pie and the slice. read more
